An Experiment in Augmented Intelligence - Living Between Worlds 4.12

Over the past four years, more than 700 people have engaged in these monthly conversations about the challenge of Living Between Worlds. Of living in this liminal time when, as Antonio Gramsci put it 100 years ago, “the old world is dying, and a new world struggles to be born.“
This month we tried something different. We’ve trained an "AI“ on the entire corpus of our 36 conversations, to explore what would it be like to have a probing conversation with ourselves-or, more accurately, with a representation of ourselves that offers a different way of finding pattern (and perhaps meaning) then we do.
For example, here’s its distillation of “What have been the main themes discussed in these LBW conversations?”
The response: "The main themes discussed in the LBW conversations revolve around social norms, the boundaries of thought, the crippling reductionism of the modern world, the mysteries of systems change, fear and hope, the lack of progress in climate change, the battle for the story of the world, and the political dimension of these works."
Not bad, eh!
Over the course of this 90 minutes we poked it with a series of questions, posed followup inquiries, gathered suggestions of how we might evolve this beast with the purpose of enriching our conversations together. And we observed the collected humans' surprising reactions to encountering this strange new creation.
