    It has been brought to my attention the video skips and freezes. My apologies. Not sure why it started doing that. I will have to figure out a way to fix it and reupload it.

      Haha that's why I started that clip there. Check out the guy giving the slow down sign to the left of the screen then just stepping back like "oh hell"

    Cool to see the NBC guys calling practice and qualifying for Speed! If only if things were like that today!

    What a cool silver scheme that Bobby Hamilton was driving at Indy.

    Nice, thanks for the compilation. Definitely some hard hits in there that I had indeed forgotten about.
    The one that comes to mind for me - and would be super-hard to find because it'd only be on an episode of RPM2night or something - is Pocono in June of '98 during qualifying... Jeff Gordon came out of turn 3 to take the checkered flag, got loose, brushed the wall with the rear end, but somehow still managed to win the pole.
    I haven't seen it since the day it happened, but it was pretty cool.

      controlpadblues I don't know if I remember the pocono one. I know he came off sideways at indy and won the pole. I'll do some investigation.

    • @controlpadblues
      @controlpadblues 6 років тому

      I remember going through your RPM 2nights from around the date qualifying would have been, but not the actual date it was on... the race was June 21\98, so the qualifying report on RPM would have been on June 19\98.
      I'm going to try to look up articles about it...

    • @controlpadblues
      @controlpadblues 6 років тому

      Took some digging, but this is quite literally the only place I see it mentioned.
      I knew I wasn't going crazy. haha

    The audio in that Michael Waltrip Bristol clip was remarkably clear. Makes you realize just how hard he hit the wall there.
    And that was with 2004 audio equipment...
    What's happened between now and then? Now we can't hardly hear the cars at all.

    • @JakeFromLateFarm
      @JakeFromLateFarm 6 років тому +1

      Brandon McKissic -- The sound is richer, more robust. And that's saying something considered that that clip was (probably) recorded on a VHS tape.
      The modern broadcasts sound muted. It's as though they've turned the gain waaay down on the cars and waaay UP for those screw-balls in the booth.

    • @brandonmckissic9665
      @brandonmckissic9665 6 років тому

      Jake from State Farm NBC has the cars kinda low compared to back then. I still feel that FOX captures them nicely.

    • @JakeFromLateFarm
      @JakeFromLateFarm 6 років тому +1

      Brandon McKissic -- Meh, I find them both to be mediocre. I don't know what changed, but it'd be nice if they changed it back.

    Several new incidents to me. Seen pictures of Tony Ave's crash but never video. It is a fun change up Dave, probably especially fun for you to do a different type of editing. But I definitely still love seeing those full qualifying session. 2004 Busch IRP, 2004 Cup Bristol II, 2005 Cup Martinsville I, 2005 Busch Darlington... would kill to see all of those in full at some point. Cheers!

    Watching old q sessions and practices is like watching an F1 race. When they show the DNQ cars you go "Who the hell is that?", there's only one car on screen at a time and you're only watching to see if anyone's going to crash.
