and they all seem to have one thing in common, they are well made and very well priced...

😍 I love this watch, classic styling and timeless, I dont give a dang whose name is on the dial when it is done right like this one! I love those perfect dimensions for those of us with smaller wrist.
The large, flat polished center links are a deal breaker for me. There are so many other bracelet designs that still add a touch of bling like a BOR, jubilee style, or other multi-link style. But, they don't show scratches quite like a polished center link. The rest of the watch is really nice. Absolutely love that shade of green!
They're doing that great thing that most microbrands miss - ensuring the rehaut is super shallow. Just shows they care properly about the design !
Never will get used to the next level photography on your channel, yes I know it is Literally your job but other in the same profession don’t get close 🔥

Looks really nice but I think it’s silly to have a 41 and 39mm. That’s too close in size. I think 38 and 41 would be more practical. Also, I never understand why company’s use butterfly clasps. I have never heard of anyone actually liking that style over a normal micro adjusted clasp. I do really like those dial colors and choice of steel though.

Got a AD8 and a Hitman (thai) last time I was in BKK. Great value for the quality and they even went out of their way to get me all the discounts available. Great accessories and both are loom monsters ;)

Added to my incredibly lengthy watch shopping list, Wise are making some really lovely pieces. I've started to get over my OCD for scratches on polished centre links, its a gradual step by step process learning to embrace the scratches and not feel sadness at each one reflecting back at me... 😅
I so love the look of these watches. I’ve owned two watches with Miyota 9000 movements. Great time keepers, but I struggle with the feel when I wind the watch. It feels like I’m grinding something, like I’m using a pepper mill instead of winding a watch. Not smooth like a Seiko, ETA, or Sellita movement.
I know… but if I’m spending that money, I want the feel to be enjoyable…
I agree. I like the look of these watches, but I’d rather pay more to get a sellita movement.
Wow you described it pretty much spot-on, the winding feels really sandy on mine too. Is this unique to watches with the Miyota 9 series?
The price was low enough for me to bite the bullet and purchase the turquoise version and I have to say from the communication, the packaging and presentation it's still hard for me to believe they're offering this much for so little money. The quality of the fit and finish of the watch is amazing, it came in a beautiful wooden box. Literally the only slight con(if you'd even call it that) is that the movement even with the custom rotor isn't much to look at, but then again at this price point you're not expecting hand finished movements with geneva stripes.

I just recently got the AD951 in 39mm and I have to say, the red sunburst dial is beautiful and the overall build quality is impressive. My main gripe is the crown though, the winding feels a bit sandy but not a dealbreaker. Cheers for your recommendation!

Wow. That strap really changed things up. I gotta say though that style or shape of that bracelet is awesome. Some may find this dial bland and basic but I really like that clean minimal look and that colour is 👌👌
Beautiful watch but I suspect you probably have some thanks due from Wise for that photography as well. Really gorgeous stuff. I love that they went to the trouble of designing the bracelet instead of selecting one from the catalog. I can count on one hand the microbrands I've see that have done that. I've been impressed with Wise for quite a while now, they seem to do things the way they ought to be done.
Right. The bracelet is literally half the watch. 👍
The Arken Instrumentum, with its beautifully profiled titanium bracelet is the only other example of a microbrand watch with a unique bracelet form (that I know of)
Great review as always. An adjustable clasp would have been the icing on the cake.The new ad751 ( none patterned steel ) on shell cordovan strap looks very nice. I have 2 "Wise" watches and very happy with the quality. Hope to see more "Wise" reviews on your site.😊

Yeah, but then again, the aqua terra is immensely popular and that’s what they’re going for I suppose. I’d prefer no polish too though
Very nice piece. I don't know the brand (only heard about it but never handled one) but this seems to be very well priced for what it delivers .
Oh I suggest you should check out their limited edition flieger chronograph too. Anyway, nice review, but even Citizen is cheaper than this brand, even it's my local brand haha

Great review as always Peter. I really like what WISE are doing but if I'm being truly honest I always feel there is always just a little something missing that would have me rushing for my wallet. Have to admit though that bracelet is very nice as most micros seem to be shifting towards jubilee bracelets, which can get a little boring.

Great review! Thanks. I have this watch in a dark meteorite dial on leather. Been thinking about buying the bracelet for it, or buy another watch. Also have a nice diver from them. Quality and value at a top level.
The scratching on the polished center links is going to happen. Can't let the OCD bother you😂. Have a beautiful ball marvelite m with a polished bracelet. Scratches immediately! Gave up and accepted it. Ended up putting it on a gray sail cloth band from strapco. Wow! Much better look and feel.

Looks very nice and appears to offer amazing value, but the 2 sizes they offer are so close together I don't understand the choice there. If it's meant to be an OP alternative, they should at least offer a 36mm or 37mm variant.

I guess you have to see it in person, for me, with that logo, it looks like an alibaba brand with an nh-35 movement.

Great looking watch but the case design would have been much better if done in the Oyster Perpetual style
Nice to see a review of the AD9 and the new bracelet. I'll just say it, to me the AD9 coloured dial series had always just looked a little bland. There is plenty to like, but it just feels a little bit generic in its design. The typography on the dial to ne doesnt blend so well with the dressy sports accents. The case is a little too simple, even if the lugs drop down nicely. Indeed, as you show, from the side the bracelet doesn't look so well integrated into the watch, which would be reason against it for me. What would work wonders, I think, is a fitted rubber instead. The rubber actually for me made this watch look smarter, while the bracelet added more bling. While I likw the effect of polushed centre links, I'll say that it might just be a but too much here. The positive surprise in this review for me has been the dial furniture, which really looks as good as I've come to expect from your footage of the brand, and crucially, this hue of green looks so nuch better in your photography than it looks on their website. Their promo photos show a range of colours which all seem arguably a touch too vibrant leaning on vibrant. The green you show is nuch mire moody, still lively, but with subtlety. Perhaps they're dojng themselves a disservice here!
I would love to get a Wise watch, but they are not available within the EU. Also, I don't get why do so many companies insist on using twin-trigger butterfly clasp.

Hi I am from Belgium (EU) I have 2 wise watches, both on pre order stage, simple order on their website, no problem, shipping with DHL and on time, nice communication with them, super nice watches. Regards
@@peterspaepen2861 unfortunately, where I live (EU) these will almost definitely get stopped by customers, and I'll have to pay half the price of the watch, if I'm lucky, for customs and duties.

Some things that I see as complaints from watch reviewers I just don't understand. Rotor noise bring one of them. Even the loudest movements I've heard are barely a whir. If anything, I think it's charming. One of the biggest complaints I've seen of EVs is the lack of noise, of any character. The enjoyment of a mechanical watch is that it's MECHANICAL. If anything, I want it to make some noise. Please...
Personally I don't mind rotor noise. I only mention it to be thorough
People have purchased a watch in the past from one of my reviews and they made mention how annoying the rotor noise was for them and they would have thought twice in buying the watch if they knew about it....
The Omega Speedmaster in reverse panda I had years ago had a Valjoux base and it was LOUD...but I LOVED it because it gave the watch a sense of character as you mentioned 👍

Good question, I think the Pitzmann 2 has the edge on this, considering the movement and finishing is slightly better. As for the Nivada, they are about on par

It is just me, or is the bracelet TOO polished? Like its almost like a mirror, which, although with its great value, makes it look a lot cheaper than it is.

It seem to work really well in Thailand.

Nice looking watch but as with many micro brands the name or the logo lets it down. I really don’t like the mixed polished and brushed bracelet; just a matter of personal preference.

I know the Swiss culture. They are raised to be precise and the best isn’t good enough. Other than the Germanic countries and the Japanese, there are no other cultures that come close. So, when they produce something, there is a reason it is top dollar.

I hate the brand name and the logo. Can't deal with that no matter what the quality may be. If you can nail the quality you can also nail a brand identity. So....
