Very good review. I also own the Saramonic uwmic9 and even the first generation uwmic10. Saramonic has just released the uwmic9s and it seems to address a lot of flaws from the previous and I am aiming to replace my first gen with the new model. Keep up the good work.

Interesting! I use high power rechargeable batteries in my UWMIC9 and it lasts a full day. Easily. One of my camera operators recently commented on the extraordinary battery life. By the end of a 7 hour day we still had 3 bars on transmitter and receiver without turning them off at all throughout the day. Amittedly I have the older yellow accent version of the UWMIC9 but I'm sure that can't be the issue.

Certainly interesting! We were also using "commercial grade" rechargeables, and saw the same cutouts / battery life concerns on two different sets

Great Review! I've also been using UWMIC9 for day long shoots for about 3 years with the 2600 ma NiMH batteries (same batteries for 3 years) and I have been getting consistent 5 hours of use on the transmitters and 4 hours use on the receiver.

On every other reviews of Saramonic they actually never complained about battery life so or you have faulty system or there is something fishy on this review

Me too, I’ve been using UwMic9 for couple of years occasionally and I don’t share the problem with battery life. That said, I’ve been using these only with lithium AA batteries - like Energizer Ultimate Lithium at the moment (don’t know their capasity) - so that might make a difference. Anyway, I’ve used the setup only occasionally but believe I’ve got like 20-30 hours of use before changing to new lithium batteries. That said, I might just remember wrong, but I’d like to suggest there must be something wrong with this reviewers devices, if they really last only an hour. I’d get them checked.
Also, I’ve never had dropped signal with my Saramonics, so I’m curious how come this reviewer has this many examples of dropped signal.
Maybe his devices really are faulty.

Here too, I’m using the saramonic with charged batteries and have last about 4 live streaming shows with a 1.5 hour average. And never had any drop audio

Hi, something missing from nearly all wireless mic reviews is the licensing conditions and costs. This varies across the world but should be referenced.

I'm not aware of any licensing costs associated with either product. What exactly are you referring to?

Some UHF devices will use GMRS frequencies, which in the US require an FCC license. I actually have a license. When you register you get a call sign, and it’s good for 10 years. Cost $80 usd.

would you prefer Saramonic UwMic9 vs the UwMic9 s version?

I would prefer the Rode system over both given the reliability concerns expressed in this video with the Saramonic. I don't have direct experience with the S version of the UwMic9
