I've been collecting micro-brand watches for about 2 years now, and incredibly, I've never come across your channel until today. I'm so glad I did! Your commentary is spot-on, well prepared and edited perfectly. And, being a lume-nut-guy, I totally appreciate your methodology of lume testing, which goes far beyond any other watch channel. And you're correct.... this watch has absolutely insane lume! Glad to be aboard your channel.
I'm really loving my left-handed full lume Hitman. I've had it for a month or so and worn it almost every day. Surprisingly, I really like the no-date feature. Not only does it maximize the full lume effect, but it really makes setting the watch easier when it has run down.
I love the watch and the fact you can customise it to make it unique to you is so awesome. If they ever make a smaller 39mm with a 46mm L2L I would definitely buy it as I am sized out of this one. Would love to see a battle of lume against the full lume Zelos Swordfish, the Signum Cuda and this one.
The lume is cool but I never understand full lume dials that also lume the hands and markers. They're actually easier to read when the markers and hands are unlumed so you get a "negative" effect.
I received my Hitman II Special Edition with full lume dial about 2 weeks ago. It’s amazing. Total lume monster. This is my third Wise and the quality for dollar is exceptional. I own several micro bands (Baltic, Traska, CW etc) and they all give my more expensive pieces a run for their money.
@@MrAumbradid you get the FKM rubber strap or opt for the bracelet. If bracelet, wondering your honest opinion if it's worth it. I'm most comfortable with rubber straps, but sometimes like to switch it up and don't want to regret not ordering the bracelet if you find it to not be a chinsy POS.
@@krazyfiend I got the bracelet and it is of decent quality. I wouldn’t compare it to an Omega or Rolex quality but worth it in my opinion. Overall the watch is great for the price.
I recently purchased the Hitman SE. It took 4 weeks to arrive and it immediately began stopping and losing time. I contacted Wise and was told to manually wind it which is impossible as the crown keeps screwing back down. Because the watch is automatic purchased a case that actually rotated hoping it would wind however the watch continued to stop. I was told by Wise to send it back and they would have their repair department determine if it was defective. Shipping from the US back to Thailand ran $65 and it's been in transit for over a week. Not the greatest experience so in the interim I ended up purchasing a Vaer. It was half the price and actually works.
Enjoyed your review of this striking watch! As a bargain oriented watch collector, I am so thankful I stumbled upon your channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks to you… I bought a Wise Hitman which arrived today in UK beautifully presented. Apart from the name, it is fantastic and yes, the full lume is just amazing. I mean really amazing.
Thank you for this video. I appear to be similar to you. I am also buying one similar to yours; not because you picked one, rather I filled out the Wise order form based on my personal preferences. I also adore lume and that is why I ordered one!
I’m a Lume junkie too! I’m up all night and sleep during the day so I like a watch I can see without pushing a button or flipping my wrist. I mainly wear a LumiNox and have never not been able to tell the time.
It’s nice to see a full lume dial that looks white as opposed to cream-ish/off-white. Wise seems to be doing great since the last few years. Thanks for sharing this one.
Always thought Wise’s Hitman Watches were underrated. I also only wear (on the regular) watches with dates. Thanks for the thorough review and lume test!
You are just nailing it with the review, everything in wise watches are well thought out, and the quality is very good in everything, if I would pick something to improve on this one is a “on the fly” adjustable clasp, which they have done for the other models, but who knows maybe they can make it for this one too? Wise if you read this, please 🙏.. thanks for a very nice review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Regarding the bezel action: I bought a Casio Duro because my KHS Shooter MK2 automatic was in revision. After I received my KHS back I have to say that I am a fan of a 60 click bezel with medium effort to turn on my KHS. The Casio Duro is a great watch but you have to force the 120 click bezel pretty hard with I do not like.
I'd compare it to the Signum Cuda. ..battle of the lumes. I think the Cuda, being titanium and colored with it's lume face is as bright if not brighter.
That is some crazy lume brotha!! So cool. I been wanting to get a WISE. Not sure which one first. The 24k dial, this two tone dial bezel blue green and gold. Or a full lume. I prolly get all three eventually if they keep make certain ones
I own the Adamascus stainless and meteorite. The quality is excellent and to be honest it really surprised me. I always recommend Wise to anyone asking about affordable watches.
The non-full lumed dial Hitman line is available with a Date option (NH35A). I'm expecting to receive my no-Date (NH38)Hitman tomorrow. I selected the crown -right, gradient Red dial with black bezel and yellow Seconds hand.
I am Thai but only discovered Wise recently. Got the Wise with the Thai numerals a few months ago. The lume on it is really nice. Next one I’m going to get is the full lume Adamascus.
Another great review Dave! I was looking at the Wise lineup again about a month ago. Primarily the Adamascus. That white and red is really nice. I will have to consider the Hitman series instead but I really don't need another dive watch but don't have any watch with red.
I really like it . Name combination is a little disturbing . I think no date is soo good on it that it's worth not having while enjoying this watch on wrist . Lume point is a definite draw for me . I mostly prefer a date as well .
I have a Citizen Nighthawk and the lume is surprisingly good. I have other citizen and they don’t compare. The nighthawk destroys my seiko’s. It’s still glowing at 6:30 am. I don’t have anything else that glows that long except for tritium. But that doesn’t count since it’s radioactive. Really incredible lume on that watch. There’s no luxury watch i know of that can compete with the watch you reviewed. The old Rolex when they had tritium but that doesn’t count.
Nixon also has some really good customization options these days. They seem to get an awful lot of hate in the watch community but they are quality and affordable
Great video, but it's really difficult to compare apples to apples. It'd be beaten by any electro lume, like a timex weekender with indiglo, or casio W86 with backlight. Or any watch with tritium in the first ~5 years of ownership. But yes, on this one metric, a full lume dial beats hands and pips.
Got a bunch of lume watches. Zelos included. Work a lot during nights and in badly lit places. Always come back to my 50 bucks white dial Timex indiglo. Lume is for UA-cam videos.
How does this compare to the Laco Navy Casablanca / Valencia that you reviewed a few years ago? I have the Valencia and it's insanely bright, so curious how these newer microbrand watches compare.
The product page says it has "light old radium", so what are they doing here? Radium paint treatments were outmoded decades ago for obvious reasons, and I think that that is an important moral question to raise, especially if these are going to rank as exceptional on your lume grading system. Apart from that, I can testify that Panerai has luminescence that stays strong for two hours, which as far as I know outperforms everything else, including Rolex.
Great review Dave! Although I believe lume is also about mass, the larger the surface area, the larger the fill, the brighter it will be. So to have this Hitman SE with large indices up next to a Zelos Spearfish with those skinny indices is hardly fair. However, they are very different watches anyway with the Spearfish being more dressy so lume wouldn't matter as much. When you compare to a Seiko though, that's a totally different story....
I respectfully disagree with you as my Wise hitman, full lume, dial completely obliterates my Pelagos, for that matter, it out performs in the LUME category any other of my pieces in my collection.
Question: Let say you turn off the light and go to sleep at 9pm. then you wake up around 3am.would you be able to see the lume to tell what time it is?
My Dufrane Deep Eddy. Started the lume at midnight, still readable at 6am. Crazy. But is that what's happening with the Wise? Or is the Dufrane just an anomaly?
But you are right. I daily drive all mine. Like never take off for couple weeks then rotate. I broke few glasses and the second hand fell off my hammy. Sucks but I will be more gentle with these. Anyways. I need a date also. Like gotta have a date
Nice, but instead of outline they should put solid hands and indexes on it for better visual. Otherwise nice, I wish for a field watch in 36mm, from 1 to 12 Arabic numerals and traintrack minute markings with this lume. Or simply a Flieger Type B dial/hands. Anyway why is the NH38 more harder to get? The NH35 has one more complication - that stupid date what I hate - and more and more microbrands thanksfully makes no-date watches. Seiko should put out more NH38, make it to the most produced movement in "that family".
Could you also review the Deep Blue Daynight Patriot? It has better value than this. 13 rainbow flat T100 tubes and 3 more on the hands. I had it specced with a bracelet and a rachet diver strap which comes to around $350 but starts at $280 with a strap.
Hey Dave, have you reviewed any Signum watches? I did a search and didn't see any on your channel, and I'm curious how the lume compares since these have similar full lume dials
I have not! But everyone keeps telling me I need to check out their lume. Shane @RelativeTime did a lume comparison between this and the Signum full lime dial, and this one came out on top
Wise R&D team answered in a livestream that the special edition (full-lume) is only available as a no-date watch since it doesn’t look really good because the date wheel doesn’t have lume. I guess it probably won’t look too bad if the date is at 6 o’clock. But the Hitman series have always had the date at the 3 o’clock. So guess a black dark spot at the right won’t look really good.
you should do a comparison of their BLUE vs GREEN lume dials

Gotta face this off against the signum cuda

The Signum Cuda ia a power station!🤣
