4:19 How about using multiband dynamics to compress only those parts of the non-vocals that are fighting with vocals? I mean, is there a reason to compress bass frequencies; wouldn't they complement each other? Also, have you any experience with a pitch-tracking eq plugin that tracks a monophonic instrument or vocal (e.g. SurferEQ), I haven't, I wonder if it causes some weird phenomena as the eq settings change along with it? 8:50 That zooming in on 'home zone' is a nice concept. Tip to listen in mono for EQ changes is a good one.
Nice :_> This masking thing always gives me headaches. I always forget that it’s actually easy to make everything sound perfect on its own, and that usually means round, rich, all-over-the-freq-spectrum sounds that are amazing on their own buuuuuut then later they are a pain in the ass to make get on well with others. EDIT: your easter egg text blocks are getting harder and harder to catch!! They are always worth it, though.
omg haha well I very much agree with this!! always a puzzle trying to put all the sounds together. I'll try to slow down the Easter eggs a bit next time hehe :D
It's true that I have a long way to go, especially before I will be able to produce the most personal music possible, leaving aside all the stereotypes...this is undoubtedly what takes the most time.. .but as my DAW education also takes time, well I have the possibility of working on both front at the same time...I love your personality, your uniqueness, what you give off; so, naturally I went to see what you do, as a singer, and ...BADABOOM!!! what a desappointment! You are so much better than your videos (the staging really doesn't highlight you) and the style of music (already exploited by so many "Bimbos")... You are an EXTRAORDINARY person for MEDIOCRE music... it's heartbreaking to "confort" people that it can achieve what they want ( as you tell) and settle for a piece of crap that really doesn't measure up to what you could do... No misunderstanding, I'm sharing all of this with you, because I think it would be a big waste not to talk about it or let you take a completely wrong direction. Having no emotional connection with you, it is easier for me to be direct...and that's because I was SO charmed by what I saw on your DAW tutorials (but not the rest )...Good luck dear Lillian, you deserve to be known for who you are, not what you want to appear...a friend who wishes you well
