Loved the episode. A number of years agp Marshal Trimble gave a presentation on growing-up in Ash Fork. I asked him afterwards if he remembered “The Ash Fork Mercantile “. He smiled and told me several stories about how kind the owners were to little kids and how much fun they had upstairs watching people shop. Then he stopped and asked how I knew about the store. I told him the owners were my grandparents. He bowed his head, put his hand on my shoulder and somewhat tearing up, said they were wonderful people. I said they were. I walked away with tears coming down my face as I had another link to Myrt and Fred Boyd
Every story is just an adventure. You have such a masterful way of weaving a tale Jack. I'm seriously beginning to believe, that you, Hank and the late Charlie, are the real Treasure of the Superstitions. Respect.
I agree that these men are the treasure of the Superstition Mountains, but seems like we might be missing one other man who was also a former police officer but I can think of his name right now. I'll always remember and miss Charlie as it was him who introduced me to the Mysteries of the Superstitions! Just remembered the "other man" I was thinking of is Larry Hedrick who opened this video!
*Priceless Stories! My favorite entertainment.* 🏆 From childhood, I was always enamored with Arizona. I moved to Nevada in 1992 and traveled Nationally with my job, visited Arizona several times, finally taking a road trip to Flagstaff and enjoyed the excursion so. I lived in Nevada 17 years, just loved the desert, High and Low. Had to leave and now am in a position to potentially move back to the area. Just trying to determine where I might enjoy experiencing. This man really took advantage of his choice and must have enjoyed it all so ... God bless him Great stories!
Thanks Beth look for my new book coming out this fall or sooner on as a followup to Lost El Dorado of Jacob Waltz title to be determined yet but I located tons of new information that verifies my contention on the LDM. Thanks for the nice remarks and yes I did pursue this search with a vengeance as the truth needs to be told!! Jack.

OK Jack go get yourself a drink and snack and come on back and continue your stories. lol. that's a fantastic story. someone always knows something but no one tells all and that keeps it a mystery of the superstitions. stay safe and take care.
This man has an incredible catalogued memory, wow to be on so many adventures and remember all the details of each one. I too would travel with this fellow being a chocolate lover and zest for adventure.🧗♂️👍
Good morning sir thanks for the lifetime of hearing your stories! I was born in Scottsdale I have spent most of my life running through the Superstition Mountains mostly near Superior though. On my Grandfather's property . He owned the linemans house on the tracks just east of the Queencreek crossing. Hunted deer there since 1977 .. I was taught that the Superstition Mountains were worthless rocks without mineralisation. I found other things that I'd like to show somebody carvings giant statues, polished stones hidden pit mines that have been worked over and over and over again by different Generations. The carving of a Mustang head on a large Stone and Conquistador helmet. The same Hillside that this carving is on has Crescent moons cut vertical carvings into stone carved messages in Granite. I live in Apache Junction just answer me we can meet at Mickey D's
You ever think ol Jacob drained your batteries in your flashlight so you wouldn't get caught by those guys with guns, so you could live to tell us this fascinating story!?
These stories are wonderful. I have always been interested in the Superstitious and the Dutchman and these stories are so well enjoyed... of course I subscribed, lol. Thank you.
Amazing story telling and great adventures into the past and present. True passion for these mountains and the people that lived over the centuries searching for gold and this elusive mine. Appreciate your time making these. The documentation of your travels is history that will serve for many many years.
By far one of the best stories yet. Jack, you are a wealth of knowledge and I enjoy every video on this page. Thanks to everyone involved in keeping the history alive.
The Superstition Mnts are creepy as hell. I've done several backpacking trips into the Superstitions, and it feels like your being watched the whole time. We heard lots of weird noises at night, like footsteps and odd whistling noises. Nothing bad has ever happened, but you feel like you're on the verge of something strange happening at any moment.
There is a mine shaft or cave north west of Four Peaks and the old solders road. From a old ranchers site off of the dirt road that leads to Four Peaks summit parking lot and that goes over the mountain to Roosevelt lake. From the top of the cave or mineshaft maybe a person can see weavers needle through a couple of the peaks of Four Peaks possibly. I didn't hike up to the mineshaft/cave so I am not sure what's in there. But it is north of the dirt road up in Four Peaks.
That mine IS not the Dutchman. It has been explored before and that is too far north for the other clues. To read more about the clues see PC Picknell's and Herman Petrasch's UA-cam videos-That may clarify things for you but thanks!!

It can consume a man so easily. Lots of fun .I always kept my spots a secret as well .Thank you for these great stories and videos I'm hooked.
