Loved the episode. A number of years agp Marshal Trimble gave a presentation on growing-up in Ash Fork. I asked him afterwards if he remembered “The Ash Fork Mercantile “. He smiled and told me several stories about how kind the owners were to little kids and how much fun they had upstairs watching people shop. Then he stopped and asked how I knew about the store. I told him the owners were my grandparents. He bowed his head, put his hand on my shoulder and somewhat tearing up, said they were wonderful people. I said they were. I walked away with tears coming down my face as I had another link to Myrt and Fred Boyd
Every story is just an adventure. You have such a masterful way of weaving a tale Jack. I'm seriously beginning to believe, that you, Hank and the late Charlie, are the real Treasure of the Superstitions. Respect.
I agree that these men are the treasure of the Superstition Mountains, but seems like we might be missing one other man who was also a former police officer but I can think of his name right now. I'll always remember and miss Charlie as it was him who introduced me to the Mysteries of the Superstitions! Just remembered the "other man" I was thinking of is Larry Hedrick who opened this video!
What a privilege it truly is to listen to Jack. His insight and knowledge is pure dedication to a T! I could listen to the man for days but i will take this 45 minute gem all day long. Stay safe and helathy Jack and can't wait for the next one. He is the pure gold of the Superstition mountains to me.
Just yesterday I was at the superstition museum. Its great worth the trip. Found a copy of Jacks Book..The lost El Dorado and it was signed by Jack. what a great 30 year span sorting out the facts book.

@@jacksanfelice8840 good day sir ,I just want to ask someone like yourself that has feet on the ground of this wild teran , and speaking of feet on the ground that is where this question is about to go .I ask you this in all honesty Jack have you ever had any encounters with sasquatch or any thing that you just didn't know what at the time you were dealing with . It seems to me when I go in to old land that was inhabited by native people's things start to happen ,it's gotten so bad that I find myself not exploring places that I loved to go at one time and I fear of not being hurt by these strange happenings but what I fear the most is seeing weird things that I just can't explain.thank you for what you have shared with us ,you Mr Felice you are a maverick of a man.
This man has an incredible catalogued memory, wow to be on so many adventures and remember all the details of each one. I too would travel with this fellow being a chocolate lover and zest for adventure.🧗♂️👍
Good story, the time flew by. Nice looking ore you brought back. Only question I have is, if the pit mine is the Lost Dutchman, then why doesn't the ore you found there look like the ,matchbox ore?
Another great tale by someone who has hiked the Superstition Mountains and has given us his firsthand experiences of the tough terrain encountered. I'll be waiting for the next installments from Jack.
Howdy Sir- you are one of the best storytellers I’ve ever heard. I thoroughly enjoy watching videos. Keep them coming. Thank you for putting this all together. God bless
Good morning sir thanks for the lifetime of hearing your stories! I was born in Scottsdale I have spent most of my life running through the Superstition Mountains mostly near Superior though. On my Grandfather's property . He owned the linemans house on the tracks just east of the Queencreek crossing. Hunted deer there since 1977 .. I was taught that the Superstition Mountains were worthless rocks without mineralisation. I found other things that I'd like to show somebody carvings giant statues, polished stones hidden pit mines that have been worked over and over and over again by different Generations. The carving of a Mustang head on a large Stone and Conquistador helmet. The same Hillside that this carving is on has Crescent moons cut vertical carvings into stone carved messages in Granite. I live in Apache Junction just answer me we can meet at Mickey D's
Scott when I finally got back after 5-6 years went by and suspected what it could be it was plugged up by erosion or dynamited shut. It still remains that way!!

Jack San Felice told us where the Dutchmans mine is at Roger's Canyon. Except people out there with camo canopies hiding the 70ft tunnel ladder, likely get shot what a shame.
@Rex True rogers ridge* trick in the trail is east of Miners Needle, not weavers. Massive heart shaped shadow appears at high noon. There is a stone house seen from Google earth made from rock slabs naturally that can be seen couple football throws south of the heart shadow. I believe they're only 5 minute ATV ride east of the minerals needle zig zag road at the first bend heading west instead go east off the road toward the heart shadow.
@@nodescriptionavailable3842 it's Dutchman trail #4. To the right of Peralta trailhead.
