Love the stud whiting!
yea buddy!
Nice whiting! Those devil rays are beautiful creatures.
Great video. Nice catch. I appreciate how you explain why you are going to fish a spot.
Thanks! Happy to show why and what I am doing.
Living vicariously through your videos! Great job bro!
Thanks buddy! Your overdue for a beach day!
Nice fish and chips lunch
Thanks for showing us the cooking part too! Great content as usual! 😊
Appreciate it! Good luck out there 🤘
5:58 tank of a whiting man!
Thanks Joey!
Great video, i out fishing this past weekend, just like in this video, a bunch of rays , and blue runners was caught, no stud Whiting's, no pompano's, i guess i will keep trying,or watch videos for awhile, while i wait and see what this summer to fall transition brings in,,, Stay Safe God Bless,,
I am hoping the summer to fall transition has a lot of Whiting. Usually a couple weeks where the bite is tough but man I am ready for some Fall fishing. Thanks Joseph and good luck out there!
Awesome video! I haven’t been able to catch any baitfish on the Gulf side this week at all. Lots of rays and jellyfish swimming through though!
Thanks! There were a lot of Jellies out on this day as well. I kept catching the tentacles. Good luck out there!
@@JustinReedFishing Thanks. Best of luck to you as well, and I hope to run into you sometime out there!
Great catches! I got back from Destin last week. Didn’t catch a thing. Got a nice blue hooked on an ES lure but he got off. My son in law dropped his Go Pro into the water and there were small yellow tails, a few smaller whiting and lady fish, but nothing was biting.
Maybe the hurricane disrupted the normal conditions but where we were the first bar was very close to shore and the second bar was farther out than we could cast, even walking up to our armpits to cast.
Fun trip though!
But we’re thinking about Pensacola or Gulf Shores next year, and maybe waiting til October.
Love the vids, bro! 👍
Sorry to hear the fish didn't cooperate. I'm sure it was still a great time making memories. Come one over! Have a great weekend.
Another great video Justin! I see when you get to the pole you are doing something with the bail or drag it seems. What are you having to do? Do you have it set loose or something? Thanks. -Neal
Hey Neal! Ya, I'm betting he is tightening his drag. You want to tighten your drag when casting, especially with braid, so the drag doesn't slip and the line cuts your finger. Then I always loosen it when I put it in the rod holder. Just in case something really big hits it. Then immediately tighten it on the strike. I hope that helps you.
Thanks Neal! When I have my rods in the sand spikes I keep the drag loose so when a big fish hits it can not pull my rod into the water. I have had some near misses in the past where the sand spike failed and almost lost my rod. Now it is just habit and always tighten the drag when I pick the rod up and adjust as needed.
@@kirkbroshears3527 exactly right!
Thanks brother

@@JustinReedFishing thanks for the great advice! Im not analyzing all these videos to soak up the knowledge... I promise! :) Okay, maybe I am!
Hey Justin! Are the flies bad over there? They have been terrible from Perdido to Fort Morgan. I was going to try Opal Beach in the morning. My favorite spot at Johnson is cut off due to the construction of new parking lots they are putting in.
The flies have been terrible! Luckily yesterday (this video) we had some south winds and the flies were gone. I have noticed the flies are typically bad during mild or north winds. Sucks about your spot. Good luck tomorrow!
Great catches! I went over to Panama City beach last week and fished the jetties. Have not been out this week but this video had me ready to go. So what size hook you use on the whiting rig I use similiar rig on 4 ft rods and 1 oz egg weight. I use size 4 or 6 size circle hook. What size do u use. Thanks for sharing
Any luck on the Jetties? I use a #6 Owner Mutu Light Circle hook ok the whiting rigs. Good luck out there Wesley!
@@JustinReedFishing I caught a couple reds with spoons and some mangrove snapper in the rocks with shrimp. I went down to Opal yesterday and caught a couple of whiting about 13-14” but it was a slow bite
Awesome video, I want to know are the #1 owner mutu light good for catching pompano are # 6 owner?
Both will catch Pompano. I typically use the #1 on my pompano rigs and the #6 on a fish finder or single dropper. I've even caught redfish on a #6 hook so it will catch larger fish too. When the water is really calm and clear I will downsize my hooks to the #6 for a more natural presentation. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much.
I'm curious, why do you toss the shrimp heads and not use them?
I tend to sling them off when casting so I just got into the habit of cutting them off. I probably should use them I know fish will eat them.
@@JustinReedFishing Fred will eat them
