Literally the best explanation of this device I found I bought one and almost gave up because I’ve searched multiple videos over this Pac LOC
Man just found your video. Let me tell you best explanation that wasn’t drawn out. Thank you Sir!!
Bro, twisting the power wires with a power tool; game changer!
Hey... thanks a lot for what you do on the channel..
You help out so many people like myself, that need some good info
Thank you so much, how you explain the installation makes it very easy and understanding to connect everything correct
Great video!!! Alot of help. im getting ready to order one for my truck!!!
Yo!!
I swear the best explanation by far….
Thanks 🙏🏾
had to pause this video just to let you know that you do a freaking awesome job of explaining and Getting to the point...ok continue
+Kwesi Pollock haha very cool thanks
Sweet. Videos like this are a great help. Hey man, if I'm ever in the Tampa area I will definitely come check y'all out. Thanks guys!
Brian Miles thank you we are always there so come on bye
Your the best man thank you nobody could do what you did I been looking for days your a live and money saver cuz they charge $100-$200 to do anything
Excellent instructions! I performed all steps you did, except used two speakers instead of one. Worked like a charm! :-)
Hi Dean & Fernando!! I have a question about the LP7-2. I finished installing a JL W7 stealthbox and a JL RD 1000/1 amp on my 17 mustang. I tapped into rear deck speakers for signal and ground/power from the amplifier, remote from LP to amp. Played 40 hz test tone through HU and used my DD1+ for distortions. I got my max volume and adjusted the LP7-2 to 2 volts. Now my question is, do i play the 40z test tone again and set my gain on my amp until it shows distortion?? My DD1+ has the ability for overlap and i played 40hz overlap track and used my bass boost to give me 8 db of overlap. Is this the correct way to tune my amp? Or how do i set overlap correctly? When i start and turn my car off, my subwoofer is popping/thump, is this because of the LP voltage or my gains are too high? Please help me with my questions. Thank you!!!!!
So if I'm already using the high level input on my amp will this LOC sound better or equal?
Besides cutting the brown wire off this video was great!!! That wire cuts the noise in the speakers you get when driving
just bought one..video simplified everything
DANNY TAGGART cool glad we could help
Awesome videos! This is the most helpful video I've seen all week
Very helpful video. One question: Can I leave the two speakers already exist, in parallel connection with the adapter? Thank you!
Hi my amp will do low or high input up to 10 volts what volt should I run my head unit out at?
When you connect the converters inputs to your cars rear speakers is it a 3 way connect where the rear speaker still work??? Even after adding this product?
My Terrain has factory low level outputs before the amp(full range).I measured them at 6.5v full tilt on a 100hz sine wave. Can I just attach RCA's to those and run them straight into the amps or should I use a LOC?
Question: I have a '18 corolla
I have a pdx-v9 alpine amp
I was told I can tap into the rear speakers to connect a line output converter.
Will the Pac lp7 be the correct one to use?
Also I will be adding a sub later to that 5 channel, will it be easy to hook up and just be a simple plug into that 5 channel for the sub ?
What would I need to add a subwoofer and amp to a 2013 Mercedes c300 with the Harmon kardon logic 7 surround sound
How did you determine that it was a 2 volt output on the pac?
I know this is a old video but I bought this now do I need 2 sets of wires from both front speakers for a subwoofer or can I wire them together like you did off just one front speaker lead just wondering thanks
So , on this I can use factory subwoofer wires to 1 channel and and split the rca's just to sub amp. Or do I need to use both channels for signal to sub amp.
Great video Dean.
Tim datoolman thanks Tim
I am using the lp7-4 and a kicker cxa300.4 amp that uses the DC offset turn on, do I still need need to wire the 12v constant and ground since I won't need the remote turn on?
the two line / 4 leads i would be using is high level 2ohm 32-300 htz sub leads from the factory Amp. would you see an issue with the rest of the circuit if i use the 2 / 2ohm sub leads to line in for a 2 channel amp to power the 32-300 htz 10" subs. ( i hope i asked that question right)
So is it ok to run the remote wire to the amplifier instead of the head unit or any other accessory as a power source if the LOC has remote turn on??
Does the LOC hook up to the front speaker outputs or the rear speaker output ?
Thank you, very helpful
Hi there,
Nice tutorial, I have an old GM Delco radio (model number: 2700), my question is all amplifier have 2v, so I need to adjust that to 2v or how to identify this? My radio works only with 10-ohm speakers, so I need to add an amplifier to work with new speaker set.
I have a factory JBL system in my toyota. Should i splice in from the radio before the amp or after the amp or should i try to hook into the factory output of the amp for the factory subs(which this car did not come with subs). Will coming out of the amp mess with impedance causing the amp to over heat. My amp model is JBL 86280-0w622. Any input you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Doug
Hi, great video.. I do have a question though... If you are running power to the converter
do I need one of these line output converters? i am tring to hook up my stock radio to my eqs755, my problem is thei high level input has 4 wires, my radio has 8 for each speaker should i change to the low level RCA and if i do how do i hook it up with the 8 wires. thank you for any advice.
Can you use this on a 2020 Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra instead of a DSR1 just for a base amp and the trunk of the Tri Glide
Wait wait lol
1) where did you get the ground in power from ?
2) what would you recommend to hook up to one speaker or two speakers for the remote turn on ?
So I have a question...so the LOC I HAVE JUST HAS THE 4 SPEAKER WIRES THEY GREYS AND THE WHITES THEN TWO BRWN FOR GND... BUT IF I DON'T HAVE TO STILL BEHIND THE RADIO...BY HOOKING IT UP IN MY REAR DOOR SPEAKER..DO I HAVE TO RUN WIRE FROM THE OTHER DOOR SPEAKER OR JUST ONE SIDE ND POSSIBLY JUST PUT BOTH POSITIVE N NEGATIVE TOGETHER TO GET FREQUENCY ND OUTPUT TO THE AMP?
So you set the volume just before clipping and then measure the volts? or did you lower the volume when measuring the volts? Also, is the track 0 decibels or 0 decibels is achieved by turning the volume knob all the way down?
I've had issues in the past using the radio constant 12v and ground to power LOC's. Rerouting those wires to the amp instead seems to fix it. Is there a reason why the LOC's can't share 12v constant power with the stock radio? Especially in newer vehicles.....thanks
I've been stressing over those RCA's until I realize you can just clip them 😂 thank you
When reading the manual it says that I should play a 100 hz test tone when adjusting the sound output. But you play a 40 hz test tone. What hertz should I play when adjusting output sound?
I have a 2020 Corolla with JBL system. I’m using an Audio Control LC1i LOC for my sub setup. I have to turn the output gain fully clockwise to achieve only 3.9 volts…thoughts??? This should be able to put more voltage out. BTW, your videos are a huge educational help!
How does this lp7-2 compare to the audio control lc2i
I have a 2006 ford explorer limited and it has a 8 inch subwoofer can I hook the line out converter to that speaker wire instead of the other speakers
On my sub amp I can use high level on rca input with rca adapters. Then I get signal sensing and remote out. Then send that rear channel out from pass through to 4ch amp rear channel running my NVX XPLOC4 as passive without the DC cables.
Front channels from LOC to front on 4ch amp of course.
Good idea?
6:1 step down what does that mean? My XPLOC4 says that in specifications.
I could only get like 2v if I remember correctly last I installed it.
How did you hook up your volt meter to measure the output?
What’s the difference between the PAC LP5-4 vs LP6-4 vs LP7-4? I saw one of your install videos when you where working on the exact car I own, infinity g35 with factory Bose system, in that video you used a LP5-4.
I am now attempting that same install but don’t know to buy the LP6-4 or LP7-4...as the LP5-4 is now discontinued by the manufacturer. Please help...don’t want to order the wrong model..also I am aware I will probably lose out on my Bose sub in the rear deck using this. I’ve already picked up an amp and sub for the trunk. Installing pioneer avh2440nex.
Also, I’ve already installed this same radio in my 2012 Altima. Will the PAC SWI RC work for both the 2005 Infinity G35 and the 2012 Nissan Altima?
Thanks in advance for any help!
If the oem factory head unit has 4 speakers, does the pac need 2 speakers connected to it or can I just hook up 1 speaker and which one should it be? Front left front right rear left or rear right? Does it matter?
I hooked it up but only getting sound out of the white rca but both speakers work?
I got the package sni-35 how do I connect it if I got two brown wires my ground is attached to the screw behind the radio and the 4 cable to the left and right positive and negative on the speakers but no sound from the amp and it's on?
hi, thanks for the video.
Where I connect 12v in ? directy batery or stereo ?
Ariel Tordi either will work just fine
Awesome video! I have a question. If I can only get the wires to one of the rear speakers can I tie the R and L positive and negatives all together to that one speaker wire?
Great video. I have a question, I have a Honda civic, can I cut the wires from the speakers front and rear door to go into the loc or do I need to get the wires from the head unit? Thank you.
Did you ever install it? I had the same question. Did it work?
From rear speakers since it gives full range frequency
Is there a difference in sound hooking it to two speakers then one?
Does these actually convert highs to lows?
I want to convert 40hz subwoofer high level to low level rca to 30hz mono amp.
Quick question ...why would it have staic on some stations but not others but if u take off amp it clears up
Cool Video!!
ineed help, i want to put MiDs on my car on 4 Doors &&, 4 Rear Deck,, im going to be usen my stock radio from my 2010 Acura TSX, can i get more info Advice on what i will be needing ? Or how would i connect the LOc
Hey guys, love the videos. I have a question I am considering adding a RF P300-10 powered sub to my corolla factory head unit. since the sub has high level inputs do you still recommend using a hi to low converter or just go directly with high into the sub.
+Nikolay Rashev no HI to Lo need for that sub system
Five Star Car Stereo thank you very much
Wat two wires do I hook the striped wire and solid white wire to
If you use the power and ground from the amplifier to turn on the LP 7- 2 and the blue wire from the LP 7-2 to the amplifier remote how does the lp 7-2 turn on and off
Hey just wanted to know if you guys ever ran into this problem or if I just wired it wrong. I tapped into rear speaker wires and removed the rear speakers completely. I try adjusting the gain on the LOC and I get about 1.9v max. I get 1.9v with the gain only about half way turned up, as I turn it up more my voltage starts to drop, any ideas?
hi its me again so i have 2 questions 1st is i have the 2018 charger and want to know what fuse would be best to run remote wire to if i don’t buy this kind of converter cause i have 2 the old one of this brand and a clear one so might as well put one to use unless i get one with a bass knob and my 2nd question is do i have to disconnect the noise canceling mics in the headliner? cause some stereo shops tell me i do so the subs won’t make noise and i really don’t wanna do that cause I’m use the bluetooth in my car plus i don’t wanna pay to have them install it when i know how to do it myself i might just give yall a call tomorrow if that number is still good
So I I have the kicker loc, do I have to use the right side and left? Could I just tap the left rear door speaker? 15 chevy silverado crewcab, thank you!
Awesome video! Any info for the LP7-4.. ? I'm doing an install with aftermarket radio but keeping the factory amp .
monkey42601 basically it works the exact same way just has 4 channels. We don't use the 4 channel all the often. We try to go with the Audio Control LC7i
Five Star Car Stereo can I wire the yellow and blue with the yelllow and blue output from the radio harnesS? That's where I'm confused .. I got the audio wires ready to go just not sure what to do with the yellow blue and black wire! Thanks
I was wondering, for this specific product, on the speaker side do you connect it just to one pair of wires for one speaker or will it go for all the speakers?
Alfredo Cantu if you are adding a sub you can tap a left and right speaker. Some people will tap one front and one rear, if you fade the radio at all. You can also just tap one speaker.
How do you find the sub frequency?
good stuff. i have 2 questions to loc degrade the sound quality? and is an loc that is capable of putting out more volts better? so you dont have to turn up the sensitivity knob up therefore lowering the noise floor?
DigitalErra yes on both, check out this video

Hey folks I have a question I just purchased A MTX terminator two 12s in 1 boxand the amp is 1200 Watts also terminator.
I have it in my 2003 Pontiac grand am.
I feel like it's not beating to it's full potential so I went back over my wiring and the h-l-i cord is not hooked up.
Am I supposed to run new wire from back of radio to the hli piece or how do I hook up that part? Please help ASAP.
SHOULD I BUY NEW AMP OR DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG???
Can you use that to power two 6 by 9s ?
hello, I do NOT have a need for a remote turn on wire. Is there a benefit to buying an LP7-2 over buying the simple LP3? I simply need high to low conversion to RCA. Does the lp7 have better sound quality or something?
Really help full. I have one doubt sir. What is the difference between line out put converter and DSP
LOC is strictly for going high level to low level (speaker wire to RCA for amplifiers) and a DSP is a digital signal processor that is able to manipulate sound and tune by adding equalization effects, adjust crossovers, etc.
Very very nice!!!
Was the yellow power or ground?
So the power and ground that comes off of that Hook to the power and ground to the amp I have a really bad buzzing noise right when I turn off the car like really loud bass constant Would I need a tune or something to get that to Go away
This helped a lot. One question, I ran a speaker line from after my factory amp. That line is showing roughly 8 volts on a multi-meter, does that sound right? Did I grab a non speaker wire? It's a 2018 Durango with the Beats system so there's about 3 million different wires.
Thanks!
You’re a legend
Wow great vid
+fat catt 39 thank you
If I don't have the extra RCA that you cut off to use to test the volts like you did in the video ,would I just put the positive to the terminal of the loc and negative on the vehicle ??? I used this product in my DodgeDart when I first put my system in it but just got a nice tester and would like to adjust the game the new school way lol 12in alpine type r sounds good but always would like to make it better if there's room for improvement👍🏻
cory shaffer connect the positive test probe to the inside of the rca hole. Connect the negative to the rca shield or out side of the rca.
I’m only able to get about .6 max for my voltage out of the LOC, what could be my problem?
Do I need to install a loc if I’m just upgrading speakers and adding a amp with no subwoofer?
How do you wire that into a 2018 Tahoe LT amp is in the rear side panel driver side really need to know ?????
So if you wire the loc next to your amplifier do you just tap into a rear speaker?
3000 Pioneer in a 1500 w Zeus amp how do I wire it dual voice coil it
Where are you tapping into for 12v for the remote turn on?
Nesesito uno de esos para ponerselo a una chevy silverado 2011 traigo el estereo orijinal pero nose cual es el adecudo y el mejor para poner un amplificador me podrar desir cual puedo usar
U have several questions and cannot find a utube that is specific to
it...
1 - Do I have to use the Power Yellow and the Remote Blue cable if my
Amp already has it ? Meaning all I will need to connect is the Speaker
wire.
2 - I have the PAC LP7-4 L.O.C. PRO Series 4-Channel device, I'm only
going to tap in the rear speakers, so I will use 2 channel on the PAC,
can I just twist the other two channels together ? Meaning I will use
the White and Gray for the 2 channels, can I just twist the Green to the
White and the Purple to the Gray for all 4 channels and then go all 4
channels to my amp RCA ?
3 - The the Gain on the PAC will only have the adjustment on one side which is the Right and Left Rear Or Front ? or would I need to adjust both Gains to the same ?
Stock 2016 f150 snyc3 leaving factory radio running the lp7-4 into a old pioneer 4 channel amp to run all four door speakers should I cut all rca on lp7-4 harness and splice speaker per speaker in loc. Also I do not want door chime or other to be amplified so I not power the loc and run a remote from the fuse box I the am then using the rca out on my amp to run a kicker hideaway.
+enviouseyes is it a Sony system?
Five Star Car Stereo no Sony
I went ahead and did install all works great fActory chimes and alert all work great. I still have some noise playing through would this be the time I connect the ground and power or will that not have any bearing on noise reduction
Hello there, I have Honda accord 2013 and I am trying to hook the Amp and sub to the factory head and speakers. have the same pac LP7-2 as in the video. My question to you is in the end of the video you mentioned if you decided to put the LOC to the amp at the back. You could use LOC power wire, ground wire and hook straight to the amp.Could I still hock my remote wire to the amp as well. Also, would the remote wire still need to come out from the fuse box from the front of the car to the amp or to the LOC and then mount it to the Amp.Please advice. Thanks
+Jassi Dhesi the great feature of this high to low is it will make the remote turn on for you. The blue wire is an output not an input. If you connect the yellow, black, blue right to the amp, it will turn on the amp when it has sound come in over the speaker wires. No going to the fuse box.
Five Star Car Stereo where would the blue remote turn on wire connect to on the amplifier?
So where did that rca for the smd come from. I have a dd1.
Have you had any issues with the remote signal sense? Example, closing the car door and the change in pressure moving the speaker cones.
Ovin we have not seen that one but we do have a couple of fun things that drive us crazy. In any VW we have to add a SNI1 noise filter or when you take out the key the sub goes crazy. That also happens in some American cars. The other issue we run into is when a new car wakes up( a door opens) the amp turns on for a couple of minutes then goes back to sleep. This sometimes make customers think their amp is staying on because every time they open the door to check the amp is on.
Would this only work with speaker line in to activate? or would RCA audio line from say, iphone audio out trigger it on?
I talked to a tech at Pac about using this in a 2017 civic w/factory radio to connect to a RF powered sub. He said "Needs constant ground and signal from your factory speakers and it will generate the 12v turn-on". I'm confused. No remote or power???
If you could help me out. I can’t get rid of the static in my car hook up. And I have a popping sound when I turn my car off.
I am going to buy the 4 channel version and and jump RCA from 4 way amp for speakers to 2 way amp for subs. Is the line level for the subs the one I should use or for the speakers? Is this going to work or do I need 2 PAC line converters 1 for speakers 1 for subs?
LP7-> 4xRCA {line level?}-> 4 ch amp-> 2x rca jumper from 4ch amp-> sub amp
CSK Designs no that would work, the 4 channel works just like 2-2 channels
Hey bud i love your work man !! I installed this same LOC in my Toyota Corolla ‘16 and every time I turn off my vehicle it plays a low note like of 30hz . Any suggestions on how to fix this problem ? Thank you
Mine does it when i turn it on haha 16 honda accord
I had a question. so basically if i put this loc unit by my amp i would plug in the power wire into the amps power wire to power the lp72?
Alex Arlic yes that is the way we use
I'm going to install this in my trunk, question is can I just tie -wires and +positive wires into 1 rear speaker ?
I have the same question did you figure it out?
Where is you getting the black and gold wire from where is it coming from behind the radio
My Voltage only went up to 1.7 so is that fine or what?
