A perfect opportunity to replay it, just to listen to Sunset Coastline (which must rank as one of the best first mission/level soundtracks in gaming) This PS5 version is actually good for those who wisely opted for the Vita version (i.e. the original platform and benefitted from its portability) instead of the PS4 version, and now want to try the console experience.
The perfect way to combine both is to play the Swith version. Even so I also pre-ordered the PS5 Special Edition because I just love this game so much (comes from somebody who owns 3 physical versions of Nier Automata and 4 of Persona 5 (Royal)).
That song is actually what I DON'T like about the game. It's not bad by a long shot but I played through Ys Origin on Switch and then 1-4 on Turbo CD before going to 8 on Switch. The music of the others is more guitar/rock driven. This song is really "happy" and the main tune sounds like it should be a person singing lyrics to me so I always involuntarily fill in my own lyrics which I actually find to be annoying, and I felt like that song played WAAAAAAAY too much. I realllllly like the music in the old games better. 8 is an awesome awesome game, but it has a few annoying flaws... All the hunts and defend the camp stuff was really repetitive, and again, I didn't think the music was as strong as some other Falcon stuff. The music in Ys 1-4 is absolutely godly... I think I take about 60% of my enjoyment of those games from the music alone. Usually music is pretty low on my list of things to care about in a game, though obviously good music is.. good... Ys 8 looks pretty good looking on PS5. If I ever get a PS5 I might think about it. Maybe the PC version would be better? Never tried it.

I rather do a ng+ on the ps4 ver.
Why would you not talk anything about at least a few visual differences, resolution, framerate options , etc. Lol Especially framerate since no fancy capture tools are needed to know what its targeting
Looked up a few other UA-camrs, can confirm there is a 120fps mode. Please mention this when it comes to remasters please, its pretty important and silly to leave out. Solid review otherwise NP
do those costumes come with the PS5 version?
yes
Witcher 3 incoming update is free.
Ys 8 PS4 version is on my system/backlog, even a cheaper upgrade path would have made this acceptable.
I paid Sony for an updated Playstation, I'm not paying a premium price to Falcom to tweak the settings in a game I already own.
GRRRRR!!!!!!!!
Sold my PS4 version to get the PS5 one.
i heard this song in my head before i clicked on the video lol
It’s my favorite
To be honest, i´m playing the Ps4 version on a ps4 and i cant tell the diffrence! Whats new?
Feel like the Dana stuff mentioned towards the end was kinda spoilery. Id skip if you haven't played the game
One of the best games of all time
Im glad playstation is still sticking to their roots n keep focusing on jrpgs developers n paying them more attention make playstation a japan console again sony
It’s a shame that DLC costumes are not coming to PS4 version. Other than that, this game already runs and plays great on a base PS4. No need to buy again!
one of my favorite games of all time, i would love to buy it and play it again but i dont have a ps5 yet lol
What abouty ys9?
since this one is available in ps plus, as ps4, also 60fps, is it still worth it?
Ps4 version not available anymore now your forced to buy this version if you want to play it.
One statement need to be repair , when the game first came out it was unplayable and for pc it got crash easily after getting in the island and get the major dislike from the steam communities and complaints.
But after time the developer Have Already Solve it with bugs solving updates , it no longers crash or extreme lags in PC so its not Permenantly unplayable.
I dont have a Ps4 so i wont comment it,i leave to you guys but the PC version is playable.
Please Pin this comment 🙏
it's shame no way to upgrade to next gen
I finally bought the PS4 version a few days ago, lol.
The doll on adol hand XD
Free Ps4 to Ps5 upgrade?
I have Ys8 PlayStation 4 version physical
This is an awesome game. Great story. Dana should've become a permanent character in the YS series 😆
I loved the game but its too pricey
Falcom starting to be scummy with their best friend NISA lol. This offers nothing different at all
Ys 8 on PS5 review I'm already playing on PS5 what are you talking about.
*Goes to NIS America store*
*Sees collector's Edition PlayStation 5 pre-orders for $100 with all the past goodies except the letter opener*
*pre-orders immediately*
Oh my God yes I didn't have to pay 3 to 4 hundred dollars for a collector's edition this time
excellent game, really blew me away when i played it... but recommending all comers to ng on hard is a bit much, no to that.
Full price for this is a hard buy for me :(
I miss dana ☹️
Frame rate & resolution options?
everything the switch touch looks ugly man... does it work with 120 fps on the ps5?
But it was better than the Switch version right?
I dunno, VI will always remains the best for me
Just did 2hours.
Soundtrack great and flashy.
Some certain newer games got totally on my nerves with their endless grind and endless texts.
love this game
It's a good game kinda basic but still good. 9 does everything better except the story
What a scam no path to upgrade so we have to pay full price for better frames smh. That’s just scummy business practices but of course people will defend this
It sucks, but it felt much worse when they did this with a game as huge as Persona 5
Free upgrades are a thing of the past. THEY NEED TO END! Stop being so cheap and support the devs n
@@WitcherFreak yeah because Falcom is hurting for money 😂
That game already had mtx for “time savers” matter of fact all their games have various mtx. This campaign for support the devs is past its due date, charging another 60$ for previous owners for some frames is never going to ok. But I see they got you indoctrinated
@@WitcherFreak if you want to support the devs so bad why don’t you just give them money for nothing that’s basically what you’re doing
@@Juju-cm7ge If you want the upgrade then buy it. If not then shut the fuck up. Your crybaby bitching isn’t going to change anything. Gamers need to stop being so cheap and stop expecting everything for free.
Quite frankly I think ATLUS is losing money, I know several people (including me) that aren’t buying this, never, but rather would have bought the upgrade.
Why does it still look like a ps2 game
For a channel named noisy pixel you're not very noisy
Cmon falcom you guys have been pretty lazy after playing crimson sin, that game could've been so much more. What's going on? Sky-cold steel was solid
Is this game appropriate for 11 year old girls? Some of the images I see in this review look a little sketchy, but maybe I'm just getting old.
Just buy the ps4 version, plays just fine. Graphics are not that great, gameplay is good enough. Not worth buying it again for me.
Not paying over MSRP for a physical copy.
Cash grab, where is the free ps5 patch if you already own the ps4 version?????
That's rich coming from a scalper selling the original version for double MSRP.
Also available on ps vita
I refuse to pay $40
Rip off for the price by the game at 60 fps lol.
PC only bruh
what a waste buying this for the ps5
