The dealer I bought mine from is in Missouri and he also carries Sherco. I can usually get parts from him within 3 days if he has them in stock in about 5 days since he has to order them. His shop is about a 5-hour drive from me.
@@lackingpoint Sounds like you have a good dealer and that's great. If I buy another bike and want dealer support I will have to pick another brand or travel hours from my house. Closest Beta dealer is 2 hours and Sherco further. KTM is everywhere.
I got to ride the 390 RRS recently and it was hands down the most fun I have had on a dirt bike. The fuel range is a little concerning though so I’m wondering if the newer designs will help with that. Nice video!
And the parts availability is why they wont gain as much as we think because people prefer ktm and husky and honda etc because they can get tons upon tons of parts easily :) but hopefully eventually it gets better for the other brands like beta

Beta 300 rr race edition is a simple bike to maintain & better then the pumpkins But best of all they seem to have a good reputation if there’s a problem from factory & honouring warranty work long after the warranty finished & it’s still a low hr machine & the race edition bikes look just beautiful
The beta’s standard seat height is a cool 10mm lower then a Husqvarna, but the downside is the ground clearance. The 2020 beta only has 320mm of clearance compared to the Husqvarna’s 360mm (TE250tpi). Surely that 40mm difference would mean a lot more foot peg catching and scraping on obstacles out on the trails? Have you noticed this height distance in the past between the beta and huski/ktm’s?
Enduro Pik Its still got the same cases with a black plastic plug for a kicker kit. I haven’t personally seen the kit but I assumed its just the idler gear and ratchet with a small kicker.
What about the gasgas - I have been thinking of the gasgas as my next bike 250 xc / 300 xc - have you tested 1 yet - KYB suspension , e-start & kicker - kehein carb - FMF exhaust , Nissan brakes , mapping everything I am looking for. Reviews (test riders) love the bike.
gg300 with sss KYB any day. I took 2 clicks off the front and never touched the suspension again. Compared to WP on my last 3 KTMs which all took me 12 months each to break them in and get them valved right
I've had 3 Betas, trainer, 300. Good bikes overall. My only complaints, weight, vibration, suspension. If they could shave some weight and use KYB suspension, for sure they'd be a ktm killer.
You forgot to mention it is not ORANGE YUCK. For me I would buy the used Restored Husky 400 Cross that has been on Facebook marketplace for 4300 bucks. Light, fast and bulletproof.
I have a Beta 390rr and KTM 500 EXC. EXC is my main go to bike, 390 rr is back up. KTM has much better dealer network and has been more reliable for me.
Looks like they’ve eliminated the kick starter as well. Big mistake for riders like me who have Rekluse Clutches. I’m on the 3rd starter on my 300 XCW and I’d be SOL without a kick starter.
I added the Kickstarter just for piece of mind. (2018 300 race edition) I have only used it twice just to test it after Install. My dealer sold it to me at his cost and shave a bunch off the retail for me. One more thing to note, 110 hours on it and no engine trouble to date.
I'm almost 5 hours drive to a beta dealer. I'm sticking with YAMAHA bikes, sleds, ATV's and outboard motors. My YAMAHA dealer ( TRAILSIDE SPORTS, in Espanola Ontario) just took on KTM about a year ago. Nice to finally have ktm support back in Espanola.
Every single bike on the beta website says it's either unavailable for sale or that that model is not available for BYOB. I was very excited about that but turns out it's not a thing. Very lame
I think Beta is taking a queue from KTM yrs ago and filling gaps. Nice that Beta now offers the Carb and 200. Kudos for adding the CB on the 250/300. Hopefully the race edition will have no oil pump. Always good to have options. Never thought I would consider anything but Orange but now Red is on my radar - and it’s not a Honda.
This is not necessarily gospel but I have heard that actual Beta dealers are supposed to carry in stock every part or nearly every part to rebuild a bike. They also apparently get shipments in every two weeks to stock back up. That's just what I've heard. I'm pulling for them because alot of these Australian dudes are swearing by them and I want them to get some traction in the US so I can buy one.
Good vid Kyle ,good to see beta are going counterbalanced on their 2 strokes ,i will be sticking with my TX ,s and exc,s KTMs developement has forced other manufactures to lift their game which is great news for the average punter, cheersd
Beta’s are fantastic I’ve road most of the 2019’s counterbalance will be a huge plus! Only negative is the Nissin brakes. Did they kill the xtrainer???
Mate of mine has the 390RR. Started off loving it, but then it does some quirky stuff which takes some enjoyment out. The fuel tank is too small, he fitted the kick starter, but if the battery is flat it can't be kick starter, and it has had some charging problems. The stand has a very small foot and trends to dig in and fall over in the bush. Looks like they might be at least thinking about these problems.
I love my 18 XT but the suspension sucks, had to redo it all, I may have to trade in and try a 2020 though! It’s the KTM XC or the Beta RR now. By the way my Beta dealer is awesome and has a ton of parts.
I absolutely love the look at those Beta, I fear the cost of parts. I once had a husaberg which one of the older models and parts weren't terrible to get you just had to order them, but the price was high

@@kaisuhina8024 I found the feel of the frame and front forks to be very rigid on the 2 strokes, the lack of a counter balancer was very noticeable, and I didn't have a ton of fun riding them. The KTM/Husky feels more advanced, more refined, and more capable in my opinion.
Cruise Suski well now they have counterbalance
@@kaisuhina8024 I will definitely be open to trying the new 2020 models with these changes!
I have an 18 300RR with 150 hours and love it. It’s been reliable with its oil injection as well.
The $64,000 question is.. will they go TPI??
They’re jetting out of the box is terrible almost no matter where it ends up in the world. I did the JD kit which really cleans it up but it’s not the most performance oriented thing to do.
No matter.. my bike is “Beta” than yours KTM!
Looked at uk website, very confusing with the menus, screen kept changing, was no prices on the bikes, the dealer finder didn't work. The bikes can be great but the first impression put me off. Thank you for sharing
I had the privilege to test out a 2019 beta 200(non counterbalanced) and it was nice, but not quite the same as my '07 200xc. Then rode a new TM300 (counterbalanced) and it was game changing. Smoothest, most fun bike I've ridden. I can only imagine what the new beta wpuld be like.
Wonder how much he got paid for this infomercial 🤣😂
Probably nothing. You can bet he wants a 2020 in his garage for testing though
Is it possible these days for someone to NOT throw unfounded, purely speculative gripes and accusations? SkinnySkinch, do you just love to say something to get adoration from a bunch of zombie conspiracy obsessed fools?
Does not sound very nice does it? I don't know you, you are probably a great person. See what I mean? Sucks to hear that kind of stuff, although it is so common now. It is not me and I will not do that to someone. I really don't mean those accusations SkinnySkinch, just trying to make a point.
Yes, I may be getting my feathers ruffled a little too easy and at least this comment does border on the harmless ribbing that a friend may throw at a friend. Probably the other true 'Keyboard Warrior Troll' comments have me a bit too sensitive. My apologies, I really don't want to be a keyboard attack warrior myself.
Kyle has a great deal of enthusiasm for what he does. That is why he does it. I for one enjoy how excited he gets to see new bike stuff. I don't have a Beta, probably would not buy one, more because I really like the bike I have now, ride just enough to have a lot of fun, but not wear it out too quickly. But, I might buy one if something changed for me and I find myself back in the market.
And, I can certainly appreciate what they are doing. If I saw those press releases myself I would probably be telling everyone I met about them. I don't have any sponsorship or youtube channel. This is exciting stuff for all of us who ride!
If you have a legitimate criticism based on facts, bring it up. If you are just having a lousy morning and feel like kicking someone because you can, try something different. Try to become a mature person and learn more about what you are saying, or don't say anything at all. Put some constructive criticism out there that does not sound like an attack or some condescending 'I know you are compromised'
C'Mon people, get of the Troll bandwagon. Stop it with this kind of crap Enough!
Toldea34 100% agree. Drives me crazy.
@@Toldea34 i understand your point however I don't understand your reaction... little upset this morning? I would say to you watch the video, then watch a TV commercial and spot me the difference, but I know you've already watched it and would still disagree with me. I've watch Kyle's videos for years, used to love the channel, nowadays not so much it's hit or miss. A lot of videos are no different than any other big UA-camr that turn their real channel into an advertisement. The greatest thing about youtube has always been the real factor. That's my opinion on the matter. Your welcome to yours. Ride safe. Cheers.
@@SkinnySkinch Actually, no yo don't understand my point, you ignored my point altogether. I am referring to your comment to illustrate how everyone is throwing shit at others so quick and easy. Why do you feel compelled to comment this way?
I am not at all discussing how or whether UA-cam is changing.
I am pointing out how freely and readily everyone is to put someone else down. You ignored that and chose to focus on UA-cam content, throw a little jab at me and use that to validate your need to hurl something negative at Kyle.
I am simply asking that everyone start thinking about their condescending attitude and their baseless accusations and put downs.
I actually am a fairly happy get along with everyone kind of guy. I like the idea of if you have nothing nice to say,,,,
Dude I hope you get to try a 2020 300rr ASAP!!! :)
Recently sold my 2018 KTM 300 XCW 6 Days due to a broken leg. I was bummed to find out that next year when I buy a new bike, that the KTM's don't have carbs anymore...Beta might be worth a look
TPI is the future, its been used in sleds for 10 years. just needs to work the kinks out
You can still get a carb bike my buddy just bought a 19 with a carb
@@klasmvm4966 Yeah, I don't care if it's the future or not. I'd much rather have a Smart Carb or Lectron that I can easily tune with a screwdriver that will never strand me due to some electronic glitch.
Bravo 4 Adventure first off; lectrons are american garbage, its just as bad as anything that hellhole pumps out
second: you never see any sleds guys get stranded due to electrical issues, why would this be any different?
third: get onboard of the future and realise that the old way of thinking almost always is wrong and that innovation is what keeps us alive
@@klasmvm4966 tell that to the polaris guys whose sleds were running lean and blew top ends! Thats also why newer sleds cost $15,000
About parts, I don't own a Beta, but I bought a Sherco off of a Beta/Sherco dealer.
I can get parts delivered to my door in 2-3 days off of the internet, while I'm still waiting for parts from the dealer from 2years ago.
That wouldn't be Bonecutter Beta would it?
@@lackingpoint My closest dealer is South Mountain Cycle in PA.
At Sherco Off Road I can order parts 24/7and they usually get to my door in 2-3 days
If you order parts, which all serious riders do, then you must have easy access to them.
You MUST get your hands on a 200, I predict this will not only be easy to ride, but also the funnest!
I got to ride the 390 RRS recently and it was hands down the most fun I have had on a dirt bike. The fuel range is a little concerning though so I’m wondering if the newer designs will help with that. Nice video!
Great all the new bikes are so good and high-tech I can no longer afford to ride.
Priced me right out of the market.
And the parts availability is why they wont gain as much as we think because people prefer ktm and husky and honda etc because they can get tons upon tons of parts easily :) but hopefully eventually it gets better for the other brands like beta
Betas with jet kits and power screws are absolutely alive.
Please review Gas Gas EC300 or XC300. They are incredible
They do get great reviews and I'm sure they're awesome bikes but why are they so heavy for a 2 stroke seems like it defeats the purpose when they weigh more than a 500exc
Scratch what i just said the brand new models are heaps lighter than last years hahah
@@tcmx712 i rode a 2018 xc300 it was incredibly good. The previous models were def heavy.
@@tcmx712 the gasgas is heavy on paper but if u ride it u don't feel it
try it they are awesome
mention i said try not buy except u love them like i do ✌
Where I live now is more open desert style racing so I've switched to a 450 but if I move back home down south into forests I'll be looking at them or a Beta 200 with the amount of people loving em Cheers
I just hope that Beta doesn't sell out to KTM like Husqvarna did, that way they can keep innovating at their own pace.
Beta 300 rr race edition is a simple bike to maintain & better then the pumpkins
But best of all they seem to have a good reputation if there’s a problem from factory & honouring warranty work long after the warranty finished & it’s still a low hr machine
& the race edition bikes look just beautiful
The beta’s standard seat height is a cool 10mm lower then a Husqvarna, but the downside is the ground clearance. The 2020 beta only has 320mm of clearance compared to the Husqvarna’s 360mm (TE250tpi). Surely that 40mm difference would mean a lot more foot peg catching and scraping on obstacles out on the trails? Have you noticed this height distance in the past between the beta and huski/ktm’s?
Got me a KTM 450 EXC along with my Beta 250RR 2 stroke. Ultimate sweet spot for me, couldn't be happier!!
Tm is even better and they treat u like a pro with extra and parts and setup
I am very happy that I found your channel! Great content!
Dont forget the option to add a kick starter. Which you cant do on a 2020 ktm... if im not mistaken.
Enduro Pik you can add them. Its a kit
@@tomthebattleaxe even on the 2020? I thought they did away with it completely.
Enduro Pik Its still got the same cases with a black plastic plug for a kicker kit. I haven’t personally seen the kit but I assumed its just the idler gear and ratchet with a small kicker.
Ill wait and see how the lower crank bearings hold up plus some models had issues with the premix hose dryrotting and guys cooking their top end!
What about the gasgas - I have been thinking of the gasgas as my next bike 250 xc / 300 xc - have you tested 1 yet - KYB suspension , e-start & kicker - kehein carb - FMF exhaust , Nissan brakes , mapping everything I am looking for. Reviews (test riders) love the bike.
only downside is you can`t get one new.
nice as but i still choose Sherco over everything :)
i prefer beat because im short
gg300 with sss KYB any day.
Funny thing is that a bunch of guys who are complaining about not having a carburetor option on the ktms can't jet a carb to save there lives.
What do you think about new sherco's factory models with kyb suspensions?
I own one, quite literally the best bike I've ridden (and I try to ride as many as I can on group rides we do) 👍
You forgot to mention it is not ORANGE YUCK.
So, what are we seeing here ?!? Just a walk through of changes of specs, no real review or testing, only desktop impressions ?
Thank you! What is your personal preference for hard enduro - 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
Looks like they’ve eliminated the kick starter as well.
Big mistake for riders like me who have Rekluse Clutches.
I’m on the 3rd starter on my 300 XCW and I’d be SOL without a kick starter.
Beta don't make an XCW... Their starters are reliable ;-)
As Jarvis has said... Rekluse is Rubbish
Andrew, let’s play nice.
I’m a 72 year old guy with a fused left wrist. I wouldn’t be riding without my Rekluse.
They’re doing that for saving weight and you don’t need it anymore. But for people like you, you can buy one.
I added the Kickstarter just for piece of mind. (2018 300 race edition) I have only used it twice just to test it after Install. My dealer sold it to me at his cost and shave a bunch off the retail for me. One more thing to note, 110 hours on it and no engine trouble to date.
might have to go look at this...was wanting a husky 300, but if the beta doesn't vibrate....one might find its way into my garage.
Love my 390’s. Best bike made in my opinion
Beta a KTM killer, I say nope! KTM still a few years ahead
Very lame
Beta is good but GasGas is Wayyyy better. GasGas is the real KTM killer. Beta is marketing hard tho.
Just bought a gas gas xc250...super excited haven't had the chance to ride it yet since I'm out of state
I think Beta is taking a queue from KTM yrs ago and filling gaps. Nice that Beta now offers the Carb and 200. Kudos for adding the CB on the 250/300. Hopefully the race edition will have no oil pump. Always good to have options. Never thought I would consider anything but Orange but now Red is on my radar - and it’s not a Honda.
Entire new bike I hope not Entire New Quality Control Problems. Fingers crossed.
You should have just named me as that one short guy 🤣
I'm with ya man, 5'7... I cant get on most bikes!
It's the bike, but it's the nut between the bars that make it go.
Not true... My dealer ordered a new starter for my 15 300 race edition, among other parts and it took 2 weeks time to get them in.
@@carlatamanczyk3891 Maybe that's what they're saying they want to move towards or maybe it's just misinformation I don't know.
Good vid Kyle ,good to see beta are going counterbalanced on their 2 strokes ,i will be sticking with my TX ,s and exc,s KTMs developement has forced other manufactures to lift their game which is great news for the average punter, cheersd
Ordered my 2020 300 yesterday.
Always eye the small beta lineup at my local Yamaha dealer, always wanted to test ride one!
Ground clearance:
KTM- 370mm
Beta- 320mm
That’s a significant difference for hard enduro.
@maxgerston maybe max can chime in on this.
xc_trail_guy
It’s a significant spec that should me mentioned, especially if you’re on the fence over which bike.
2020 models has bigger foot on the kickstand.
I am seriously considering choosing Beta over KTM for my first real Bike. 250 RR.
One of these days i would love to meet you in person i love your channel awesome videos
🤣 when will the DBC logo change colors to rep beta?
TPI was a huge mistake :D
I would be interested in checking out a Beta but there doesn’t seem to be many dealers in my state which puts me off if I need something repaired
Love ur videos keep them coming mate🤙🤙
"Love,love, love the race edition"
Hate to say I told you so but.... Lol 🤣
Welcome to the dark side!!
more like Welcome to the Resistance brother
I love my 18 XT but the suspension sucks, had to redo it all, I may have to trade in and try a 2020 though! It’s the KTM XC or the Beta RR now. By the way my Beta dealer is awesome and has a ton of parts.
Had my heart set on a KTM, & now... I don't know, however, I'm headed over to Beta's website,...
I absolutely love the look at those Beta, I fear the cost of parts. I once had a husaberg which one of the older models and parts weren't terrible to get you just had to order them, but the price was high
