Marisa clearly is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood at this point in her prime. You can see why from this camera shot. I don't think it's possible to be more beautiful. Over the years playing roles of people looking a dozen years younger. Not many Hollywood beauties maintain their looks like Marisa has. That's why , in my opinion, she is up there with the greatest beauties of all time.
She's one of those special women who makes you weak at the knees, just by walking in the room! And she still just as beautiful 25 years after my cousin Vinny
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am sure many people would object to this. Beauty is not about looks....I think nothing skin deep is beautiful. I have met women who were nothing to look at ...but they had a heart of gold. That's what makes you beautiful. And you don't have to look young either.
Been watching old Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh interviews on Letterman and now Marisa Tomei ... all adorable , intelligent and funny women being interviewed by Dave in his irreverent prime. Great stuff.
Marisa Tomei fully deserved her Oscar - no doubt. All the other actors were brilliant in “My Cousin Vinny”, especially Joe Pesci. A wonderful comedy of all time. Thanks for sharing video.
she was a senior in my high school (she went to murrow in brooklyn) when i was a freshman! ahhh, the tv generation. don't miss it one bit. love the internet much more!
It was considered a suprise when she won the Oscar, but all these years later it is one of my most memorable perfirmances, and one that makes me happiest. No one more deserving.
Sudden and unexpected wins at the Oscars are the literal best!! The fact she wasn't nominated for Bafta, GG and still managed to win..... For a performance that usually not awarded by the Oscars..... She totally nailed it, whether it was a comedic performance or not, she deserved that Oscar!
Dave has mastered the art of keeping things going when he interviews just about anyone... but here, even he has trouble regaining focus on more than one occasion. Its pretty obvious, he is smitten... and who wouldn't be? This is hilarious.
It's ironic, because at this point it obviously seems like a big plus, but when she won the Oscar, there were a bunch of people in the industry who basically said she didn't deserve it; she won against some heavy hitters and a lot of important Hollywood people didn't give her props. Rex Reed, the critic, even said that the Oscar announcer had read the wrong name. After that she became kind of obsessed with proving she did deserve it, and instead of just going along building her career in a normal way, she was trying to take on ambitious roles that weren't always the best choice for her, and so she had a few flops, which only made things worse. So the Oscar episode turned out to be something that derailed her career for several years, actually.
Yes, but after some years she got nominated for other two Oscar for two terrific performances. In Before the Devil Knows You're Dead she's wonderful. Also in Unhook the Stars. I agree with you for the beginning but after years she definitely proved it. :)
Drew Alexander She was up against some pretty dour downbeat type actresses like Vanessa Redgrave, Kane Plowright and Natasha Richardson. In contrast Marisa is beautifully upbeat, vivacious, gorgeous, affable and undeniably talented. The role of Mona Lisa Vito was made for her and she captivated hearts forever with her performance. Fuck her detractors.
Liam Neeson started the rumor that the wrong name was read. He was trying to justify how his mother in law Vanessa Redgrave could have *possibly* lost to this Brooklyn comedic role 🙄
She deserved that supporting actress Oscar that she won for "My Cousin Vinny". Wonderful performance. And Fred Gwynne was a hoot too. "What's a Yoot?" LOL
Her and Susan Hoffs are my 2 celebrity crushes I never got over since the late 80s...I shoulda married both, as they lasted. Watch Marissa as Edith from All in the Family...man, who would have thought Edith can be so appealing but she does it all in perfect character.
Marisa Tomei is Italian. She is from Brooklyn and had to relearn the dialect because her mother teaches high school English. Mrs. Tomei didn't want her children to say: "DEM, DESE & DOZERS."
I’m from Long Island, Italian descent too and an actor and I can almost guarantee she was told to lose her accent or she’d never play anything but “mob dolls”. She was really good on A Different World in the 80s playing one of the few white students at a historically black college. Anyway isn’t it funny that she had to re-learn the dialect in order to win the role of a lifetime
What about, " Dat"? As a New Yawker myself, this is sometimes enunciated as aforementioned, but also, " Zat", when elided quickly with Was- " Wasatt". Said staccato like, it sounds " " What's Dat". Now dis also works with whose, like " Whoseatt", or Whose Dat.
I love that she’s just so authentic and unpretentious.
She's smiling even before she's smiling, just glows from within, a truly gorgeous person
What a beautiful way to describe her.
In the early 1990s, I was smitten with her beauty. She aged gracefully. She has to be one of the most gorgeous women ever.
You feel like you just want to cuddle with Marisa. Her cuteness is overwhelming.
i wanna f*cker
Yeah..."cuddle".
Hmmm "cuddle"
Cuddle real good
" cuddle" , twice. Then I'm out.
I watched this whole thing with a smile on my face, she's so charming.
Marisa owns a magical beauty... She shines in an indescribable way...
She is one of my most favorite actresses ever! She deserved her Oscar!
What a genuinely beautiful person. ❤️
She will go on in motion picture history because of her amazing role in " My cousin Vinny"!!
Amazing actress!!!❤
I just love that little girl she still has in her, especially at 29 yrs old. She's so full of life.
And even now in her late 50s ❤
And she got it, well deserved, she was phenomenal :)

Agreed! And I loooove my brown eyed brunette beauties....
She’s the girl next door gal that never lived next door. ☹️
E
send her an engagement ring. she was hilarious in Vinny.
Julia-Louis Dreyfuss is another woman who has aged like a fine wine.
I met her after attending her Broadway play debut, she signed my playbill, and she is rather shy in person. but very sweet.
She came off as shy in this interview. Not a shocker.
Not to mention completely gorgeous!
Marissa laugh is a paradise...
One of the most beautiful actresses ever.
Incredibly beautiful!
She's truly lovely!
She's one of those special women who makes you weak at the knees, just by walking in the room!
And she still just as beautiful 25 years after my cousin Vinny
She is the most beautiful woman on the planet....
She is in her 50's now. Still looks 🔥
After my wife, yes. (my wife might read this)
Truer words have never been spoken, Space Cowboy.

Delectable. An incandescent beauty I could listen to all night.
I can't believe she's been single her whole life and no kids.
@oooodin I had to look him up, just out of curiosity. I can see that, he's a good looking dude.
Because she’s Smart LMAO
Yeah she doesn’t believe in marriage or kids.
@@RoadWarrior-lo9vt Great actor too. He's in a great slow burn horror movie called "The Invitation"
@T DoubleU I'm sure you'd like that to be true and whack off to the thought...but it's not true.
She's really delightful.
In her prime Marisa Tomei must have been one of the most beautiful woman in the world. Classic Italian-American beauty.
I agree strongly. To me, she was one of the two or three most beautiful women of the 20th Century.
She's still in her prime, if you ask me.
I'll date her in a second.
@@Cyb3riano I would, too. She's still beautiful.
as mia sara she is italoamerican and is beautiful
She's still beautiful

Great actress and a beautiful young woman inside and out

Class and elegance.

I swear this woman never ages. She gets more beautiful with time. I love her outfit! Wish I looked that good.
A wonderful combination of Beauty & Brains !!
she's so cute in this interview.
It was considered a suprise when she won the Oscar, but all these years later it is one of my most memorable perfirmances, and one that makes me happiest. No one more deserving.
My god...she is bloody adorable. I love her.
She makes me smile....
This is from before I was born and she looks almost identical to to what she looks like in civil war
Get older!
I can't decide if she looks hotter at the time of this video or right now.
how can you not be charmed be charmed by her?
she is such an amazing actress

An underrated movie! I loved untamed heart!!!

my God she was and still is stunning.
She is just awesome.
Bless her.
elegant and delightfully pretty
Amazing actress
What an incredible woman.
Adorable :)
It's kind of weird Marisa Tomei could never become a leading lady coz she has all the qualities of being a superstar actress
She was amazing in My Cousin Vinny! Just riveting, and a great foil for Joe Pesci. Gotta see that again!!!
Gotta love this woman.
What a sweetheart...I wish I new her....
She's also an expert in automotive knowledge and tire tracks.
and tune ups
She is soo gorgeous!
Happy 50s Birthday

She's so lovely and charming. I can talk to her all night.❤
Just realised how the way these interviews have changed over the years
She deserved that supporting actress Oscar that she won for "My Cousin Vinny". Wonderful performance. And Fred Gwynne was a hoot too. "What's a Yoot?" LOL
That was the year I was born but I love that woman!
I'm four years younger than you but I'm in love with her. if she had a daughter im after her lol
Its the typical girl that you think she is flirting but turns out it is her kind of humor
That happens me all the time, because I laugh alot. Its strange then if the guy makes a signal and your like err no I was just laughing.
Exactly

She melts your heart in Untamed Heart. The ending breaks it.
This clip is BEFORE Marisa Tomei appeared on SEINFELD with co-star Jason Alexander.

My mom and dad were HS English teachers too and were always grilling me about grammar and pronunciation 😆
I attended the same Brooklyn high school that Marisa did -- and we were ALL IMMENSELY PROUD of her.

Me and my cousin alway loved that dame... even in our yoots.
I like you tube very much because having every kind of entertment
She didn’t just steal “My Cousin Vinny”. She threw a book through the movie’s shop window, grabbed it, took it home and ....
That's.... stealing. But with a broken window for dramatic effect.
