These Baby Musicologist brothers are cracking me up. He said, “we hear you brother!” Aw. These are sweet young gentlemen. I just love these kids!
I am grateful for finding them and getting to share their reactions I am blessed
They really are fantastic
You nailed it! They are my new favorites! 👍🏽❤️❤️
Totally agree. These kids are great.Glad to see young folks appreciating “our” music. I saw Neil Young in 1973 do this song and it’s like it was yesterday
@@grannib1956 Same!!
I am 51 year old white male. I LOVE YOU GUYS....keep you’re mind and hearts open. Peace and love
Ditto
I've been sick for a long time, I have been obsessed with healing, it's been 24/7 going at it, no friends, no love, no breaks for fun. I haven't felt light in a very long time. Thank you for bringing joy back to me, I've cried a lot and released a lot of trauma by going back to music through your eyes.. One of the comments in the many videos I've watched was, "I didn't know how much I needed this in my life!". Facts! I'm ready to meet my old self again :)
I hope you feel better soon!
Wishing you well🙏🙏
I kind of feel the same!! Much Love 💛✨
Wishing you love, health and light. So glad you found this positive community too. 💕
Life is full of transitions and phases, some easy, some hard, I'm always looking forward the next, like these guys. Good luck.
The world would be better if everyone was as open minded as these dudes
Rob Edwards Absolutely. Love these guys.
No kidding- I feel better just watching them enjoy music I have known all my life, from many genres & they have turned me on to songs I missed hearing, somehow.
amen
No doubt
So true boss so refreshing seeing the young cats discovering Neil young
Just one man, his guitar and a smooth voice. This is greatness.
and today with all their technic the music isnt half as good as it was at this time...
70th, there were bands like led zeppelin, pink floyd, black sabbath, stones, acdc, the who, the clash, deep purple, genesis, police and and and... and say me only 1 band from now which we will know in 50 years...
@@seelenwinter6662 Radiohead
You guys are awesome. Totally dig how two young dudes take the time to appreciate the classics. Means a lot to oldish people like me. Love your reactions
Dian Wilson Radiohead has been around since ‘85. They would fall into the same grouping . A group in the last 3-5 years is what he would be referring to .
A cool fact: The audience had never heard this song at the time he played it here. It was one of the first times he played it in public, well before the album got released. Love that you guys love this.
Plus he was high on Heroin.... there's that. Notice to nose "itch"
Teresa Roe - With NY it was more likely coke.
I didn’t know that. Thanks
@@teresaroe4173 nah Neil never did H - but he definitely "ingested" ample amounts of cocaine
Maybe don't just assume people are on skag…
(Thanks Jay for correcting the typo)
@@kato64 Uhhh...this performance was in London, England! Perhaps it was tea.
Neil Young, greatness !
I’m the right age. I just don’t know why. Everyone thinks Neal Young is so great. I don’t get it. Well these Twins made me rethink Phil Collins for a minute.
This was recorded when Neil was in his twenties. He is now in his seventies! Decades later he has become the old man.
I've been listening to him since I was in my early 20's and I am in my 70's. Not music I am tired of!
He was always the old man!
but still baDASS
Ross Watson Everyone gets a turn - should they live long enough.
Neil Old
I could listen Neil Young all day long! I love Harvest Moon🧡
Harvest Moon is one of my favorite Neal Young songs.
I really respect how these guys have such open minds, when I was their age I was not as open minded and I think I would have been a better person if I had been. You guys give me hope for the future!
These young guys are crossing bridges we struggle with, they are ambassadors. All the very best!
I adore these young men. So pure & serious yet having fun making a difference.
I saw y'all taking this seriously. That's what's up. Neil is one of the greats. His lyrics and talents are to be reckoned with. 🎸🎼
Too bad he's become a liberal annoying mouthpiece
@@prs149 Nobody cares he's a legend well deserved keep politics out if music
I agree but it is true that Neil is extremely outspoken regarding his political views. Has been forever. I wish all entertainers would just entertain but they don't do what I tell them to do. Not their mama. 🤪😅😘
Liberal and proud. Douche.
@@prs149 he didn't "become" political in anyway. you ever listen to Ohio or Southern Man? He been political.
“Heart of Gold” by Neil Young. 🔥

Yes!..From the same show!
Yep. And to help out: Heart of Gold (2009 Remaster) · Neil Young ua-cam.com/video/X3IA6pIVank/v-deo.html
Oh yes! That's one of my favourite songs!
@@penname5766 Also "Mr. Soul" live with Crazy Horse, and the original from the 60's w/Buffalo Springfield. Completely different, both great!
Jim Croce, 'Time in a bottle' these are some of the best folk singers in history
"It doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you". Doesn't get better than that.
This was way back when he was young, now he's technically an old man himself! My son and I loved listening to Neil, we played this song 4 years ago at my son's funeral.
My son and daughter share my love for this music. I can't imagine not having them in my life. I feel for you sir. I don't know you but I send my sincerest regards.
@@canuckereh5646 Well I'm no sir, I'm his mom, ha, but thank you for the heartfelt condolences. He was 31 when he passed but he'll always be my boy. He has 2 younger sisters and they miss him terribly as well.

A Canadian legend and icon.
We are forever grateful for Neil too.

Harvest Moon. All time fave!
Definitely a good rec!
YES!
Country Girl
Suite Judy Blue Eyes, Wooden Ships, Helplessly Hoping... so many great songs to chose from... I will upvote any CSNY request!
His ranch was out near La Honda, the town I grew up in before I moved to Michigan, way up on skyline. I went back there to that town for the first time since I was a kid last summer when I was living in a van driving around the states just playing guitar and ukulele. I got in touch with two childhood friends that I hadn't seen in 24 years since I was 10 still lived in the area, we linked up through facebook, one become a musician and the other a lumber jack, the lumber jack did the *burn line for the ranch and he called us to come and check it out because Neil had an old burn silo with a stage in it where he used to have epic jams, EPIC jams, and allegedly even recorded some of the tracks for Harvest Moon in it. So we ended up jamming in it, wow, you could still feel Neil's energy, it was totally wild.
Side note, apparently the song Cinnamon girl was about my musician friend's mom, at least that is that is what Neil always told her.
You are a legend crazy horse!
*For the east coast people a burn line is where you cut out some trees in a road wide line so if there is a forest fire you can both have access to the forest to fight it but you can also use the line to kill the fire.
EPIC!
This is awesome.
Cool story.
Can we know who the friend's mom was, pretty please? So cool!
Right on😎
Check out "Southern Man". Ole Neil was callin out racism way before it was stylish.
Yes too many wimps here only want his acoustic stuff
Heck yes. Love Neil Young for his music and his commitment to social justice.
luv dat one
Good call
The reply can be heard from Lynyrd Skynyrd in their song "Sweet Home Alabama" "I heard Mr. Young sing about him, I heard ole' Neil put him down. I hope Neil Young will remember, Southern man don't need him around anyhow!' To give context, Canada never had slavery. So to Neil, the moral outrage was fresh as he toured America. He also wrote "Alabama". "Alabama, you've got a weight on your shoulders, and the sun on your back. Your Cadillac, has got a wheel in the ditch, and a wheel on the track."
I immediately fell in love with Crosby, Stills and Nash when I was in high school in the late 60's/early 70's. Neil Young joined the band soon after that and they put out a double-album with acoustic and electric sets and songs called 4-Way Street (1971). I played that album front and back so much even my parents knew the words. Dad would still yell to turn down the bass tho....years later I saw CSN&Y in Portland on a reunion tour....had to be late 90's or early 00's. Neil Young playing all animated and hunched over a huge old pump organ playing some tunes was a sight and sound I'll never forget. Such a great concert. These guys and Neil Young were very outspoken in anti-war issues so they were "agitators and activists" to the power structure at the time.
Neil Young's voice and a Martin D45: two of the finest instruments put on Earth. So smooth.
Just starting watching you guys. I love that you're listening to new music that you never heard before. You're taking it seriously and opening up to new worlds and different people. I applaud you guys! We all need to accept and learn and be curious about people who are different, instead of judging and being rude to each other. You guys are honest, real, funny, and full of heart! ❤
Cinnamon Girl is a Neil Young rock jam you should check out.
After the Goldrush
Neil is best when it's just him and a piano or him and a guitar, although I do give props to Cinnamon girl
Exactly his electric stuff is way better....too many wimpy requesters here
@@MyrnaMinkoff-yy4qd yes the Album not the song or the Album Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
@@prs149 BULLSHIT....You must be a commie his electric stuff way way better..Cowgirl in the Sand or Down By the River as acoustically perfect and a rocker
They picked the best (live) version of this amazing song. Gets me every time. Proud to say that Neil and I hail from the same country. Living legend. Thanks for posting this guys. Cheers..
I’d never seen this performance before!
Neil Young makes me proud to be Canadian. He loves his home.
Hey guys, Just an FYI he is one forth of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. Legends
I never get why people highlight the CS&N thing. It was literally 3 songs in a career of 50 albums, and probably one of his more dud collaborations - as in, everyone just wrote their own songs. I think Neil is way better on his own or with his Crazy Horse. Although his tours with Devo where he plays along on their songs are pretty awesome
Neil Young did another song in that same location called "Heart of Gold" that's just as great as this one was.
And Words was way better...his electric stuff way better than wimpy acoustic
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN 🤦
One of his BEST SONGS EVER "HEY, HEY - MY MY" !!!! Simply the very best!!!
This song is more about men in general. Old men and young men essentially want the same thing, to be with a beautiful woman that they love and loves them back just as much. And they want it to last, even though time can and will rob us of these things, sadly. But such is life. We men are simple creatures when it comes to what motivates us.
Unless they are gay.
@@jasonlampa That why I said "men in general". Less than 4% of males in the US identify as homosexual. I'm refereing to the vast majority of heterosexual males.
@@miltonbates6425 yeah just playing, but honestly I think it's way more than 4% just that a lot of people are still in the closet. But I agree with you, people just want to be with someone they love and who loves them back the same.
It makes me smile that you sweet guys love this great song. I am 65 years old and just subscribed to your channel. Greetings from Germany
Wait wait wait wait… there’s TWO of you?! Lol. Anyway, I always love to see people’s faces on these reaction videos when Neil Young starts singing and you guys didn’t disappoint. He has such a clear, unique voice that mesmerized us back in the 70s, and now we all enjoy, so much, watching you discovering this amazing music, too. Watching through your eyes and reactions is like experiencing it anew, again. Thanks for sharing your journey, gentlemen! : ))
So happy you love Neil Young. He was my favorite when I was a teen in 1970. Listen to his song about the Kent State Murders of Peaceful Protestors- I was a senior in high school. It was devastating for all the young people of the USA. Also listen to Cowgirl In The Sand... and The Needle and The Damage Done.... well start with his amazing first album and see what you think. I used to fall asleep to that album every night. Seen Neil many times and he is still rocking! Peace & Love 🙏🏽
Talented Neil - timeless lyrics. Canadian fan since 1968. Glad you've turned on to him.
I love watching your reactions to songs! Neil Young sent out many messages in his songs and his mind was tuned into the many injustices of the times and sorry to say many still exist.
So glad I found your channel! Keep up the good work.....
So amazing to see black youth and youth in general getting into the oldies.
Interesting
Try "Down By The River", "Needle And The Damage Done", "Heart Of Gold", "Ohio", "Southern Man", and "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young. All great.
Hel Gar needle is my favorite
After the Goldrush.
Ohio is an amazing protest song!!
also "Tell my why", "My My, Hey Hey"
Harvest Moon
Y’all are just the best. Thank you for listening to all my “old” music. Pretty awesome huh?
One of the best lyrics in a song is in "Old Man." "Doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you..." Nice to see you two giving the classics a listen. Check out "The Needle and the Damage Done" from the same show.
Dudes, KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN A FREE WORLD is the banger.
He’s an under rated guitar player. Please give a lister to “Down by the River”. Studio version with Crazy Horse is tops.
True.. but Roy buchannon covering down by the river is hailed as one of the best live guitar performances in history. U should check it out.

One of my all time favourites. Love Neil Young.
His voice was such a delight it could take you to so many places.
The chord progressions he does here are incredible.
Love that Martin acoustic too. Love the sound of fresh strings.
@@gunhedd5375 that's not a martin
little james • I was pretty sure it was. Had to double check. It looks custom, but it’s definitely a Martin. At least that’s what the headstock says. Just sayin’... Cheers. 😎

He walks that bass and it gets to the soul every time.
Fellow Canadian and just an outright living legend...one of the greatest ever! Cheers and rock ya later.
Listen to his "Harvest Moon."
Yes!!!!!!!❤️
They won't get that either.
I commented the same thing. Such an epic song. Will always be my favorite neil young song.
A funny but cool thing about this song is that a broom is one of the instruments keeping the rhythm.
That’s an amazing tune too... love the video
Also check out Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane"--fantastic guitar on that song
Man... i love Neil Young... he a bird of a different feather. I always feel like his guitar and voice are just riiight on the verge of being flat... but if ya chill and let it , it sounds beautiful . May be off, but i dont like things i cant explain.. lol my fav. Is Cowgirl in the sand
Lovvvve cowgirl in the sand❤❤❤
One of the best albums ever produced was 4 Way Street. Cowgirl live on that album is to die for.
I agree, but it sounds so good being flat. Bob Dylan, on the other hand sounds crazy and I just don't get that sound. Thumbs down on Dylan!

At the end of the day, Neil Young rocks your soul. You won't forget and will want more.
I’m so proud of you both! At least you are giving our music a chance! This is why so many people need to put everything aside and we are stronger together! 💜
there’s a treasure trove of neil young songs to hear that will squeeze your soul ...in a good way. neil is the best songwriter that ever lived. the best story teller. will to love, deep forbidden lake, mr soul, winterlong, cortez the killer, change your mind (my favorite) there’s a 15 version somewhere. greendale is a whole album story

the cultural and musical history of this man is amazing!
thank you so so much!!! watching your videos makes me reminiscent of being young again sitting in friends rooms listening to music. transistor radios and setting around a cassette recorder hoping to hear it on the radio to try to record. lol.

Try "Needle And The Damage Done" by Neil Young
Makes me cry
My personal favorite
Good but need electric stuff too many wimpy reactors just play the same acoustic crap
Great song!
You have to do one for Neil Young "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" if you didn't already.
Yes 👍🏻
Good music is just good music!! It’s universal! The beats, melodies, solid notes, pitch perfect, bass, percussion and most of all SOUL!!! Don’t even need to understand the language. It’s a flow that everyone with soul can feel!!!
He was really young back then. I have attended one of his concerts. He has great songs and a great voice. That was a really good reaction from the both of you.🤗 You should check out Tom Petty.
Made me think about the passing of your grandfather.. I think he would have been proud of you both . Great song and I liked your reaction 🙂👍
Heart of Gold from this same concert is really good too.
No too wimpy WE NEED electric stuff by Neil
I think both are good.
Neil Young, how great and unique is that voice? He has many great songs. Heart of Gold and Southern Man are my favorite songs by Neil. He was also part of Crosby,Stills, Nash and Young. Then went on his own.
Absolutely best artist Neil Young. I was at one of his concerts. I cried when it ended. I cried. I wanted more more. I have every album he put out. Yes on a turntable.

Please react to Rockin in the Free World by him. You will love it. This is classic. Neil is a legend. Vast catalog of classics.
The quality of this recording, even after all these years is truly amazing. It shows Neil's true passion and talent and storytelling in his music
Gotta listen to the whole group too- Crosby Stills Nash and Young- “Southern Cross” a classic- also Hotel California by the Eagles!!! 👍🏻👍🏻 Bangin’-
Yesss definitely! Those were the artists from my childhood. Brings back memories listening with my parents.

Nooooo Hotel California 🤦🏻♀️
Neil Young alone, or with Crosby, Stills & Nash, he plays hard! Please react to: Cinnamon Girl (studio version) and Keep on Rocking in the Free World (live). And as always: Led Zeppelin Kashmir and When the Levee Breaks (studio verisions)!
Great idea but Live version of Cinnamon Girl way way better

you guys are sweet!! try 'tears in heaven'-by eric clapton- he wrote it for his son after the boy died falling out a 3 story window,,,I shit you not---It is BEAUTIFUL!!!
I think it was more than a 3 story building. wasn't it dozens and dozens of stories high in n.y.? I could be wrong. Regardless he did fall from a great distance and die and yes, the song was written bc his son died from the fall.
I believe anita's right...it was his 3 or 4 yr old son who fell out of a high rise 😢....that song was indeed beautiful and heartbreaking 💔

Native Canadian Neil Young just moved from his "ranch" nearby in Woodside, CA to Colorado. He dominated the music scene in the late '60's and '70's but is still going strong. Brilliant musician, composer and singer!
Being 60 years old it does my heart good to see the younger generation appreciating the classics there's a lot of music y'all boys hadn't even scratch the surface you need to listen to some Led Zeppelin Crosby Stills Nash & Young try Ohio by Crosby Stills Nash & Young are blood in the streets by The Doors
Almost every track the man has laid down is solid gold. Puts his heart and soul into each one. Check out Needle and the Damage Done, Cortez the Killer and Down By the River

You young men give me hope! I have over 35 nieces and nephews and only maybe 1 or 2 of the whole lot bother listening to and appreciating older music and different genres! Love your videos. You listen to songs even I hadn't heard in years. It's fun to reminisce along with your fresh ears. I find that older music has true talent behind it ie: excellent vocals and amazing instrumentation. You couldn't fake the funk in a studio back then. Keep the 'bangers' coming. Your genuine reactions are inspiring! Your love for music truly shines through.
