  • The Chhattisgarh Jungle Trek is also known as Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’ Trek, as it is believed that these jungles of Central India inspired the celebrated author’s famous 1894 children’s book. Check out some other mesmerising treks: indiahikes.com...
    Trekking in Chhattisgarh promises to set your imagination ablaze as you’re transported to the mysterious world of Kipling’s Jungle Book. Other popular treks in Chhattisgarh include the Jatmai Temple Trek and Raipur to Gupteshwar Trek.
    The Chhattisgarh Jungle Trek lies in the heart of the Guru Ghasidas National Park. This Chhattisgarh trek winds through deep forests, a cave goes alongside a river and there is an air of omnipresence of wildlife.
    Chhattisgarh Jungle Trek Gopad River: The four-day trek includes a day of walking on the Gopad River, which meanders through the forests and finally emerges out of them. The crystal-clear, cool waters swirl around our ankles. Trekkers have never experienced walking on a riverbed like this for a full day's trek of over 5 kilometres. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments.
    Now, not many have heard of Guru Ghasidas National Park. Yet, at 1,440 sq km, it is larger than the Ranthambore National Park and Kanha Tiger Reserve put together. Or bigger than Bandipur and Mudumalai National Park put together, which makes this trek inside a large and relatively unexplored forest a thrilling experience.
    What makes this trek even more special is that you need the Forest Department to help you get inside a national park. These are reserved areas, and access to the common man is prohibited. So, with the help of the Forest Department, we get to explore a real, wild jungle untouched by safari tourism. It is not often that you get to experience the jungles of our country like this.
    The trek is meant for those who want to experience trekking through the wilderness. If jungles and wildlife are fascinating to you, then you must do the Chhattisgarh Jungle Trek.

      See Baster area is much much more explored and got much more exposure than our Surguja region chhattisgarh govt also promotes that area only they are building multiple resorts and amenities their main focus is to develop and promote only South Chhattisgarh so we cannot expect any major development in tourism sector in our Surguja Division in this tribal area we don't have factories our any major industries for employment the only sector we have ability to grow is Tourism but our Surguja region (North Chhattisgarh) has been neglected since the state formation we also have beautiful jungles plateau hill tops some of the most beautiful waterfalls from newly formed Manendragarh district to the beautiful Jashpur district every district has it's own distinct things our local authorities also did nothing to promote tourism to This region on national level the social media influencers of our region also busy to promote South Chhattisgarh we have no other option than to rely on tourist coming from other states special thanks to @Indiahikes for conducting multiple treks on our this beautiful National park from baikunthpur Surguja if you love plateau slops fully covered with meadows and some unique landscapes so you'll definitely check out Mainpat and Jashpur area of Northern Chhattisgarh you will be amazed by the beauty of these places the Surguja(North Chhattisgarh) has so much to offer best time to cover is Sep - Feb thank you ✌️✌️✌️

    I did this in 3rd week of Jan'22; this is definitely not as great as IH claims. The jungle is huge but it is same vegetation throughout and you cannot spot any animals (of course it is luck) but there is no sign of them.
    In fact the local forest officer asked us as why we are coming here? what is there to see? The locals also asked her the same question it seems.
    I'm really curious to know why Indiahikes is promoting this trek so much! It is hyped and overrated in this video.

    Not a great trek! It's very hot, the jungle is not lush and there is nothing interesting in the trek. Opt for a better trek!

      Visiting in winter would be better...You should cover main paat of surguja sometime..

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  Рік тому

      It's unfortunate that you see it that way. If you time the trek in winter, it's not very hot. And the whole day's river walk and lakeside camp keep you cool. The two experiences are also incredibly unique, we haven't seen such a beachy river walk elsewhere.

      @@Indiahikes I trekked there, so I have given my objective opinion. You need to be transparent and honest about the conditions there before you promote any trek. Please don't hide facts for commercial reasons!

      @@Indiahikes I have been here in CG since last three years somewhere in Bastar. In India, only a few patches of jungles are offering activities like trek since they are restricted and such activities are not legally recommended and permitted. Whatever I saw in the video, is a piece of beauty of Central India. First we need to learn how to find beauty amongst nature and make memories of a lifetime. If we dont grow or cultivate our eyes, better not to pollute the nature.
      These places are so serene, pollutionless and the tribals here are really simple and pure hearted. I also would like the fact that if fewer people like it and embark on. I dont want the sanctity of these places to be maligned and destroyed by hell crowd of unaware, ill trained trekkers. Let it be less popular......

      Nahi. People are not allowed in these forests. Indiahikes gets special permissions to run this trek, along with the forest guards.
