Some random mine in the Superstitions. There are tons of them but this one I haven’t seen before. I would be interested to know its location? Doesn’t look to be dug in bedrock, just cemented gravels.

How interesting is that to come across such a large mine opening. I woulda been going in there pistol first in case that mountain lion or what have you came out. Fascinating.
I was in the area from MN on 3/19 and did about a 3 mile loop hike in Lost Dutchman State Park; it was unplanned but how gorgeous it was out there. Its just so beautiful Im tempted to move back to AZ just to be near the superstitions.

False floors are very dangerous.

What strikes me is how close that place looks to the mine location in "Lust for Gold." That's called a 'blind prospect' because it isn't following a vein. Those were dug to crisscross a vein uncovered by a shaft. After they hit the vein those tunnels were usually used as haulage adits.
Looks like rhyolite they were tunneling in. I didn't see anything that even remotely looked like mineralization. What a waste of dynamite. I bet a few people lost their life savings in that hole...
It might be almost a shame if someone finally found the Lost Dutchman Mine and brought the mystery to an end.
I never realized that the dutchman was at Stanton arizona with weaver rich hill just up the mountainside. Do people still find nuggets there to this day. Worth bringing the family there to pan weaver creek or metal detector the hillside?
Sorry, but I don't see the "Horse's Head" but they dug all that up for a reason?
At 2:03 through the heart I see a horses head up on the top ridge. I see ears, eye, long nose, bridle, maybe a pack saddle? The one below at 3:54 that closeup looks more like a man's face to me.

They need a decoy bottle on display at the Superstition museum .
One was on display for 30 years but when I retired in 2010 I took it home.
Don't understand why you wouldn't investigate the hole.
