I keep repeating to myself “ Blooming Groundworks is a permanent palette. I do not need to buy it right now. Even though it’s freaking gorgeous and I love those shades and it looks soooo smooth on the eyes, I do NOT need to buy it now. I can wait. I am strong. “ Right? Right. 😂
I am in the same exact position!! I’ll see whether I want anything during the Sephora sale. However, this video is essential to those of us who flounder a little bit with this palette!
I think the "issue" with this palette is that Danessa said it can be used for anything, so everyone tries to use it for *everything* (which requires quite a bit of skillor practice, imo). I only use it as an eye palette and I reach for it constantly.
I can absolutely feel the owning less makeup idea 😅 I’m right there with you Alicia & I’m proud to say I’ve bought nothing since the year ended & started 😆 I am however waiting for the Sephora sale to grab the new blooming palette & grab only my essential things like concealer & skin care ❤ kk back to the vidgeo 😍 kk back again… I lied a bit 😂 I did get a few small palettes; the UD moondust quads, the ND new mini & the mini 9 pan ABH mini sultry but das it ! Lovely looks Alicia ! Super pretty ! Those pomades are so blurring on the skin too 😍 both face & eyes ! I’m again leaning toward the blooming one for me with the pretty colors 😊 oh & those shades on cheeks & lips will also be stunning ! But I feel at some point I do want the defining neutrals (that black smoky eye was 🤩) but I’ve hesitated cause it’s not a daily use palette for me ❤
Lol I’m laughing at your I lied list. I haven’t bought any makeup since the Huda grunge and ND Need a Nude. I’m so getting this Danessa palette. I don’t get much off of the Sephora sale so I’ll have my daughter make a new Danessa account and snag me yet another promo code. 😉
@@TracyD2 🤣👏🏼😂😂😂 honesty is the best policy friend ! 😆🥰 I hope you absolutely love your palette !! ❤️ but compared to how much I used to buy I’ve been good ! 😆❤️
I have textured lids. This is wonderful on me. It also helps hold the sparkly, fancy stuff I also like to wear. The other thing I really, really love is there is no FALLOUT. It is a beautiful brow product for me as well. I like picking a shade and using it as a one and done eyeshadow too. I love seeing you enjoy this as much as I do. BYW Nikki LaRose used the palette for a “pop of colour” eye look on her Sunday GRWM. She used her brushes as well.
Good to know about textured lids. I do have to use some type of corrector or primer on the eyelid first due to discoloration. What kind of eye primer do you use?
@@jewelnabq01 I don’t use a primer often. I tend to use a the last bit of my foundation or concealer and a dusting of powder. I sometimes use a glitter glue for the really glittery stuff. The Fyranae is great.
Thank you. I was waiting for people to say this is good for textured lids. I’ll pull the trigger. I love mattes the most as well as long as they aren’t dusty
If you like pinks and mauves, definitely get Blooming Romance. I used it for the first time last night and felt it was less intimidating than the Defining Neutrals one. Great for spring.
Omg honey ! I thought you were in your late 20s!!You look amazing ! Also not sure if this palette does the same but blooming groundwork pans comes out individually to make it easier for the brush pickup ! Beautiful as always ! I enjoy your channel so much ❤
I love using both Groundwork palettes as a supplement to the rest of my makeup. With that being said, I did get Blooming Romance (BR) and I am enjoying trying using it in different ways. I am realizing it’s more versatile than I expected it to be, just like Defining Neutrals. The only two things I haven’t used BR for was eyebrows and contour, but it has worked for eyelid, cheeks, lips and eyeliner. The colors build up slowly and beautifully. So, I have loved trying different color combinations on my cheeks. Usually, I reach clown status rather fast, but with BR, I’ve had more room to play.
I've been holding out for the Sephora sale to get Blooming Romance and this is so good to hear! I've been using the Neutrals constantly since December for eyes, bronze, contour, and brows. BR looks like so much fun!
Thank you so much! I loved this! I've had the pallet for a while now & only used it a few times. I absolutely love it though. I needed help and you did that. I even bought the blooming romance and haven't touched it yet. I got it for 5 bucks! That's why. I'm new to eyes and don't know how to do much, but I practice everyday even though I don't go anywhere. I watch videos on UA-cam and learn so much that make up looks beautiful! When I compare from 2 years ago, on another level! Thanks again for all your help in your videos. I appreciate it! 😊❤
Ok. This video was much needed and appreciated. I will continue to practice. I guess I'm just not used to 'building' up pigment to see it. But I will build more, the next time I pull the palette out. The looks look good on you. Ok, definitely on the lip. You inspire me to practice more. 👍🏾
I am so glad you brought up the transition from palette to face because I had not thought about that in reasons why I held off on buying this palette. Mine included knowing it would only be for eyes and brows and maybe lip lining; the majority of the palette wouldn't work for my ghostly face. I just did a huge (for me) declutter and felt nothing but shame and guilt for falling into consumerism and wasting money and materials. In my process of downsizing I learned more about myself than I had originally thought. While I feel better about less clutter, I learned what I prefer in products and even packaging--I enjoy pretty things. 😅 I've given myself a goal to be more mindful in purchases and to find better outlets to avoid falling prey to fomo. This palette would not be fomo but would be more of a companion palette and I don't need more of those. I find that the process of applying makeup is relaxing and fun for me; reaching for different items and mixing/matching. I don't tend to grab one and done items. The blooming palette though, is captivating for me in regards to eyes cheeks and lips but would fall into the same category of usefulness. In reality, if I look at both palettes simply for the eyes, I could go either way and give myself a green light to buy. Formula is intriguing and enticing. Application process from palette to face is one I don't want to adjust my tools for so for that reason,I don't want either for my face in particular.
The fusion worker has been such a great addition to my brush collection. 😊 Also, I'm more drawn to Blooming Romance, but thanks you for diving back into this palette and sharing what works better for pick up and application
Beautiful looks, as always. I like this formula better than the Natasha cream to powder. Thanks for the demo. I didn't realize you could use this on the lips.
I really like Danessa Myricks and her brand. I don’t have Defining Neutrals, however, I did buy Blooming Romance. Gosh, it’s so pretty! I’m so glad I got it & your video gives me more confidence when using it!! Thanks, Alicia 😊❤
I hope the Danessa Myricks cosmetic line does not just become another viral influenced product after another. The ingredients and products are all source and made in China /PRC. I would like to see how this product holds up in 1-2 years .. I expect it will breakdown, turn moldy if not stored properly. There is something not quite right about it and I hope no one gets a bad eye reaction due to the colorants or ingredients used to make the product. I used to work in the cosmetic industry and I just don't see any one asking questions about the safety or efficacy of these cosmetic products.. many of which probably have PTFEs etc.
I think the Kryolan Blue Master Art 8934 would be a good brush for the pomade on the cheeks. It's a nice small stippler for creamy stuff. I do hope you get the other palette, I'd like to see what you do with that (and maybe this too).
Love the looks and the smokey eye Alicia! When I first got this palette, I was not impressed, but I find myself reachig for it and appreciateing it much more! Now I loveee! CAn't wait for the Sephra sale to get the latest Groundwork pink palette! I hope you consider purchaing the the palette, I will be watching!
Thank you for doing this video so fast!!! Unfortunately the palette does fade on my skin 😢… I can do layers of pomade and set everything with the powder… and literally an hour later it’s gone! I have very pale skin too and my skin texture is normal and smooth so… I don’t know 🤷♀️ I also find the powder to apply very patchy on the face but it’s nice for the eyes. Supposedly Danessa is going to have reflls/singles available for purchase in the future … so someone might be able to purchase just the black pomade instead of the entire palette 👍
I didnt buy this one as I have so much defining products and neutral eyeshadow. But Blooming romance is happening absolutely no chill its in my cart ready for purchase on the first day of the sale. But thank you for this cuz I want all the techniques to use these palettes as much as possible
but trying to not buy more makeup-game plan is to rather utilize the ND GLAM and I NEED A NUDE-and my INGLOT DURALINE for turning any shadow into liner which will work better for my light complexion anywho!
Yeah, she’s been on a journey. Which is great for her and sad for those of us who love all the things she used to do. There’s a bunch of videos that explain it in as much detail as she does for everything else. Personally, I’m pro-skincare and SPF.
@@c.j.minster4292 ooh I see! I just got scared because she said she’s not wearing as much makeup as she used to. I mean it’s very different from not using skin care and or spf

That is true! I guess because it’s so much product, that people feel the need to use for as many tasks as possible.
Right!
Exactly. I too just use it for eyes mostly. It took a while to get accustomed to it, but now I use it constantly.
@donnamoore9898 it took me some time, too! It's not like a regular cream shadow, but it's not too tricky

I could see why it would fade. Because that’s the trade-off, I suppose. Ease of blend and skin like finishes don’t that great staying power 😮💨

There is a smaller sheer buffer in the sky series?
That one is dyed goat hair, and won’t be compatible with the velvet pomade. As it can only be used with powders.
