- Riders of Justice - Movie Review
Saw Riders of Justice, starring Mads Mikkelsen, for the first time last week, and what a treat it was! I have NO cons.

Fabulous movie. I love Madds Mikkelsen. You’re right about the characters being superbly written.
Try ‘Another Round’ and ‘The Hunt’.
I have seen The Hunt mentioned so often and the subject matter has always made me hesitate. I feel such a sense of doom about it. Like it will crush my heart or something. I do want to see it at some point, though. Have not heard of Another Round, but I will look it up. Thanks, Lisa!
We don't do much slapstick or superficial comedy in Denmark. It either has a purpose, or it's really, really dark.
For other dark comedy flicks from Denmark, there's Flickering Lights (very similar to this one in tone), Adam's Apples, The Green Butchers, Men & Chicken and many more.
If you want to see The Hunt as others suggested, I actually recommend watching The Celebration (1998) first, then The Hunt. Both are by Tomas Vinterberg (Another Round), both are very dark (no comedy) movies, with a serious subject.
The two are very different in the way they were made, so if you don't like the first, don't let it affect you, to watch the second.
I have The Hunt on my watchlist but haven't seen it yet because I've hard that the subject matter is pretty heavy and I'm not always ready for that. Had not heard of the other film, but I will add it to my watch list on Letterboxd.
Oops - yes, I HAD heard of that film and already had it in my watch list - haha
@@CynsCorner They are both a hard watch. But that shouldn't discourage you from watching them.
Definitely not discouraged from watching. Just have to be in the "right" mood for things like that.
@@CynsCorner I totally get that, and have it the same way, with these kind of movies.
And the better they actually are, once you watch or rewatch them.
I've been watching more foreign language media recently. Those from Europe to be specific, since I already watch a lot of Asian stuff anyway. Having a much better success ratio at finding entertaining stuff.
You should also check out another danish movie named Adams æbler (2005) with Mads Mikkelsen and by the same director.
Oh nice! Hadn't heard of that one. Thank you!
Thanks for this review. Had forgotten about this movie. Added it to my BD shopping list. Cheerio.
Enjoy! It's so good!
Haven’t heard of this movie and that’s awesome that there is no negative in with you mads is really starting to shine and love the premise of the movie will def put this on my watchlist great review Cyn
I hope you enjoy it! As you can tell, I loved it. 😄
I watched this last week on film 4 and i really thought it was pretty good, i had never heard of it and only watched it as an afterthought. The Danes make some pretty decent movies but because they are generally with subtitles i don't think many English speakers bother to watch them, thought Mikelsson was very good in The Hunt from a few years back, he is a pretty versatile actor in my opinion.
I have heard about The Hunt multiple times. Haven't been brave enough to watch it though because it seems like it's pretty heavy.
@@CynsCorner Yes it's a bit heavy however it's well acted and you really feel for what his character is going through and how easily people tend to believe the worse , I think it's worth watching.
No cons? Wow! I am shocked that a movie like this you really loved because I’ll be honest the poster doesn’t look great. I think I also remember Lisa Loves being a fan so I may have to check this out :-)
Nope - NO cons for me on this one. *Maybe* if I re-watched it, a con might stick out but as of the first viewing, nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. I hope you enjoy it!
Whats really impressive is that they fit all this content into a 100 minutte movie AND it dont feel rushed
EXACTLY!! Such impressive storytelling.
@@CynsCorner I have a weakness for strong/stoic characters that finally break down, that bathroom scene hit me in my soul
