So the Lego thing is down to Legos company policy. Since the main scope of Warhammer 40K is primarily in a perpetual war, it goes against the Lego policy of not promoting war. [Edit] Ole Kirk Christiansen himself stated that contemporary weapons and military machines that could be easily linked to on going conflicts would not feature in his toy range as he didn’t want warfare to seem like child’s play.
How an 1 hour before anyone else
Um. Star Wars.
Lego also as a STAR WARS licence. They don't go near 20th and 21st century warfare, Sci-Fi / fantasy warfare seems generally okay though.
Mega construx could work instead, they do halo
That is true, but they do have star wars Legos too
I just want a Power Klaw shaped bottle opener. [cries in ork]
YESSSS
That would be waaaghsome!!
Perfect for orktoberfest
@@MidwinterMinisthe problem with lego is that they don't allow guns
@@tomoop8867They allow non realistic guns
The perfume is definitely the most needed suggestion on this list, as anyone who ever walked into a hobby store or convention can testify
I would buy "Heresy pour Homme". Black and Gold bottle would look nice ;-)
Let’s hope they don’t capture that “essence” in a bottle…
You would need a full body care kit to go with it, like the Christmas Boss gift sets.
@@CronosVids True ... unless they market it as Nurgle Rot by Paco Rabanne :P
@@thehunter1113 Good god... a Catachan Field Hygiene kit... how many 40K fans would jump on that just before going on a camping trip?
My favorite piece of Warhammer merch I own, is the The Imperial Infantryman's Handbook. It is THE in-universe handbook that each guard is require to have on their person at all time. And it is such a fun read, as imperial propaganda is on full display at all times, downplaying how strong an orc is and how to "easily" dispatch a Tau warrior from range and such. I'd love more in-universe books like this. Pehaps a few chapters of the Codex Astartes? A short field manual for Comissars? Or maybe a book from a Xenos race, a runtheard writing down some orc fables and stories?
My personal white whale would be the whole Gotrek and Felix series printed to look like the actual book Felix published in-universe printed by the Altdorf press. I love that series, and the older books are in desperate need of a reprint.
Yes, would definitely like print copies of a bunch of the lore books. And the Thanquol and Boneripper books in hardcover would be great!
As an mechanicus fanboy i would kill for sculptures of different servoskulls. Big or small, doesnt matter. Imagne having a shelf full of em ❤
Or... Hear me out... Servo Skull webcam
Or Servoskull desk lamps?
Servo Skull smart-home control panel.
Servo Skull door-knocker
Halloween is around the corner, keep an eye out for the skull decorations. I've made my own servoskull with one of them, he looks pretty awesome and they're fairly easy to make!
I work at a promo company with access to a laser printer, just last week I made myself a water bottle with a Warhammer meme on it to use at work. All of the clothing, puzzles, wallets and a quite a few other things you mentioned would be so easy to do even for a small promotional company. It’s sad they don’t put the effort in to make these ideas happen!
Yeah, I was even looking into to doing some of these myself but didn't fancy the C&D, haha
Damnit Guy, this was my business idea 😂
@MidwinterMinis who, or what, made all those product renders in the video?
How about Warhammer 40K: Online? As in "make the full tabletop game online and free to play".
I am not joking.
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 have you seen the prices in Tacticus my dude? Aint no way G dubs is doing that
The “Warboss” book box set came with an ork themed bumper sticker that said “MY UVVA TRUKK IZ A BOOMDAKKA SNAZZWAGON” so they’ve at least made one bumper sticker. It was in a limited edition release of a novel and is sold out, but it’s something.
Back when I used to watch the Twitch streams and they'd sometimes have some of the Licensing team on to preview upcoming merch, their response to suggestions for merch from Chat was always that they (GW) have to be approached by merch manufacturers to discuss licensing proposals. It doesn't matter how 'obvious' a merch idea is to us, someone needs to say to GW that they want to make it and then sign a deal with them.
Ah, the laziest way to do business, haha
I did look into this to start making merch. While the C&D is a possible, it seems the best way to make it big is the WH partner program. They take a small cut of sales to promote your stuff - you do all the R&D and manufacturing, and they just add it to the marketing. They dont push it though, its purely based on people already being there for modelling stuff
Geez.
Some companies pay a fortune to have a guy like you brainstorming ideas
I loved every single one of them
When the Amazon TV series comes out and Warhammer becomes a bit more mainstream I imagine there'll be a lot more 3rd party merch
A Pandemic where it’s Inquisitors fighting a Genestealer cult would be cool. Pandemic: Day of Ascension
I thought the same thing
Great idea for the perfume/aftershave. Would have to buy Nurgle's Rot scent
They could just repackage Lynx Voodoo
Nurgle's Rot - the scent of a convention attendee on the third day.
@@laurencepenfoldand the first
Car magnets (in addition to the bumper stickers), a faction logo or a space marine helmet is something that I’m shocked GW hasn’t made with a licensed product
How about faction themed Truck-Nuts?
Bumper sticker that says “my other car is a land raider”
@@euansmith3699 Maybe some Tyranid-themed Truck-Spore-Mines?
These are all fantastic ideas. You're probably right that Lego would never happen... I'm not saying that it'd be cheaper to field an army with Lego... but it probably would be, barely.
Lego Warlord Titan would be costly, but, easier to assemble than the Forge World one 😄
I’ve seen people run BattleTech games with LEGO mockups/proxies at various scales/sizes. It’s actually a fun challenge and splinter community for just about every IP, so GW might as well get a slice of it.
@@magnusmillerwilson You can slap together a huge lego board of buildings and streets for BattleTech Alpha Strike in no time flat and just really enjoy having some cool terrain to play on if you're not normally into the crafting side of things.
I'm an action figure collector. McFarlane did a bunch of figures, Bandai did a handful, and JoyToy has 1/18 scale covered. I would go through the roof if GW did a whole line of proper 1/12 scale figures.
Imagine Hasbro getting the liscence. Joytoy is practically printing money right now. They just announced a side line for 30k.
Something I've noticed is that there are very few themed tape measurers for tabletop gaming in general! It'd be a great opportunity for hobbyists to express their love for a faction by making themed tape measurers.
As a massive Blood Bowl fan, I would love branded merch like a spikey football, trophies, foam hands, caps, scarves, mugs, helmets, coasters, and football jackets. They would make such great prize support too for tournaments.
A version of Ticket to Ride called Warrant of Trade where instead of routes across continents, you ply your way across the Galaxy, with some routes needing certain goods or resources (the coloured cards), and others representing the perils of the warp (tunnels and ferries). So instead of a long route from Madrid to Constantinople, you have to get from Necromunda to Macragge.
Hell, I might make this for myself...
For someone who doesn't have a studio rn, you made quite a freakin cool video dude !
I'd like a magazine with all the starships (like the Star Trek Starships Collection). Prepainted metal starships that you can even use to play Battlefleet Gothic 2.
7:28 How to give a whole different meaning to the expression: "I smell heresy".
The bags, and backpacks, seem to be the best idea in this video. Thanks for sharing. 😊😊
I have a great idea. What about window screens. Those acordian shades you put in the front window of your car when you park. The new leviathan box cover would look great in the front window of my car. Nothing like seeing a terminator tyranid face staring out of your parked car!
When you said there were obvious boardgames the first one that jumped to mind was Hungry Hungry Heretics.
A funny idea I thought of (maybe someone else has thought of it before) is a space marine drop pod stress ball. A drop pod you can spike like a football and it won't shatter into pieces.
I love that on the Warlord titan print you have Steve's knight in the background!! such a cool detail
I believe in the 40K lore, they have their own game like chess called Regicide. They could just make an actual physical copy of the game they've described in their novels.
Some companies have also branched into fantasy-branded coffee. Why not have GW do the same thing and make bags of Recaff available to sell.
It's all fun and games with the little jedi costume until anakin walks in
completely agree Guy. One of the things I wish they did was trophies. It would be cool to have a set of trophies for tournaments, leagues and campaigns at clubs and between friends
A Nurgle themed version of the game _Plague Inc._ would be neat😎
I know bandai are a competitor but they've made action figures before with them so it'd be soo cool to have a hg gunpla range of tau and imperial nights.
I actually suggest 40K Nerf guns during a livestream with the Products Dept during the early part of lockdown and he was very taken with the idea so you never know, something might already be in the works, remember, these products (especially toys) can take years of design and testing before we see them.
Oh, and Guyver... my first, and favourite, anime series. I even sat through the less than brilliant US movie versions. Would love to see a modern revival.
'It's a classic solitary relaxing pastime and you can even get the family involved too.'
Fnurg! Yarf!
Guy to Hattie : I'm going to sit in this comfy chair and make a video about toys and stuff that i'd like GW to make.
Whilst i'm doing that, could you just take apart the studio please? Thanks.
Wearable suits of space marine armour would be amazing
Hmm... some others I can think of off the bat:
- Tyrannid Infested World themed Ant Farms (or, Hive City themed ant farms)
- Lasgun themed Laser Tag sets
- Larger scale model kits (on par with other scale models, for example a 1/35 scale Squad or Marines and a Rhino)
- 40K Themed Computer cases
- Drones... there's plenty of flyers in 40K, how many people would buy up a tri-copter Valkyrie?
- Furniture... What guy wouldn't love to have a literal Skull Throne? Or how many would like a desk themed to look like something from a planetary governor?
- Working Firearm accessories (a bit controversial I know, but do remember that many people do use these things for sport, and this is the target demographic). From Imperial Guard holosights, to Tau-themed scopes, and maybe even themed holsters and pouches.
- "Working" Xenos weapons. Akin to a Light Saber, how many would find it cool to have a Tau Pulse Rifle or Carbine? Or how about a Gauss Flayer? Or a Eldar Shuriken Catapult?
- Airsoft AEGs... the sheer number of possibilities here are endless. Both in terms or Imperial weapons and Xenos.
- "Bio Samples". Basically a form of paperweight, you could have things like the tooth from a Hormigant or the tooth from an Ork suspended in acrylic, and all inside a case themed around and Order Xenos containment vessel.
- An Apothecary Medical kit (chainfist sold separately). I know it gets into the realm of what Guy talked about with bags, but who here wouldn't want a first-aid kit themed around the ones issued to the Astartes or the Militarum? Especially around our hobby area...
- Getting into Cosplay territory... how about an actual Kasrkin respirator? A lot of people do work with resin and spray paint in this hobby... who wouldn't want to look like a badass while doing it?
Those are just a few ideas I can come up with. Some might not go over well, but I think the others would do well.
Purity seals everywhere! Fridge magnets, pins and stickers.
This was quite a list! Thanks Guy!
0:40 - Wow, Hatty, this dress suits you so much! Very elegant!
We NEED to have a cute little centurion plushie
Coffee table art books!
For board games there’s two that come to mind, Godzilla Tokyo clash a deck based mini fighting game would fit perfect in the 40k setting and who wouldn’t love to see Godzilla and a titan or even a ork gargant fighting, the second is one is unmatched another deck based mini fighter would be perfect as they did crossovers with marvel
Purity seal fridge magnets would be fantastic. I need to stick that to my fridge, my car, my dishwasher... everything.
For board games i really want a 40k trivial pursuit
All of these are fantastic options. My personal favorite are Nerf bolters because I can just imagine the in-home Nerf battles with my kids. My son recently picked Blood Angels as his army.
Best of luck with the move!
Oh, I would totally buy the necktie and perfume to go with on a tournament. Just to align with my faction of choice more. GW, do it!
A Mechanicum Red tie with a small black and white mechanicus cog skull logo on it would be great
Well done putting out such an interesting video while moving studio.
I sent an email to GW recently asking them to consider creating GW themed rubber ducks :)
Man I’d kill for some warhammer dresses, they’d go great with my custom warhammer heels. I will say one thing I think they could do is earrings. I’ve made a few extra minis into earrings and I get comments on them almost every time I wear them.
"Heresy" is a fantastic name for a bottle of scent.
On the board game front, how about "Cluedo: Eisenhorn Edition"?
I want Warhammer ties, Abaddon and Kharn especially in their classic portrayals would be epic
These are great ideas! Especially I think puzzles, bumper stickers, chess and Nerf because the overheads for them are so low. And as for the others it's a shame GW hasn't jumped at these opportunities because 3rd parties who make these products for GW absolutely would. It's free real estate.
Look forward to seeing the new workspace Guy(s)! And Salamanders is sure to be a great watch!
A Grimaldus Statue.... I would spend lots of money on that.
I've made my own Chess set with Chaos Marine models, Grey Knight models, and a large enough board to fit the 40mm bases
I've talked about this before with friends, when I look for merchandise I'm really not looking for just "has the brand logo on there". I love your bag suggestions because they feel diagetic, especially that guard messenger bag.
yeah, i think having the logo on there probably got mixed up with "name brand" stuff at some point. By that i mean merchandise people saw people were buying pants that simply had a logo on it saying a name for a 100 dollars so they thought that is what people wanted and that is why it is so prevalent. That is the only reason i can think of for cheap merchandise like that other than the cheapness i guess. just having a logo and nothing special is just lame merchandise imo.
With a Warhammer 40k movie or TV series in the works, with everyone's favourite Witcher, it feels ever so slightly more possible that we could see Lego space marines.
Guyver definitely doesnt get enough love!
Wonder if a lego warhammer cross over would be to violent for lego to seriously consider doing.
I have several of the knock-off Lego space marine mini-figures from the White Scars, Imperial Fists, Dark Angel and Ultramarine legions/chapters, and I love them. They come with a cool variety of weapons (bolters, heavy bolters, plasma guns, chain swords, etc.). Lots of fun.
I'd buy that John Blanche tie in a heartbeat
Winter gear like Valhallan snow hats and overcoats! Or Beast Snagga swimwear!
You missed out crochet patterns.. so Nanny could make a nice hat or cuddly toy!
As a Space Balls fan, I raise... 40k the FLAMETHROWER
Going for the basic here... patches.
Between the actual chapters, or race specific, the squadron numbers, purity seals, the different guards Corps, names if they get into "made to order"... they would them by the truck load!
I would absolutely love a range of 75mm warhammer minis.
A little Ghal Maraz to put on my desk and bonk things with would be excellent
Mega blok would be a much better bet than Lego they'd be more open to it and they already have a lot of parts that fit the setting that they can just reuse. Also I love the Guyver! I'm very happy that you are aware of it as well.
Some great ideas here mate. Love the bumper stickers!
I swear they were talking about a power pack backpack 20 years ago, I have memories of some designs for it with zippers around the vents at the top.
Well that was a weird ad but to give my two cents about the topic. I think the Nerv gun idea great. On replica I would by a Ork Choppa or the OG Warhammer Ghal Maraz for sure!
Imagine a trazyn's gallery display piece. Or and Imotekh one.
One thing I can think of that I feel a lot of people in the fanbase would need...
Eye glass frames.
If I can get a nice pair of green frames with a dark angel insignia etched on the sides, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.
A Lego 40k game would go really hard ngl.
that power pack Backpack was AWESOME
For jewelry as you say I'd love an inquisition earring or a pair, would look lovely
YES on the women's clothing and fragrances as well as the replica weapons! I was so disappointed to learn those leggings and dresses were discontinued, as I didn’t learn they existed until after they were no longer being made. And Warhammer perfume names would probably all be funny responses to "You smell nice- is that a new perfume you're wearing?"
As for the replica weapons, i just think a power sword would look nice on my wall.
Let’s get some Helmets! Not just different Space Marine Helmets, but also Cadian Helmets, Custodes Helmets, Ork Buckets. I think that’d be really cool.
They used to make jewellery back in the late 90s/early 00s! I used to have Dark Angels and Crux Terminatus pendants.
I agree 1000%% with this!!!
I d love to wear warhammer themed earrings / piercing , just imagine having like chaos insignia hanging from your ears
"Honk for Heresy" don't know why I found that so funny, nearly spat out my pot noodle....
Honk for heresy bumper sticker would be dangerous 😂
Bumper sticker: white gothic text on a plain black background two words: most pertubatory!
Bedsheets- and I’m not talking about the silly pillow cases either. I want the DoW:DC cover art as a comforter.
Also, I'm AMAZED to hear someone else talk about Guyver
There was a Guyver tv anime that came out in the late 00s, early teens called Guyver The Bioboosted Armor. As far as I know, it didn't get a western release, but there's probably clips floating around on the interwebs.
Sculptures and weapons replicas would indeed be amazing as a larger scale warhammer decoration!
Kids costume idea: watcher in the dark. And their parents go as dark angels
I'm definitely going to try to do this with the twins when they're a bit older
I second the Lunch box and thermos idea.
Imperial Fists Sand Castle toy set for the beach. And of course, inflatable Ork Roks and attack moons to throw at them.
There were some Prime1 40k statues - Gabriel Angelos and a Blood Raven marine based off Dow3. H.M.O also made a 6th scale Guilliman and a Logan Grimnar recently.
I feel like the main reason a lot of these haven't happened yet is because they haven't had a big successful movie. I feel like once they do, they will have broken into mainstream awareness, and will then start pushing non-game merch hard. I don't know when that will be though.
I think this is putting the cart before the horse. There are far less established brands that still sell loads of merch. Warhammer definitely has the brand recognition and audience to be monetized in this fashion. It just seems like Games Workshop only have the will to go halfway on this.
"Do you follow the Codex Astartes this closely" Ngl that cracked me up
Warhammer chess seems like a weekly partwork magazine waiting to happen.
LMAO "these sensational leggings" SLAP*
Dark Angels tie bar. Purity seal magnets. Official wax seal presses. Chess set is a must. Bar or pub ware glass tumblers coasters decanters. Wall decorations like how they did the taneth wall hanger but for like every faction.
Candies and chocolates would be a very god option for a gift!
Loved the video and i hope GW listens to your suggestions (so they can earn from other markets than minis and lower the prices perhaps) when you said perfumes i thought "why not snacks? Cutlery and tools for cooking, put some irony (pun intended) in this grimdark future" the wildest flavours exist (pufferfish, gentleman's parts, hallucinogenic mushrooms) why not Corpstarch? Or Aeldari food, Ork Shrooms, Recaff, Fenrisian Mjod... I wish there were more of that...
the first snack would have to be corpstarch.
Themed cookbooks are really big (Pokemon, Fallout, Skyrim, even a Necronomicon themed cookbook) so they could put together a themed cookbook. Recipes for Corpsestarch, Nutrient Paste, Catachan Barking Toad Porridge ect.
For the record the Nurgle scented candle is sandlewood and my gf loves it lol
Personally, I think it would be hilarious if GW partnered with Hummer and they came out with a literal Rhino.
Woah that necron sports bag took me by surprise. Would rock one of those!!
