The only one I disenchanted and opened it again was moorabi, feels bad man, but it's not like it's not competitive, it's not a matter of how high or low can roll, it's just that runespear doesn't have any specific purpose so it never make the cut in a deck.
I've seen Tier 1 decks use two Doomhammers, and, because the weapons are 'so played' wouldn't nerfing them make it even more 'played'? You must watch Rick and Morty, because y'know, you're so smart.
I often got runespear as a paladin in my dungeon run and it's really good there. Your spells are either safe without targets (secrets etc), AoE that doesn't affect your minions or buffs which you can make more likely to hit your own minions by killing your opponent's minions first.
runespear is one of the most underrated cards in the entire set. It casts 3 free spells and does 9 damage total! Could you imagine getting a volcano or healing rain off of this thing after going face with it? Utterly disgusting!
Keyword is discover though. It's not completely random (aside from the lava burst example) you get the option to choose the spell that doesn't completely hose you if it backfires. On top of that there are still the times where you can get highrolls with it and throw that lava burst at something you want to hit with it.
Only time Runespear ever worked for me was when I got it from the card that gives you a random legendary weapon in a dungeon run. As a Hunter! I played it turn one, got the Runespear and attacked with it, and I was able to cast Call Of The Wild, hahaha. Pretty good first turn, I think! :)P
If Runespear had read "After your hero attacks, cast a copy of a random spell from your deck. Targets are chosen randomly." it might actually have been good in some tempo-jade or control shammy. This way it's just shit.
he toast! there is a bug were the Voraxx's ability does not trigger with Lynessa's battle cry: it should work because the Voraxx says: cast the same spell you did on this minion on a 1/1 plant. and lynessa's battle cry says summon each spell you casted on a friendly minion, on this one. and since the voraxx makes you apply the spell on another friendly minion, it should work right? plz see this!
Toast must have been having a bad day. Overloading on turn 7 by playing a weapon he didn't plan on attacking with, which prevents his turn 8 runespear. The next turn he plays maelstrom portal before hero power when it was correct to hero power first in case he gets storm totem.
-core_ And yet he still wins the game because of bullshit rng. It really says a lot about hearthstone when you can play this bad and win by luck. Yeah, I don't feel much sympathy for the scumbag pirate warrior but Toast really didn't deserve this win.
You fool, he's not playing Pirate Warrior in 2017, Toast is playing Kobolds & Catacombs in 2016! He only uploaded this video now though because he didn't want to go to Blizzard Jail again for showing spoilers.
I disenchanted rune spear. Every time I played with it never did what I wanted. I kept hoping for board clear it never came. I got the preist weapon free and frankly other than making a fun miracle preist which is worse than the other preist decks. I'm hoping dragon soul may be a thing with enough spells added.
I played Runespear against a friend of mine during the Winter Veil tavern brawl. He raged quit after I got Everyfin Is Awesome and used my presents to beat his face in.
I see lots of people saying "this card is great cause its used in this one very specific deck"... Does that mean Hemets a great card because its a key component of OTK Pally then?? Lol.. I'd say the 'great' cards are the ones that see play in a wide variety of decks, like that gross Corridor Creeper, which has been plaguing ladder ever since KnC dropped. Cheers.
Hey editor. I love the videos, but think you could work on cutting the downtime a bit. Several times this video I had to skip ten second forward because it was just Toast sitting there thinking not saying anything or doing anything.
#1 - Kingsbane. This weapon is the foundation for a new rogue deck that's actually really good. #2 - Skull of the Man'ari. This weapon is a staple of some top tier warlock decks and the value it can generate is insane. #3 - Aluneth. One of the riskiest cards in HS, but it can shine in very fast-paced burn mage decks and has more potential value than probably any other card in the game. #4 - Rhok'delar. Thanks to many great hunter spells released recently, spell hunter is actually viable. And hunter burns through cards very quickly. Turns out filling your hand with random spells and getting a 4/2 weapon for 7 mana is pretty good. #5 - Val'Anyr. It depends heavily on the other cards in your deck and on the board state. You can't really play it when your opponent owns the board and you have to burn through it quickly. Combined with cards like Doppelgangster, Val'Anyr shines. Nothing can stop you when you have a shitload of insanely buffed minions to dish out, but it can be a bit difficult to get there. #6 - Wokecleaver. Only really works in a rather specific HUGE warrior deck. It does generate lots of value in that deck, though, since you can get 8-10 mana minions on the board for free multiple turns. #7 - Twig of the World Tree. Mostly a meme. Can be used to pull off crazy combos, but not really necessary in druid decks on the meta right now. Although I imagine it's alright in most of them. If you can afford to play it on turn 4, you can basically set up a second turn for yourself later on into the game. #8- Dragon Soul. Playing a tenth of your deck for a single 5/5 minion isn't ideal. If you build an entire deck around it, it can be alright. Works well with Dragonfire Potion and isn't all that easy to clear in some matchups. But overall it seems to me like a worse Alanna. #9 - Runespear. First of all, the spells it casts are shaman ones. Most of them don't have the "enemy" keyword and almost all of them overload you. If it could cast spells like Flamestrike, it would be much better. Secondly, it's truly random. You get a choice of 3 random spells, AND it casts them randomly. That means you don't even reliably get board clears with it, and you can instead just give one of your opponent's minions Windfury or Lava Burst yourself in the face. You're much better off just running the actual spells in your deck. Basically, it's Wokecleaver, except instead of pulling free 12/12 minions from your deck, it SMOrcs and overloads you.
Tbh, I think Val'Anyr is better. Let's just say that I've been wrecked by more spell hunters than buff paladins... Also, I love Val'Anyr and didn't want to be biased. That's why I ranked Rhok'Delar higher. How is Dragon Soul better, though?
But I still stand by my list. Between the two weapons, the difference in playstyle is large, but the difference in power is very small. Both are 4/2. One costs 6 mana and has infinite value but has to be paired with cards like Doppelgangster and have its charges used up quickly to be effective. The other costs 7 mana and fills your hand with random spells - as a hunter. This works well with the fact that hunters typically play out their hands very quickly rather than holding back like other classes. Besides, hunter spells are mostly really good. Also, hunters have an easy time staying on board, so they can afford playing the costly weapon - getting a multitude of spells to play the next turn more than makes up for it, since it also helps them re-stabilize if they get pushed back on board turn 8.
Literally God Doppleganster is not necessary in Val’anyr deck. The weapon is useless in control deck but in a midarange/aggro deck is absolutely perfect. Val’anyr let you kill a important minion or just go face etc. Dragon Soul is shit in a Dragon deck. It’s designed for spell/miracle priest. There are some nice version of the deck you can look at. I have no experience with Val’anyr nor Rhok’delar but what I can tell is Val’anyr in aggro Paladin is so good. I’ve played around 20 matches since launch with Dragon soul priest and I’ve won around 15 of them. Rhok’delar loses against 90% of the matchups. I’ve played around 60 with control warlock against 20 hunters and I have 100% against them and they were spell only or midrange/aggro hunter. I have only 10 loses against aggro Paladin. That’s it and my experience with the decks. Dragon soul is not the best, sure, but it’s not the worst. Rhok’delar on the other hand is trash and Val’anyr should take it’s place.
You commented this just as I was watching a Kibler video in which he was playing a Val'Anyr deck and mentioned that he doesn't think Dopplegangster is any good in it. I was just thinking about how absolutely insane the Val'Anyr buff can get if it lands on a Dopplegangster, since you don't only get 3 6/4 minions, but also 3 charges of the deathrattle effect when they die. But yeah, it isn't necessary. Val'Anyr isn't as dependent on other specific cards as I thought. Regardless, it's a fantastic card. I think it is indeed #4 or perhaps even #3. But you're underestimating Rhok'delar. It's not trash. More like "okay" tier. If you're losing 90% of the time with Rhok'delar, you just aren't playing the right deck. Emerald Spellstone is more of a staple of spell hunter than the weapon is. Rhok'delar is just a great addition to spell hunter because, as I explained twice already, hunters suffer with card draw. Hunter often has a near-empty hand towards the late game. Hunter also generally has really good spells and has an easy time staying on board. Connect the dots. Dragon Soul competes with Runespear for the worst. I think Runespear is undoubtedly the worst, though.
"No way they play Pirate warrior in 2016!" So, january 1st, will toast be saying 2017, or will he actually get it right and say 2018? Cause 2016 is like just a *little* bit off Toast.
'No way you play pirate warrior in 2016' Are all these uploads from 2016, I don't know anything about Hearthstone so I can't tell if Runespear was new at that time.
I don't think this counts. You played against a pirate warrior who traded! Think about it. It's not a pirate warrior in its wild and dangerous form D: .
This is my free weapon. And the spells are really bad. Especially when they are all damage cards agains minions, when the only minions on the board are your own.
I came here just to hate on this piece of shit that I got and decided to disenchant. Had to do it before it becomes tier 1 for some obscure unforeseeable reason and start hating it even more.
I disenchanted mine so it should become tier 1 soon.
This is so real it hurts
I disenchanted mine but got a 2nd one in an arena run pack the same week lol
Triuth dude. Happens to me every freaking time.
i would not disenchant this because now there are no dups you know... it would be shame if you disenchant and get another one
The only one I disenchanted and opened it again was moorabi, feels bad man, but it's not like it's not competitive, it's not a matter of how high or low can roll, it's just that runespear doesn't have any specific purpose so it never make the cut in a deck.
All it needed was "Discover a spell FROM YOUR DECK" in order to make it good. Wild murloc shaman with everyfin + bloodlust would be so dirty.
Or just make it not fuckin 8 mana lol
Troll.
or half-brained.
"proved"
hm wouldnt realy help because of the cost. i main a murloc/quest shaman, and most wins happen before turn 8
Guess which legendary weapon I got for free?
Twig?
Me too? I think we got the same.
Skull of the Man'ari?
Fiery War Axe?
You got 400 dust for free.
Runespear? More like, Ruinedspear.
Rudespear
booo!!!
Ruiwiened. This whole evening is Ruiwiened.
How long were you waiting to use that?
Diespear
I got jaina's weapon. Playing it just for epic voice. Even i mill myself worth it
It's good in secret tempo mage. Ant was playing a list with it in legend the other day.
jaina's weapon is strongest one from the set...
you can put mediv to destroy it
Unleash your potantiel!
asddareha Kingsbane is the strongest one
Shouldn't Gorehowl and Doomhammer be legendary weapons now
They're better than most of the legendary weapons LOL
Gorehowl is in World of Warcraft, dropps off of Prince Malchezar, but just epic
Yeah. Give Gorehowl and Doomhammer the 'Legendary' Treatment so you're only able to put one in your deck.
LUL
Please Noforgetti now they are so played, Yes please i Need 2 of them in my tier 214 deck, rank 25
I've seen Tier 1 decks use two Doomhammers,
and, because the weapons are 'so played' wouldn't nerfing them make it even more 'played'?
You must watch Rick and Morty, because y'know, you're so smart.
0:08 when Toast uploads
If this had been my free weapon I would have made a new account and sold my current one on the soviet market
It is my free weapon :( i wanna sell my acc how do i do that?
been there.... It was my free and thought the same.
It was my free weapon ofc
Along with Hunter DK being my free DK, I never even play hunter (Why would I)
I got runespear and Thrall Deathseer, Blizz really wants me to play shaman
This was my free weapon =(
0:39 ...hasn't anyone told him it's 2017 already? And that it's almost over?
I wonder i he will use 2016 or 2017 as a joke next year
thatsthejoke.jpg
didnt even notice lol
I think he meant that pirate warrior came out in 2016? But I've noticed he says 2016 a lot so I actually think toast doesn't know what year he's in
0:46 Disguised toast secretly pre recorded this in 2016 and added Rune spear into his deck
I often got runespear as a paladin in my dungeon run and it's really good there. Your spells are either safe without targets (secrets etc), AoE that doesn't affect your minions or buffs which you can make more likely to hit your own minions by killing your opponent's minions first.

On top of that there are still the times where you can get highrolls with it and throw that lava burst at something you want to hit with it.
President Waldo if i have the choice between windfury, earth shock and ancestral Healing those are crappy choices and they could backfire easily.
If it didn't overload you then it would be insane. I'm still trying it in my control shaman
ooor there is wepon removeal... then its just 1 spell...
0:18 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NORMIES
0:40 that moment toast forget what time he was in
That pirate warrior seriously didn't know where the place is.
Runespear is a Tortollan Primalist trapped in a weapon
Every time I see the intro it sounds like SI:7 Agent saw something weird.
"Ha, disguised toast. Would you look at that. Huh."
Yeah, Runespear is wickedly Epic. I got it once off a Molten Blade for my Warrior. First spell? Discover Un'Goro!
0:40 "pirate warrior in 2016 still" the expansion kobalts and catacombs came out is late 2017
If Runespear was "whenever" and not "after" it would actually be very good
Perfect imitation of priest right there
If Runespear had read "After your hero attacks, cast a copy of a random spell from your deck. Targets are chosen randomly." it might actually have been good in some tempo-jade or control shammy. This way it's just shit.
he toast! there is a bug were the Voraxx's ability does not trigger with Lynessa's battle cry:

Brandon Salinas no, he is just bad
-core_ And yet he still wins the game because of bullshit rng. It really says a lot about hearthstone when you can play this bad and win by luck.
Yeah, I don't feel much sympathy for the scumbag pirate warrior but Toast really didn't deserve this win.

No he is playing pirate warrior in 2017

You fool, he's not playing Pirate Warrior in 2017, Toast is playing Kobolds & Catacombs in 2016!
He only uploaded this video now though because he didn't want to go to Blizzard Jail again for showing spoilers.
Of course Runespear and Temporus are the two legendaries I got from my initial packs...
Temporus is great! 400 free dust
are you me?
at least i got trollwaggle as well
I got hunter weapon and druid stick... Both useless to me.
Blue Balls the druid weapon is amazing tho, on the fifth turn you can use all your mana, attack with it, and have ten more full mana crystals to use
I literally got the same off my opening packs 😂😂
I disenchanted rune spear. Every time I played with it never did what I wanted. I kept hoping for board clear it never came. I got the preist weapon free and frankly other than making a fun miracle preist which is worse than the other preist decks. I'm hoping dragon soul may be a thing with enough spells added.
I played Runespear against a friend of mine during the Winter Veil tavern brawl. He raged quit after I got Everyfin Is Awesome and used my presents to beat his face in.
Oh my god before now I thought he just had the "This guys toast" cause it says toast but I realized now that it sounds like, "disguised toast"
42 packs - 1 legendary - Fucking Runespear. Fuck that
Its good when u have hella totoms and discover bloodlust
oh look runespear actually saved someones game. I still wait for when it happens to me
i wish to be at hs like "look at card and try to make deck around it" but i can't i dont have even that 1 card to bulid deck around
I see lots of people saying "this card is great cause its used in this one very specific deck"... Does that mean Hemets a great card because its a key component of OTK Pally then?? Lol..

Anyone noticing that Toast is constantly moving his head front and back?
You misspelled Aluneth in the title Toast, just a heads up :D
Hey editor. I love the videos, but think you could work on cutting the downtime a bit. Several times this video I had to skip ten second forward because it was just Toast sitting there thinking not saying anything or doing anything.
We can tell the editor is definitely not Jens.
I agree. Please cut out down time where there is no commentary or action. Makes people want to click off the video.
try thinking about strategy too, it work for me. making video less boring
Yeah really shitty editing on this one..

Got it in golden. Hype
Here's a funny thought, if Coke a cola never existed, and all the mimicry's of it. gas would be 13 cents - today. ^.~
hey i got a question about the corridor creeper? how can it have 5-5 but on my game its 2-5?
Actual Runespearing 7:30
Beautiful volcano
"No way they play Pirate warrior in 2016!"
So, january 1st, will toast be saying 2017, or will he actually get it right and say 2018? Cause 2016 is like just a *little* bit off Toast.
6:13 RUNSPEAR
We now have confirmation that this is memes.
The light has betrayed me. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Why is it called The Runespear if it's an axe or poleaxe?
You're right. Looks more like a halberd or something.
And then he never won a match with Runespear again
if you give lifesteal to the runespear, does it heal you through your spells?
Pretty sure that only works in Eternal.
2016?! You always say that! Say 2017!
Runespear has carried half my games in my arena run currently at 7-2. plus luck
the amount of trades the warrior made. How do those type of people get to legend?
This is why you have to wait till toast stabilize meta 😏
got this piece of ... as my free legendary weapon...
'No way you play pirate warrior in 2016'
Are all these uploads from 2016, I don't know anything about Hearthstone so I can't tell if Runespear was new at that time.
An Overused Anime Picture no hes memeing since hes the memeking of 1995
U tricked me with the write
longer videos please
How did that guy even get to legend? Or was he just fooling around for the hell of it? He spent so much time clearing minions....
0:39 It's almost 2018, Toast. Shame on you.
is this toast's alt youtube channel?
Yes
That opponent was so bad, trading when there was no need for it, they threw the match.
yeah it’s pretty bad
ur pretty bad
Says The Guy Who Comments.. Kappa
It's better off in a warrior's hands as a molten spear.
Is this an official channel or something that uploads toast twtich vid
I mean... its not great, especially in Shaman. But I feel like Runespear has more potential currently than Dragon Soul does.
So far, I have opened Runespear and Temporous. Seems like my pulls are pretty good.
What's the difference between this channel and the main one? I noticed this one is more active
I only open about 10 packs in this expansion and this was my only legendary...
Why are the names of the opponents blocked?
You should have used the dragon spear instead of the rune spear
It’s pretty great if you’re a priest and you steal it. Won me a game once, while his Runespear did virtually nothing
ryan linford yup, it’s so much better in a priests hands
Ok now someone fucking dare tell me hearthstone is a game about skill
hearthstone is a game about skill
HOW DARE YOU
It's been 2 years... Pirate Warrior still owns the salty seas of hearthstone community..... Sad
I don't think this counts. You played against a pirate warrior who traded! Think about it. It's not a pirate warrior in its wild and dangerous form D: .
im sad because i've already seen it at stream like a week ago
The twig of the world tree is the worst weapon
Pirate warrior in 2016?
This is my free weapon. And the spells are really bad. Especially when they are all damage cards agains minions, when the only minions on the board are your own.
No that weapon is great
Crager Music Keep it 💯 it’s a control weapon.
I own 3 legends from KC and two of them are hunter weapon and runespear. Please pray for me.
rok delar is good but you have to play spell hunter
The Hunter Weapon is actually fantastic with Lone Hunter decks.
Don’t listen to them, the hunter weapon is ass.
I got to rank 5 with spell hunter and dk
Bro i got 10 legends from KFC .Prey for me.
I love your videos so much but i don't understand anything. This game is way to complicated for me ^-^
Lol totally wouldve lost if opponent just went face lol
The first few kobold packs i opened i got a golden runespear
Pirate warrior in 2016 lmao
how can i put this thing that you have in your right corner of your screen?
The deck tracker or the donation jar?
Only one clip?
I pulled a golden one should I just dust it
Yeah
Pirate Warrior in 2k18 LUL
20 16 you say...
why that warrior quit so fast he could win
NA legend= EU rank 19 Not everyone will get it
Zsombor Csomor funny and original comment!
Nice
It takes a special kind of stupid to think they're clever.
Are you talking to me?
matix676
Hey man that’s our word
Wait why u say it's the worst while it save your life once
Why is this warrior so obsessive about trading? Had he know face is the place, he would've won turns ago.
CAPS LOCK | DOES IT MAKE VIEWS GO UP?
Runespear OP as fuk
My freee weapon leg is runespear -.-
I came here just to hate on this piece of shit that I got and decided to disenchant. Had to do it before it becomes tier 1 for some obscure unforeseeable reason and start hating it even more.
NICE
