Passion. If one wants to engage with an introvert find out what they are passionate about and introverts will open up in a surprising way. Not all introverts are the same. Above all else, remember to give introverts time and space. Look how Bocchi has opened up with her band mates and her little street performance not to mention saving the band in EP8. Bocchi went from playing in a box on stage to being able to lead the band when Bocchi identified that the other members were struggling. This has been a nice series to watch.

Other note Bocchi suffering from social anxiety which can be treated. And she might not be an introvert at all. Bocchi actually points this out when she Identifies the Bass Player as a true Introvert as in one who can socially interact but choses to avoid it a lot.
Bocchi might never stop some developed introverted habits but like in her fantasies might actually be extrovert or in the middle once the social anxiety is overcame.
I know because I am ADHD extrovert but grew up like an introvert because of bullying and inability to retaliate to people. I'm mixed type ADHD my hyper part is talking I can go on and on also a great driver people with ADHD normally suck at driving unless they very good at it. Called hyper focus what ever someone i ADHD hyper focus at they very good at normally. Many want to change the name to Attention Inconstancy disorder as have no trouble focusing inside area of hyper focus. Unfortunately for us the hyper focus that comes with our tallest we born with we cannot change the hyper focus to anything else.

@@RedRocket4000 after someone in reddit kindly corrected my view of what an extrovert is I'm 100% sure Hitori is in the middle of the spectrum. She want to have social interaction and all but she's not a social buttlerfly (I think episode 9 gives the strongest argument to my point). Still, she only closes herself because of the social anxiety.
I want to say something about it begin treatable. I was diagnosed with social anxiety at 14 but run away from treatment because I feared I would have to take medication. My peak social anxiety was at 18 when I spend 6 months alone at university, and just now at 23 that I can barelly work as a normal human begin. Don't run kids, it will only get worse.

This show has been my highlight of the week for the entire season now. There is so much detail in the character interactions, -animation, visual gags and music that just breathes life into it that I cannot help but be in awe with how every single episode gets better than the last. Combine that with my affinity for well-done self-improvement stories and you can bet your entire life earnings on the fact that this is gonna be my AOTY. With Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family (as well as Mob and Hero Academia) taking up so much of the hype early on, the amount of "sleeper hits" this season has been extraordinary, but Bocchi The Rock has almost certainly been the one to gain the most traction as the weeks have gone on. It feels like it's spreading everywhere lately, and that's great. I love watching Bocchi's slow but steady growth and am already clamoring for a second season before the first is even over. The song writing style is so refreshing amongst a lot of the produced-for-anime songs we’ve been getting in recent years. It’s a perfect combination of catchiness and complexity that has just grabbed my attention more than any other anime soundtrack in a long time. The little bit of math rock that’s thrown in with the j-pop/j-rock is just perfection for me.

I think it was during the the time bocchi showed her first lyrics when the bassist said,"It may not resonate with everyone, but for those it does, it resonates real deep." Same can be applied for this anime as well. Anyone who has passed any amount of time in their life with social anxiety will be hit hard with this show. While alot of the stuff is shown in a comedic way, actually your anxieties pan out that way often in real life. For example, that cardboard cutout scene has played in my mind as well when I strike a conversation with someone I just met or dont know all that well and I am nowhere near as introverted as Bocchi.

First that she really can play with the others as a band in the audition, then in the street performance she realizes that the audience isn't her enemy, and in the most recent episode she realizes how nervous everyone else is in the first song and that she can step up and lift the others up with her.

One of the best aspects of the series, is how well they handled the series, the animation can get chaotic, but that is due to the mental state of Bocchi, it can become simplistic to show that she is drawing a blank in the situation, or she becomes distorted to show how things are piling up on her. then there is well-placed real-world imagery, which shows her breaking at that point because Bocchi was mentally overwhelmed.
What the animation direction does, is create a series with a significant amount of expressive prowess, that very few anime production teams have been able to create, Cloverworks got a relatively unknown team of animators and VAs together, and produced one of the most surprising series of the season. as another reviewer pointed out, Bocchi the Rock much like Chowder makes great use of multimedia assets to tell a story.
I am hoping that this series has some serious longevity, and gets a second season, with even more wacky ways to show off what this team has been able to accomplish, and maybe make it as expressive as we have seen in the first season.

    1. The Character that reflect Introvert perfectly
    2. The genre Band that focus on Band life perfectly, that Band need each personality to contributed for the Band, and Syncronized each individuality into 1 Team perfectly (we can see the chaotic and sync in Ep8)
    3. The Band life is much better than K-On that doing Band for Club in School, but Bocchi The Rock really what an Individual need to do to do a Band
    4. The Gags are funny, Many Animation type assembled and many meme too that's also funny without ruined the story or anime, weirdly enjoyable and fascinating (is it because many Animation experiment just inside Hitori's head/imagination)

Bocchi the Rock is one of the most top-to-bottom well produced anime I've watched...uh, ever? like, just casually watching it you could be forgiven for missing the sheer volume of care here, but if you go back and look at it you're like 'wait, this background is super-detailed', 'wait is that an out of nowhere DBZ reference?' 'wait you can actually tell when they're fucking up musically', 'no but seriously they did a name drop of the title and made it one of the biggest emotional beats of the season, while basically explaining why the show's called that and what it really means'.
And I mean, our dear sweet Bocchi has the greatest silly face game of the year, and it's not remotely close. They stretch her every which way, a sheer blob of anxiety and nerves and irrational wildly imaginative fears. I'm never going to forget her actually glitching when it was suggested that she might make an Instagram account; and my reaction was like, yeah, same, tbh.
But I think anyone that has ever been anxious, or that has ever been held back by their own negative thoughts can relate to Bocchi's struggles. And those sweet moments which in any other show would feel just pleasant take on a whole different meaning in the light of someone who has NEVER had this before, and has had to claw her way through her own brain trying to defeat her to get to a place where she can enjoy life and accomplish something meaningful. It really spins the whole genre on its head just by changing the nature of who we're following.
It's probably my anime of the year. Only Call of the Night comes anywhere close to me.
also the OP is Great, and all three EDs so far have been really good.

Kanami the lead guitar in Band-Maid was also an introvert uploading her covers to internet. Kinda like Bochhi.
Miku found Kanami and get her to form a band together like Nijika did with Bocchi - except Miku isn't a drummer. She's a vocalist who can't play guitar and had to learn to play rhythm guitar from Kanami, so very much like Ikuyo.
Misa (bassist) is just like Ryo in personality, and she's also good friend with the drummer Akane before they join the band.
The big difference is Band-Maid has 1 more member. The lead vocalist - Saiki who joined some time later through audition.

I'm waiting on the series to conclude before getting into it, primarily because I want it ALL there, because I strongly feel I'm going to enjoy it.
K-On is in my top three favorites, and this show doing something distinct while having a similar premise looks to be a treat for me.

I know on the surface it seems like K-On! but watching the show makes me think of A Place Further Than The Universe.
    - A group of 4 main girls
    - An MC that hates the way they are and wants to change themselves.
    - MC has a run in with another girl through fate who drags them along and changes their life forever.
    - The show focuses more on the journey and bonds of the girls rather than the destination of their goals.
    - Each girl kind of has something in their past that they are trying to move past

I put this show on my backlog when this video was released because although the sinopsis didn't caught my attention, the video quite sells it. I watched it a few days ago after another video reminded me it existed, and man, I can't believe I almost miss this absolute gem!
It definitely is one of the best shows from that season and I skipped it while on emission which is both good and bad, good because I was able to watch it in just one go 'cause it is very engaging, and bad because it goes out too soon. I mean, the pace is great, but I feel I want more.

The highest compliment I can give Bocchi the Rock! is that I look forward to it every week even more so than Chainsaw Man. Don't get me wrong, I am loving Chainsaw Man, but Bocchi the Rock! consistently gives me so much life and touches my heart to the point where I do think it is my Anime of the Season, even above the one with the chainsaws.
The production quality is excellent. The narrative is focused and feels true to life. The main cast is composed of characters who aren't perfect. They all have flaws and weaknesses and thus their kindness to Bocchi never comes across to me as them humoring or thinking less of her. I love that in spite of all Bocchi's weaknesses, the show never fails to showcase her strengths (seriously Episode 8 brought me to tears by the end).
Personally, I love the music in this series. It's got this infectious, emo, J-Rock vibe that can pull off upbeat sounding tracks with depressing lyrics perfectly. The sakuga used in the scenes where the band plays is just BEAUTIFUL! I also appreciate that as someone with a musical ear, I can noticeably hear the difference between when the band plays a song well vs. when they play that same song sub-par. It would have been so easy to just use the same track for both a good and bad performance but this series actually lets you hear what a poor performance sounds like without it being either comically bad or over-exaggerated.

Hey Arkada! I just want to thank you for shining a nice spotlight on this little sleeper hit of the current leg of the 2022 season. I really am finding some enjoyment in this original and excellent series! I too was thinking this would be a simple K-On-esque series of cute girls in a band and got a lot more out of it. If I were to look and choose my top 10 anime series of 2022 (that I watched) it would definitely rank high on the list of overall (and definitely top the Slice of Life Genre list) for this year. Does it steal thunder from Buzzy the Demon cutter? I think it does and is a different perspective on High School life from an introvert's perspective. This series and Do It Yourself! are, in my opinion, some of the most unique gem series of Winter 2022 season and a much needed few breaths of fresh air in a quite action packed anime crop. It reminds me of the joy I found in other series like Yuru Camp (or Heya Camp) or A Place Further Than the Universe. Once again thank you for showcasing this out of left field series and keep up the amazing work you do with this awesome channel!

What i love from bochi is her internal monologue, the silentness of introvert (+ social anxiety) didn't meant they didn't have anything in mind and want to talk about it, it's just we thinking too much about something and slowly leading it to worst scenario, thust make us thinking it maybe better just don't talk and forget about it in the end
