I think it looks nice. Thank you for doing the water test, I was hoping you would. The only experience I have with locust is black locust. It doesn’t grow native here but I got some out of my grandma‘s yard long ago. It made excellent firewood. I wonder if the honey locust off cuts would be as good for firewood.
Probably would be good firewood but when the guy picked it up he didn't leave us any off cuts which is usually a blessing as it gets rid of it but when you have something new a piece or two to experiment with is nice.
Had a honey locust in my yard when I lived in PA. I would burn fallen branches in a steel barrel in the back yard. The wood burned like in was soaked in gasoline. The thorns were wicked.
VERY nice looking lumber.
Thanks! What impressed me was the lack of saw blade marks...I suspect it was the wood and not my 'expert' milling!
@@southernadirondackoutdoors I believe it's more a matter of blade type, blade tension, feed speed and lunar alignment.
good job pretty wood
Thank your
Nicely Done.
Thanks!
Nice job stacking the Ash.. It has a pleasant look to it.
Thanks, we try to stack it back the way it originally was (a boule I believe it's called) as allegedly it helps shed rain...and looks cool! 😁
I’ve had a honey locust thorn embedded in my arm for about 15 years.
Ouch! Hopefully it didn't cause an infection. Luckily this log didn't come with any thorns!
Very nice stuff! Love it!
Thanks, I hope to get more in the future!

Nice grain
Thank You! Or actually I guess the tree thanks you 😁
Waiting on my bed extention for my saw mill so ican cut 16 foot logs
@@wilmamcdermott3065 I was lucky...when I damaged a bed section a month or so ago the Wood-Mizer dealer actually had one in stock.
Nice grain. What did it smell like when you cut it?
Not much of a smell, but the water and pine-sol makes the sniffer not very effective! All I could smell was the pine-sol.
It looked tay ok
I was surprised, I was guessing it was going to be pretty plain.
Never done Honey Locust before, but I can say with confidence that I've not enjoyed doing Black Locust......
What was your issue with the black locust? It dulled my chainsaw quickly while clearing for the orchard.
@@southernadirondackoutdoors Seemed to dull blades quickly. Also, at least the stuff I cut had a lot of tension in the wood. Moved all over the place.
come on now this is the monster log put a 18f log 22inch that is a monster log
That is big! I was just trying to be humorous exaggerating the size of this one.😁
