@@Brynden-Rivers you have obviously never seen a Springsteen concert. If you had you would realize what not only a great guitar player he is but also the passion, heart and soul he puts in to every 3-4 hour show. I've ever band you could possibly name in my 55 years on this planet and rarely have I seen any of equal caliber.
@@meandmyguitars bruce has how many people in his band? Ill tell you not less than 10 other musiciansIve seen them both and bruces rock nroll revival is one of the greatest acts for sure. Chris however is often by himself with just a guitar. Its much harder to captivate an audience without a supporting cast of 10-15 other musicians. What chris does is harder without a doubt. If you played an instrument youd know that. I play plenty songs by each artist. Being a musician what chris does is harder to duplicate than what bruce does. Bruces lyrics maybe resonate with you more he is one of the greatest songwriters in american history.
@@Brynden-Rivers Bruce has put out 3 acoustic albums. No band. Just him and a guitar. He also does a few songs in his live performance with just him and a guitar. Also If you ever have a chance to watch the episode of Storytellers with him. It's 1 hour of just him and an acoustic guitar or a piano. He holds the audience captivated the whole time. It was masterfull! Netflix is currently streaming his Broadway show. Again just him and a guitar for almost 2 hours. Not to take anything away from Cornell but I'd say that Bruce has done more performing with just him and a guitar the Chris has. Not that it really makes any difference anyway.

It's an honor for you to cover me hero. We miss you and we thank you for all the amazing nights you have giving all of your fans. There are no words to express the sadness. Thank you Chris. we are so so sorry what ever you went through.
One of the best vocalists, lyricists, etc. that we've ever been blessed with. He had such a good and sweet heart, beautiful looks and soul, etc. What a complete loss of such a wonderful talent.
such an amazing musician. so talented and real. he had an incredible voice, but obviously struggled with depression. I only discovered who he was after he died. one of my favorite singers. he stood out from the rest
It may sound cliché or too much, but not a day is passing by where I play at least a song from you Chris and I always wonder what if.. You'd still be here and your new songs would still reflect on the crazy world we live in. I guess there would be a lot to write about. May you rest in peace for ever Chris 🙏
It's so fucking sad I wasn't really into his music. But he had a great voice and he was a great person. It's something how we can hide the pain that we suffer with deep inside of a lot of us. RIP CHRIS NOW YOU CAN PLAY WITH KEITH MOON, JOHN LENNON, JOHN ENTWISTLE. NOW THAT'S A GREAT BAND RIGHT THERE.
@@tighe2424 I think Bruce was just being modest and paying homage to musicians he greatly admires. I LOVE the Band, but Atlantic City is a song about desperation and a guy trying to capture dreams beyond his reach. The Band's version with xylophone and accordion makes it more of an Acadian singalong than a song about a Jersey mobster wanting to escape to Vegas and the billions $$ he envisions... It's a brilliant cover, but it loses sight of the Nebraska desolation of the original. And Bruce performing it live, electric with the ESB is my favorite version...
Fun fact - "Well they blew up the Chicken Man in Philly last night." - Is a reference to the death of mobster Philip Testa, who was portrayed in the Irishman.
Yes! I didn't know if anyone else knew that! Blew up the new boss, Phil "the chickenman" Testa w/a nail bomb that also blew his home half apart! Nicky Scarfo wound up the skipper when the dust settled, & the Philly Mob is probably, just now, kind of recovering from the Scarfo era, the Stanfa/Merlino & Natale war, etc. Looks like Joe Ligambi has retired. Georgie Borghese seems to be the acting boss of Philly, w/Skinny Joey running things from down Tampa. They have a kind of Gigante/Salerno arrangement, power-wise.

cool
This is the second version I've heard that is better than Springsteen's original, the other being by The Band.
