Big credit to you for paying attention to the content details. Most of Americans or west Europeans, who even heard about white slavery, know only about barbarian pirates episode, which was perhaps between 1 to 5 % of christan victims of muslim slavery trade. Very good content from the substantive side. Although the graphic side is a little issue imho. I think you don't have to change the picture every two seconds... maybe use some overview maps if you can't find relevant graphics. And not sure if you using some game graphics, or AI made ones - but those seems to be nonsense too :) If you can work on that and edit it, that would bring your video to another level. All the best.

I think as an American it's not that we aren't taught it's that they are bad at teaching.....mostly in that they will teach in certain circumstances white people were enslaved sometimes under nonwhites and therefore shut up about slavery in America and that's about it.....never about the imperialism, state of abuse and oftentimes displacement that actually lead to societies doing this which was the whole point of......I think this might be the first video that puts the Romans, Ottomans, Russians and the Barbary Pirates in the same category which frankly they never were regarding this chapter.....two of those are acceptable to be viewed as "bad guys" the others misunderstood....and it doesn't use the debunked Irish American Slave story these are real experiences...well done

Slaves, in Rome, bought their freedom and opened their own businesses, if you know Latin, why don't you walk around Rome and read either the funerary marbles/stones and of shops.i suggest you read or see Mary Beard's books and videos. Do you know Mary Beard ? Perhaps you should. In those days and prior to the Greek/Roman Civilisation, you had Syrians, Accadians, Egyptians, Persians even Vikings had slaves.

I made a whole other video on that. You can check my videos. I am telling history, not railing against the English

@evanpenny348 This video is about white slavery. The British initiated the ban of transporting African slaves to the Americas in 1807, followed by the U.S. in 1808. Even then, the U.S. didn't send ships to assist the Royal Navy West Africa Squadron until much later. By then, the French had already supplied ships to assist. The British continued to pressure other countries to follow their lead, resulting in a blockade of Brazil in the 1850s........and later shutting down the eastern Arab slave trade out of Zanzibar, under threat of naval bombardment. Judging by this video, the U.S. were mainly interested in liberating whites. Black slaves from soon to be former American colonies, were judged to be free men once they set foot on English soil (see Jonathon Strong case.1772). Slavery in the last outposts of the British Empire to be abolished, were in countries where slavery had already been a part of their culture before the British colonized. Apart from those, it was formally abolished in 1833.

Oh please, slaves came into the American Colonies under British, French, Soanish rule. Jefferson and others were trying to outlaw slavery while we were still under the Brits. You dont mention endentured servitude. Recently Dr Henry Gates,Jr. Dean of Harvard's Black Studies dept and the host of an ancestry tv program, was able to trace the ancestry of a famous white Hollywood producer and verify white slaves ships from Scotland! The US received less than 400,000 African. But Cental and South American received many millions via British, Portugese, Spanish. BUT if you added it all together in the New World it would be far less than white Europeans taken by muslims. This was a dirty business, there are no clean hands, no heroes only victims. There is still slavery today. You need to do a lot more research.

I really wanted to like this channel but this video was not it. This subject should be talked about but this is not the way to do it. You didn’t need to frame it as “white slavery” knowing white supremacists would use this against Black people.
The slavery discussed in this video, while real and deplorable, differed from the transatlantic slave trade in a very important way:
It was not race-based. That is - people were not enslaved on the basis of being white

@Nellia.20x Yeah. The English were too busy blockading Africa to stop slave ships going to the Americas. As well as forcing the closure of the Arab slave trade out of Zanzibar, under the threat of naval bombardment. Plus, the blockade of Brazil, after the new nation failed to police anti slavery policies demanded by Britain. The poor English were too busy saving everyone else, to save themselves.
