I guess you didn't need to remove the rubber from the back side and it might have even helped to protect the hook when you were hammering the rivets in.

yeah but Factor 55 Recommends that you do it like this because when you are hammering the pin you don't the rebound effect

I ended up just installing the rope guard Weil the fairlead was still on the truck. It was a lot easier with it already being anchored onto the truck!

this synthetic rope was only $35 if you have a cable thats very dangerous if it breaks it can kill you

I just ordered the hook and cover, but using a screwdriver like that made me cringe. Stabbing yourself on camera shows how not to remove the rubber pieces...
