Just did all according to your instructions. Everything worked well except one thing. How tf did you manage to get that battery out with only one hand. 😂 That grip must be as firm as an eagle. 😆
Thank you for the video! On a side note, my HR-V is a 2022 and the battery died after only 2 years. I find this kinda odd as I've had cars where the battery has lasted longer than the alternator and that was 10+ years on my Malibu and Grand Am.
@@TheGreatVojageeverything was fine and then one day while in the garage it didn’t start up. When I turned the key it would sputter and wouldn’t turn over and I didn’t hear the starter turning. I jumped it and it started up no problem so I left it on a battery tender thinking it was a fluke and everything was good for about a month then it did it again. I jumped it and it was good for 3 weeks, then wash and repeat until it’d only start if jumped. I held out as long as I could because batteries are expensive and when it’d only start jumped is when I decided to replace it. Kinda odd since the car was only 2 years old, but I guess that’s just how things are these days, engineered to a fault of the lowest possible standards.
I think the OEM Honda (lead acid) battery is pretty good. Our 2018 HR-V just recently started to show signs of battery fatigue after 6 years. EDIT: I love how the negative terminal screw is angled upwards making it easier to loosen. Somebody had their thinking cap on when they designed that.
Great video! Thank you! I do have a question. I forgot to put the black cardboard battery box back when installing the battery. I removed it to get rid of some dirt in the battery tray. Is it critical to have that black cardboard around the battery? Please let me know.
Great video. We have a 2019 and went to start it on January 1st and dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and clicking sound. Jumped car, been running great since. Today, same problem. Battery was at 11.7 V. Think new battery will work or is it something else?
I would start with replacing the battery. If you still experience the no start/clicking after replacing the battery, I’d say the Starter is your issue. But a 2019 HR-V starter going bad already is rare
After changing the battery i did get the anti theft as well as a ton of lights on the dash. And most unfortunate, the car was immobilized. It will not move at all.
If the car will not move at all, something else is definitely wrong…when you say “not move at all”, will the car turn on and just not go into gear, or the car will not turn on at all?
@@str8oil Thanks for your video and reply! The car would turn on and I was able to shift to drive/ reverse, but the car would not move; as if the parking brake were permanently engaged/ stuck. However, after troubleshooting, it was disconnecting and connecting the battery again, that did the trick! Thanks again!
Hi. I have a 2019 Handa HRV 1.8L. I can not loosen the positive terminal. the bolt that you loosened is just a cap screwed on to a threaded stud. I can compley unscrew this cap, but the threaded stud remains in there there tight.
I had my battery replaced and the day after all of the dash lights came on. The brake light the brake system, ABS, parking light, steering wheel light, and the antilock brake light. What’s going on? Ever heard of such a thing? My mechanic checked it and he didn’t even know what the code was and he said it would t even let him erase the code.
Have you or your mechanic tried driving the car since these lights have been on? If you have, you will probably have to take your car to the Dealer and get them to clear the lights…is the car driving any differently? Or still not starting up normally since the battery replacement?
Newer cars and suv"s can ( will) lose the memories stored in the computer which made the vehicle run properly. The rpms will be off. The vehicle will need to be driven a 100 miles or so before memories are restored.
@@str8oilI just did a battery change-out on my daughter’s ‘18 HR-V. The terminal connectors are 10mm and so are the battery bracket holders. No worries.

Very clear and easy to follow. Thank you for posting!

Thanks man. Just swapped my battery out with this video for my first time. Smooth !

Fantastic video. Thank you very much. Had mine replaced in less than 20 minutes. Clean install and started right up 👍
Such a painless process, thanks for sharing!

Look easy. I assume the process is the same on the CRV2019.
Such a great tutorial!!! Thank you!!
Thanks man, took me 5 minutes with this

Curious! What were the symptoms of your battery dying??? Did you battery show it was "okay"

Hey, do you uninstalled the battery then reinstalled it? I’m having the same problem but my car DOES move. I’m so confused.
Is this similar to what would happen in a 2018 HRV model? There's a battery sensor and I couldn't figure out how to remove it.
The process shown in this video is the same on a 2018 HRV, what exactly do you mean with the sensor?

Possibly, but holding down the power button should work

You should jam it with another small battery before pulling the old battery
