Point of order: at 21:40 the green player is meant to be taking a brick, but you placed a cube in the wood stockpile. No big deal, I love the way you structure your videos, keep up the good work!
Excited for this playthough - Merv and Ragusa are two of my favorite Euros of the last few years, but haven't had a chance to play/find a copy of this yet.
Great play thru. Thank you for taking the time to make. I’m not a fan of the components or board but the mechanics are really interesting. It’s now in my radar to pick up.
Not quite my kind of game, but I really appreciate the full playthroughs of mid-heavy euros even if it's only once in a while! I personally would find it very hard to balance when to trigger scorings and predict when they happen, I'm always bad at those kinds of mechanics in games.
It is tough, and honestly I regret not showing a 4p game. I think the contests and council seat majorities would have shown off the game better with another player.
At about 49:30 you placed your marker between the caravan and contribute. If you had placed between brick and contribute, you could have used your build action card to build a second trade house and had a more efficient caravan action. The contribute action made sense given the end game condition, but seemed less impactful than the brick+build. Just curious if you'd considered that option?
Honestly, I don't think I did consider that. I like your line of reasoning there, at that point of the game getting a trading house would have been quite helpful as far as engine building is concerned. The contribute was good for quick points, but I think I like your plan better than what I did :)
I can just imagine the chaos from bumping the table while playing this game, haha. Great playthrough as always!
Thanks for doing this playthrough :)
Interesting mechanic with the disc stacking & figuring out when it's best to force the next scoring.

Good catch, thanks for pointing that out! I've added a correction. Glad you liked the video :)
CORRECTIONS:
21:42 - Green accidentally took a wood instead of a brick!
48:36 - Yellow forgot to take their Contribute action.
Such an underrated game. Hopefully this brings it more attention!
This was fantastic, thanks for making this one Jon!

@@GettingGames have to agree ... this game plays best with 4 or 5 players
That was great! What a fun playthrough.

2020 is proving to be the longest year ever
Loved it ! Great mechanics indeed !
Muchas gracias

The player forced scoring is very interesting. Not sure how I feel about those player tokens used for scoring as part of the tie breaker though.
At 48:22 the yellow player never took their contribute action. Thanks for the playthrough.
Good catch! Thanks for pointing that out, I've added corrections.
My favorite game, hands down.
Very nice
