I have 2 brown onion every day it very good for the lungs and potato is good for arthritis I cook this for Christmas in a dish with a lot of butter, and shallots bacon and bread crumbs on top in layers and Mexican spices.
I'd use basil and a balsamic glaze with mine and serve it as a side with blueberries as my red white blue side but thanks Karen for sharing this recipe with ❤❤❤God/Jesus Bless you and your family
Sounds jut great! Love both onions and tomatoes. Please consider digging up a bit of your herbs to start in pots to keep insider over the winter. You will be so happy to have fresh herbs in January! You can start most herbs just by pinching a bit off the plant and putting in water. As soon you see roots starting, pot them up!
Looks delicious Karen! 😋 I will definitely make at our families next barbecue 😊!!!! I might just put slices of mozzarella in between tomatoes just like a Caprese salad, and use basil, then when it comes out of the oven drizzle a thick Balsamic over it! Yum!!!!!! P.S. can you tell I’m Italian 😊
I am going to make this for 4th of July. I will use basil instead of parsley. Will let you know how it goes. Love you love your show. Happy 4th of July from the mountains of Pennsylvania.
What a great way to use up tomatoes that will be really coming in soon. That looks delicious Karen. Isn't great to be able to cut fresh herbs from your garden....I so love this time of year. Thanks for another great idea Karen. Gotta try this....luv everything in it. I would just add some sweet basil....one of my favorite herbs. Love and Hugs.
I make something similar, but I cut up a few slices of ham lunch meat, and add a few slices of red bell pepper as well. I sometimes put Philadelphia cream cheese with garlic and herb and spread the tart pastry with it, they add the onions, tomatoes, etc. on top. I usually have my tart as a main meal, with a nice big side salad.
Good Sunday morning. I’ve been up and busy. Taking a break to watch you before I start lunch. I’m having fried pork chops, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy for lunch. Left overs for supper. I make tomato pies. I make them in store bought pie crust. My recipe makes 2. Onions, tomatoes, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder and lots of Italian cheese. They’re delicious and really very easy. I will try your version. Love you bunches. Hi Stephanie and Pop. ❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸I’m sitting here talking to you while you’re putting this together. I look up and my hubby is looking at me. I said WHAT, don’t you talk to the people when you’re watching videos. He said NO. I said why not. He said because I understand they can’t hear me 😂😂😂😂😂.
Good morning Karen! I'm a new subscriber from Connecticut and I really enjoyed watching you prepare this tart. I'm going to make this today, but am going to use phyllo dough sheets instead of the biscuit dough because I have that on hand in my freezer. You are lovely and your recipes make me want to get into my kitchen and cook!
Let me know how it comes out. May I suggest, lay out your tomatoes on paper towels first and salt them. It will draw out some of the moisture. Phyllis is more delicate than the crescent dough and might not stand up to moisture of the tomatoes
This came out so well, Karen! I took your advice and salted the tomatoes on paper towel and also sauteed the onions to to caramelize them so they wouldn't have a lot of liquid too. Delicious!! ❤
Thank you Karen for inviting us into your home for this yummy tomato tart option. If you can, please describe the food more. Like the onion cooked thru, tomato sweet, and your cheese choices, were a good combination. Thank you!
It looks absolutely yummy, I hope that I can buy the dough roll in England, does anybody Know? love your videos Karen and your southern accent is delightful.
Haha, no matter which way you cut it, you should have made 2 to take 🥰. I’d always use sourdough and basil as ingredients, but from the beginning I wanted to use slices of sourdough bread as the base. I don’t know if the result would be soggy or crispy slices. These ingredients are all good 👍. Thanks Karen 😊
Hi there Karen I am glad to see someone using Goat Cheese because I can not have regular cheese I am allergic to them. The dish looks great and I will use different oil because I can not have any olives or olive oil. Thank You Diana Knight
This looks like something I'd make - only my husband is not a huge fan of tomatoes, sadly. I'm thinking I could make it with fewer tomatoes and add some mushrooms, maybe some sliced zucchini? some spinach? and I was waiting for you to sprinkle on some vinegar of some sort (balsamic). Perhaps you could add that when you serve it?
Saw what others wrote - definitely some bacon or prosciutto - black olives (kalamata!) - and basil. Capers even occurred to me. This might be good changed up with shrimp and seafood accoutrements.... Yes!
Karen thus tart looks so yummy. Tomatoes and onions are two of my favorite (along with many other ) vegetables to eat. I entertain often and this would be a great orderve to serve. I might add some sliced black olives to it. Thank you for this recipe.
If taken as a side dish because some people taste parsley as soap which is a real scientific thing I would use fresh Basil or for a East Indian version flavor with a teaspoon of home made family recipe of garam masala and cubed paneer for the cheese- - - yum.
Just discovered your channel and was very impressed with your style and presentation. You have a new subscriber! The recipe looks wonderful and i will give it a try. Does this tart get crispy on the bottom? Can leftovers be reheated? There are only two of us so would have left overs. I would use it as a main course. Yum. Thank you, Susan
Can I ask a favor? When you type in recipe in the description box, can you please put the recipe name at the top? I screen shot them and save them to Pinterist. Thanks ❣️ 🇨🇱
If you buy the Rada knives with aluminum (silver-looking) handles, do not put them in the dishwasher! The handles oxidize and turn rough & ugly. My mother has a ton of them and she's ruined almost every one this way. I can't stand to use them. Knives should never go in the dishwasher, but if you insist, buy the black handled ones.
Looks very beautiful. Thank you Mrs.Karen. You have such an amazing soul.
yum. sliced black olives would be good addition too.
U r so amazing Mrs. Karen love u
Just discovered your channel. Really enjoy watching your recipes. Thank you. ❤🇨🇦
Thank you. Welcome to our family ♥️
I WOULD ADD FRESH MINCED BASIL
And buy puff pastry!

Oh my, that tomato onion tart looks so good. Definitely will try.
Very beautiful ❤
Got to try this.
Looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
Question- tomatoes have a lot of juice. Was the bottom moist after baking? What about when it cooled?
It was slightly moist. Next time, I'd salt on paper towels and try to draw out some of those juices. However it cut beautifully and was delicious 😋

Oh yes!

Cilantro is the herb people taste soap. But yes, basil would be great. Your idea sounds good also.

Soft on the bottom. Yes, heat up in the iron skillet and it will crisp the bottom.
@@KarenJonesFoodFamily thank you for the tip. I have a cast iron griddle and that would work easily.
Dose rada have a kife for tomatoes only. I am looking for a good tomato knife. And a cheese knife
They do, it’s the best tomato knife I’ve found
Yes, check out the link in description box to my Rada store.
This looks delicious!
I love goat cheese, can’t wait to try this ❤from Mimi’s Country Cooking

No, never put knives on the dishwasher. It will ruin them.
