Canadian here who has little doubt that the US and NATO sabotaged the pipeline. The only logical reason why Putin would do it is to frame the US, which is extremely improbable because he has lost his leverage over the EU with the destruction of Nordstream. In other words, it makes no sense for the Russians to destroy their own pipeline. Maybe Nordstream committed suicide like Epstein?

However, does it make sense to be curious when this professor said that the helicopters were based in Gdańsk, Poland, and that they were in the area of the explosion, and that they were CIRCLING that area, and that this circling occurred before the explosion. And, that this all occurred after President Joe Biden said that on February 7, 2022 that, "If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine again, there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2." and "We will bring an end to it," and "I promise you: we will be able to do it."
Please convince me that Biden was bluffing, and that this professor got his facts wrong, and the helicopters were NOT circling that particular area, and the U.S. had nothing to do with it. And, address each of these points when doing so. I want to believe.
The simple question is, why would the Russians blow up their OWN pipeline? All they have to do is turn off the tap, not make it permanently unusable.

Cutting off Europe from Russia's gas supply makes sense if you want to hurt Russia on the long run. This also means the US gets to sell more gas to Europe and also gives an opportunity to Ukraine to sell their gas. I don't think Russia is that willing to cut off gas completely because they still get money from it. For once, a US action that I'm not completely upset about.
Holland and the UK have enough gas to supply Europa for many many years but they do not want to mine it because they want a energy transition.
