  • I finally made my own handmade paper! I was so intimidated by other tutorials using a deckle that I didn't think I could do it...but hey, I figured it out!
    It's been a while since my last video...school started and I took some time to chill, but I am inspired to make more videos now. Sometimes you can get into a bit of a slump, but I have lots of ideas waiting to be filmed and edited 📸
    If you're reading this, thank you, and I hope you have a great rest of your day (hopefully including some paper making 😉).

    ✨ Answering some FAQ's:
    Cleaning the blender is not hard at all! Everything comes off easily on its own, and rinsing it with a bit of soap cleans everything thoroughly. It's just paper, water, and food coloring, so nothing toxic to worry about.
    If you don't have a mesh bag, you could use cheese cloth, fine metal mesh, or even a piece of fabric. Just something that you sponge the water off of.
    Also, if you don't have a blender or don't want to use one, soaking the paper in water for a few hours will soften it, and then you can use your hands to mush it into pulp. I hope this helps! Thank you for all your lovely comments! 😊

    • @ash-ql1gw
      @ash-ql1gw 3 роки тому +3

      Can I really mush it correctly?
      I mean would it get wrong?

    • @thegreenestlaw
      @thegreenestlaw  3 роки тому +8

      @@ash-ql1gw I'm sure you will do a great job mushing, but of course you will get even better with practice. You could also cut up your paper before soaking if you want to ensure maximum mushiness!

      Heyy! Can I use this for my project? I'll put this video in the reference list. Also, can you mix it finely without a blender?? And in other tutorials, they said to soak it. Should I still do it or is there no need for that??

    • @thegreenestlaw
      @thegreenestlaw  3 роки тому +1

      @@DGXD-te3iq Of course you can use this video! And yes, you can do it without a blender. You'll want to soak it so that the paper gets soft, and then mix it up the best you can with your hands. I hope your project goes well!

      thank you so much! It's either the 0.38mm or 0.5mm ballpoint pen from Muji (I use both of them regularly). I recommend them, and there are lots of colors too. I hope you find a great pen, I love shopping for stationery!

    Not sure about this I never tried it, but I am thinking you could put the wet paper pulp in a juicer and the water would collect in one side of the juicer while the damp paper pulp would collect in the other part of the catch the pulp. Never tried it though may work may not. It's just a thought

      @@thegreenestlaw Not sure if it would work though might strain out the paper pulp alone with the water if the paper is too saturated and broken down. I would think .

    I did this all from this video. and my paper still isn't dry after 3 days! Did I not blend it long enough? I used a rap instead of a paper towel to pat it all dry, which i think works better. but maybe not, it's still not dry!! I want to make more paper for the notebooks I'm starting to sell, but not if it truly is this laborious and long of a process, is it always this much work/ takes a week?

      huh, that seems weird, did you try getting as much water out with a sponge as you could? also, you could try using a blow dryer or setting it in the sun, but make sure it doesn't curl! I hope it works, your notebooks sound amazing!

    Im just wondering if you can fan bake it in the oven or would it mess up the paper? This is so nice tho i might try it out (instead of studying lolol)

      ooh I have no idea what fan baking is...but putting paper in the oven sounds a bit flammable..? I would so some more research hehe (ah yes I love crafting instead of studying too :)

    Hi ! What if I don't have a mold,mesh bag, or cheese cloth, what should I use? Is a handkerchief effective?

    • @thegreenestlaw
      @thegreenestlaw  3 роки тому +2

      yeah, I think that'd work! anything that can hold the paper without falling apart, you don't need a mesh bag specifically
