Do not, under ANY circumstances, change this format. I feel as though I’m a neighbor talking to you over the fence. Watching you and LT work is beyond cute. Thanks for this channel.
I'm glad you like it! Sometimes I worry about it being rambly because it is, in fact, me just rambling at the camera and sometimes losing my train of thought after stopping to chase the toddler lol
Well there you go again. Every time I watch your videos it makes more work for me. (The boss said I had to say that.) The boss is a very good helper also.😉 Thank you for the ideas. Everyone have a wonderful day.
My best tomato yield to plant ratio has been in containers. When tomatoes are spread out more air gets under the leaves so they don’t get tomato blight
Nice work including the material numbers. Much of my deck garden is grown in food grade 5 gallon buckets from a local production kitchen that is happy to have buckets hauled away. One hole drilled in the side just above the bottom slightly smaller than a clear plastic 3/8” hose directs water over the side of the deck and 6” of small course rock helps anchor the hose in place and retain the soil.
I did this to my raised beds I made. Lots of yard waste and wood from a tree I cut down then filled with soil from my yard then topped with garden soil. My vegies love it. Oh you might want to add irrigation hoses to make it easier to water
Yes, I have heard that when I was researching compost. I didn't have any on hand, but we do have a big pile of dead wood and nothing to do with it, so....maybe!
I have tomatoes and peppers growing in buckets. I planted extra seedlings in the ground right next to the bucket of the same type of plant. The ones in the buckets are outgrowing the ones in the ground.
Some of the plastic clam packs from the bakery at the grocery store are a 6. Fast way to tell when sorting a truck load of recycle plastic, the 6 is crinkly and goes in the trash.
Another awesome video. I wasn't aware of the Plastic Recycling number information. Thank you very much. Liberty Boss is a great helper. You and your family have a beautiful and blessed Happy Thanksgiving.
You can probably check local factories too for broken pallets. Besides 4 2×4's and some wood lattice, my entire garden was made using recycled pallet wood I got from my job. Might have to spend around $200 dollars for tools, though.
Great Idea Ms LD. 👍 I think I'll try that next year. I may even put some in my wagon so I can wheel my plants under cover when we get those night time cold snaps here in Montana.
Will Liberty babies going to be quite the gardener😂 Because she has mom to train her and she looks very interested😅 can't wait to see the plants and those😮 but winter is approaching
Awesome sauce for using southern exposure instead of the giant seed company that pretends to be 'small' *cough baker creek cough*. Don't forget to give victory seed some love too😊
I hadn't heard of victory seed! I actually do really like Baker Creek as well (especially for the free seeds), but I sit and cross reference between them and Southern Exposure for price, organic, heirloom, and varieties that seem best for my area. I like how SESE has all the little icons to tell you those details, and through that have learned that not everything BC sells as heirloom really is.
A few years ago in Seattle/CHAZ/CHAD whatever... I remember a story of those guys trying to grow a garden just by putting some soil on flattened cardboard. We all got a good laugh from that.
My plants will grow quite well but the fruits, or veggies I guess, don't really develop or maybe start to and don't ripen. I recall getting lots of nice tomatoes, yellow beans, bell peppers, and cucumbers the first few years but now stuff just doesn't work out. I have 2 different spots with somewhat differing soil. I don't know what the issue is. Maybe need fertilizer and all that. I like the idea of my garden but I'm also lazy.
Liberty Toddler is learning real quick the art of photo bombing..
I just love watching little liberty toddler!❤
Liberty Toddler was a great co-host as always.

My bestie calls it "relatable gardening" lol
@@libertyhomestead that’s what makes it great

I've stacked old tires and filled with dirt to make raised beds

I love LT! And being in a wheelchair I so need raised beds…and the ability to not kill plants.

Congratulations you have made a mini hugekultur garden.
Some like to add ash or char too.

Great. Still hoping for a cameo appearance from Mr. Liberty Chad!
I put hydroton on the bottom to cover the drainage holes. This allows for better oxygen exchange.
Well done, Liberty Momma! Cheers!
Thank you!

Great tips, thanks for the video !!
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you, and you too!
Thanks, I’m doing this this year for my garlic, so far. Might do it for my onions too. We’ll see.

Oh now that's a GREAT idea!
Thank you
LD is the BEST!
Your videos are so relaxing and informative to watch. I'm always eager to watch your new content and learn something! 🥰🥰
Liberty Toddler is cute. Keep raising her right.
Made some nice points. Thanks
#3 PVC is commonly used in plumbing? I think the thing with this is you just won't find totes made out of it.
Would like a Compost 101 type video. would be helpful to go whit these.
Thanks for the Videos !

What growing zone are you in? The photos of you deck garden looked beautiful!
Thank you! I was zone 7b, but USDA new zone map now says 8

I live in Oklahoma and it freezes in winter, do you leave totes out in winter if so how many years will they last in the elements?

"You'd be surprised how much dirt fits in a 30 gallon tote."
I'm no scientist, but I'm going to guess 30 gallons worth?
Haha, good point 😂
All too soon, she is going to start school or other age appropriate activities and you are going to be so lonely...
