I can't justify jumping ship on KTM. For what might be a better bike with parts availability issues. Let's be honest here... The Betas for 2020 are probably very nice bikes, But when i see people make comments like "These are KTM Killers" It's just a bunch a bar talk.. Most people can't ride these bikes to there full potential in the first place. Nobody in their right mind should expect to be a better rider just because they tossed a leg over a new bike... The power of Marketing a new product or model is amazing though....

My family has been strictly atm for the last 8 plus years until 8 or so months ago when my dad got a 500rs beta which I have to say is an incredible bike, I have had ridden ktm 450s, 525xcs in the past as well as 525 sxs, 250xcfs, and two 250sx two strokes and I can say with absolute certainty that for most offroad applications the beta chassis is astonishing, my dads 500 is insane as far as handling is concerned, I don't completely agree with the engine package having ridden the torque monster ktms but it also isn't a problem, it's just different, but what the 500 specifically lacks in low end power makes up for it in its "flickability" and just an over planted and stable characteristics, it's an all around weapon in any nasty rough high speed offroad application as well as incredibly maneuverable in tight woods single track. Bottom line they're an all around offroad dream. I've personally known Tim pilge the American importer since I first learned how to ride and can say with absolute certainty anybody who bought a beta will be completely satisfied with everything about it, rather it being getting replacement parts or simply just looking for technical support or what have you. It's a very satisfying product all the way around and I look forward to when I can purchase one for myself. And to add to that I still love my ktms, the past ones that I've ridden and the current one I have but the beta's ergonomics are just on another level

I have an 18' 300 rr, a 19' 200 rr, an 18' Scorpa factory and a 2001 Rev 3. I love my Betas! Found a sweet deal on the Scorpa so got it but that thing will kill you! Spent last Christmas visiting the ER when the Factory whisky throttled me into an immovable boulder. Pizza sized bruise between my hip and ribs!!
Love all the Betas but that Rev 3 is an absolute hoot on the trails!! Took it up Holy Cross trail in Colorado last weekend and she was a' skipping and bouncing her happy heart out!! New puston last year and that 270 is more than enough! Great, tough workout but at 147# you sure can throw it around. And the 6 speed tranny is great on the open sections. It'll do probably 50-60 mph. Life is good!

Is it possible these days for someone to NOT throw unfounded, purely speculative gripes and accusations? SkinnySkinch, do you just love to say something to get adoration from a bunch of zombie conspiracy obsessed fools?
Does not sound very nice does it? I don't know you, you are probably a great person. See what I mean? Sucks to hear that kind of stuff, although it is so common now. It is not me and I will not do that to someone. I really don't mean those accusations SkinnySkinch, just trying to make a point.

Probably the other true 'Keyboard Warrior Troll' comments have me a bit too sensitive. My apologies, I really don't want to be a keyboard attack warrior myself.
Kyle has a great deal of enthusiasm for what he does. That is why he does it. I for one enjoy how excited he gets to see new bike stuff. I don't have a Beta, probably would not buy one, more because I really like the bike I have now, ride just enough to have a lot of fun, but not wear it out too quickly. But, I might buy one if something changed for me and I find myself back in the market.
And, I can certainly appreciate what they are doing. If I saw those press releases myself I would probably be telling everyone I met about them. I don't have any sponsorship or youtube channel. This is exciting stuff for all of us who ride!

Try to become a mature person and learn more about what you are saying, or don't say anything at all. The beta’s standard seat height is a cool 10mm lower then a Husqvarna, but the downside is the ground clearance. The 2020 beta only has 320mm of clearance compared to the Husqvarna’s 360mm (TE250tpi). Surely that 40mm difference would mean a lot more foot peg catching and scraping on obstacles out on the trails? Have you noticed this height distance in the past between the beta and huski/ktm’s?

Mate of mine has the 390RR. Started off loving it, but then it does some quirky stuff which takes some enjoyment out. The fuel tank is too small, he fitted the kick starter, but if the battery is flat it can't be kick starter, and it has had some charging problems. The stand has a very small foot and trends to dig in and fall over in the bush. Looks like they might be at least thinking about these problems.
