For the retelling, the devs introduced a "surplus" character. And then killed her off, just to keep things neat and tidy. Cold-ass Game of Thrones shit. Brutal!
Yeah they worked it back in pretty well, but it's very sad.
I feel like they were going for a weird mix of "I was horribly abused" and "I'm an annoying teen" for Alexander. With like 14-year-old vibes. At 18 and after his hard life, Alexander really should be very mature.
