Joseph Inman thank you
always interesting, even for an spl and sq guy. love when yall get really technical. im talking, box porting, different banpass box designs, amp hours, xmech, db metering, efficiency, stuff like that
indopleaser thank you, some day for sure
Looks like a nice deck. Many congratulations to the state of Florida and the US on the new chief in command of USA. The start of a revolution.
Good tips guys I liked this style of video. Please make a video on amplifier gains and how to set them, especially when you have multiple components, i.e. LOCs, with line drivers, DSPs. Thanks as always.
Brian Miles it is on the list, thank you
I'd like to see a discussion on keeping factory vs aftermarket headunit. What all is required to keep steering wheel and hands free vs keeping factory and using LOC or DSP to feed amplifiers. What are your thoughts on those choices?
Great video guys, the point about bluetooth not all being equal is so true, when setting my gains using my dd1 I found that I could set the volume offset to 6 and go full volume (35) without clipping on USB but bluetooth clips at 32 even with the volume offset at 0. Kenwood kmm-bt304
Great video please do more of these
Very very helpful. I love alpine btw lol. My complete system will be alpine or Ken wood when I get myself a truck .
loved the video, great place to start... a video on aftermarket speakers and all you need would be great
You guys are so amazing. Thanks great info.
+S Cin thank you
Great video, would suggest adding the consideration of; "Do I want to mirror my phone on the stereo screen?". I bought Pioneer's AVH-X5800BHS only to discover that I can't mirror my Android phone on the stereo screen without adding a modification. I'll probably do that at some point (using the instructions in one of your other videos) but wish I'd understood that a bit better when I was shopping for a new stereo.
Paul Arthur thank you. yeah, definitely a good idea for sure.
I liked this kind of info, please do more of this
very helpful indeed thanks guys
techingo tumadre thank you
loved it great info, can you do a video on subwoofers explaining the difference between a 2 ohm and 4 ohm and the sound you would get from each please and thank you
Trivus Griffin thank you. Ohm load we have
Check this out

Kenyon Worthen II not a fan
great video, but now days cars come with features packed stock radios and its really hard to replace it with an aftermarket... maybe u guys can make a video giving tips on how to work with what u have already.
adrian diaz great idea we will definitely do that
I'm interested in upgrading the sound quality in my 2017 Tundra but I want to keep my current stock stereo w/navigation. In your opinion will I still get great sound vs going aftermarket? I plan on upgrading the amp speakers and sub
Thanks for this informative video. I have a 2015 Honda Accord LX and I want to upgrade my stereo, is there a way to keep the imid screen and rest of the controls that come integrated with factory radio. It will be really helpful if you can share some information regarding this. The reason I m asking this is bcoz the factory radio has settings for headlights, door locks, all sort of fancy things. I already upgraded my speakers to new infinity speakers, they sound good but there is no clarity, no high frequency response. Plz help
karan supple go to www. Metraonline.com for that kit. 99-7804b
Let's continue this discussion let us know how do we find out what type of Bluetooth chips are in these radios I'm looking to buy a new radio and I will mostly use Bluetooth so how do I know what kind of Bluetooth chip has been put in the radio
Great information, thanks guys, great job.
Tim datoolman thanks
What do you guys use to calibrate the crossovers? I know the same cc1 is useful but currently unavailable. Is there a different tool or method u use
What up guys , love the videos 👍 quick question have a 07 Avalanche having a hard time picking between two radios , pioneer Avh - 4200 or kenwood ddx-9903 or kenwood ddx-0703s. I watch the comparison several times , just can't pick one , kinda like the sleek look of the kenwood , where the pioneer lower buttons stick out just a little when dash mounted , both great radios ... help????
Tonyoneandonly Smith I had the same issue, I went 9903. That screen sold me.
I really appreciate the information bcuz I'm not knowledgeable about electronics. I'm wanting to upgrade the radio in my 2014 Nissan Juke but I'm not sure if it has Rockford system or not. I'm interested in the Pioneer AVIC/NEX systems bcuz of Bluetooth, apple carplay, CD's but I also want to add a rear camera with park assist. For the features I want, can you give me some advice on a few options? It is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Phyllis Bell-Sutton I would look into the Pioneer AVH-4201nex, Sony XAv-av100,or the Kenwood dmx7704s
Thanks, do you have any reviews on the suggested radios?
Hooking up an aftermarket radio to factory speaker wiring that has two separate locations for front speakers. Here's the question. I have a 05 Nissan Frontier with a six speaker setup. The rear speakers are straight forward but the factory front speaker wiring goes to door and the dash. I replaced the door speakers with some three way Alpine speakers but left the factory speakers in the dash. I'm worried that I'm not getting the best performance from the new speakers if I leave the dash speakers hooked up. How do you guys wire up a setup like this to get the best performance?
Michael Tilly we would pull the factory dash speaker to see if they have any crossover( like a cap bass blocker). If no we would add one to block the bass. Most of the time we recommend replacing them with a tweeter or a driver of similar size.
Hey wats up guys I wanted to know is there a after market radio for a 2010 Lexus es 350 with navigation and and Mark Levinson system that will retain all the controls
Nice video guys alway liked your in depth reviews on the head units but what's a good single din dvd head unit ?? saw this Pioneer Dvh-875 AVBT can you say if it's any good if not any recommendations
Adrian Morgan have you looked at the avh-x7800bt
Five Star Car Stereo not seeing in where I'm located
Adrian Morgan ok, where are you if I might ask?
Five Star Car Stereo Jamaica n I've looked at the unit you suggested it's great , how's the motor on the flip out like are the durable
Adrian Morgan very durable, they have been making it for years now with no issues.
You guys should do a top 5 radios of the year ; )
Lee Vazquez thank you great idea, we shot it today. We made two, top 5 radio with a screen and top 5 CD players. They will be up next week, I hope you like them
Excellent, can't wait to check it out. Keep up the good work
With the new 2016+ cars, where everything its completely integrated into the vehicle system. Its better to go with a digital sound processor instead if Good audio quality is the goal. Pretty sure rockford just made a DSP thats compatible with the IDATA link maestro. that works with factory amplifiers which seems like the way to go because auto manufacturers are slowly killing the car audio audio market.
Jeff DaChef yes they did just team up and PAC is coming out with theirs soon. The thing you have to keep in mind is these kit companies have no plans of going out of business. For that matter, neither do the radio manufacturers. Some of them make the factory radios. The future is coming and it will get harder or easier only time will tell. Something to consider is a five year old car has obsolete technology in it whether it was made in 2010 or 2020. One more thing is, it is not like the factory radio will last forever, come see me when your Ford F-150 radio breaks in 4 years after the warranty is up. You will be hoping for and aftermarket fix then for sure. Sorry rant over.
more is allways great thank you
Can you show that Camaro PAC kit in more details? Maybe install too ? 😂
maroturbo383 yes it is for my car. We have a ton of stuff coming on that.( when we have time to work on our own car)
Can't tell you how many times I've installed a $60 head unit with $300 worth of parts. lol
firebirdude2 right!
great video
Terry Wash thank you
Do I need a sound processor if I have a pioneer nex head unit?
Most Pioneer radios have everything you will need, EQ, crossover, and time correction
Thank you for all your help and awesome show
Thanks, guys. Is there a "simple" way to reconnect and use the factory subwoofer from my MY06 Forester to an Alpine iLX-007E?
nchia if you just want a simple amp check out one of these
ua-cam.com/video/E2M72O6ye3E/v-deo.html
I've watched that video (again). Wouldn't it need something between that and the iLX-007E? The iLX-007E subwoofer out is RCA...
nchia yeah this would be a basic solution, like just get it playing again. This amp will not give you use of the sub control. For a better alternative, check out the Rockford PBR amps. They make a 300.1 that would be perfect.
I'd prefer something simple, directly setting from the Alpine iLX-007E and add a bit more bass. Can't get the Alpine KTP-190U in Australia. Would the KTP-445U be wasted on factory speakers, or would it negate the need for a separate sub to a degree?
nchia you can use half of the 445u to power the sub. Yes I would get it, power makes it always sound better.
the dealer where I bought my car told me I can't up grade my cars radio. is that true? please help. I have a dodge charger 2015
martin Arnaud any radio can be upgraded at a price. dealers, 9 times out of 10, have no clue what they're talking about anyway
martin Arnaud at the moment there is no kit for that car, but my guess is you will see one next year.
Thanks
thanks you help me alot
spidersn6 glad we can help
Would a double din fit in a 99 gmc Sierra

I bought 2 kits for my car Metra and American... something(I forgot the name). the Metra was pretty bad in finish and in material flimsiness. American was much better quality. and it looked better.
Phil Indeblanc American is now best kits, they bought them. They are also PAC-audio and Stinger
500? time to look at a dsp
