Being a new parent comes with all sorts of cleaning challenges. One that we've found particularly challenging has been cleaning a baby car seat, specifically, our UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat. We've had all sorts of spills and explosions over the past 6 months, so we decided it was time to make a video dealing with how to clean a baby car seat. Whether you have the Mesa or any other brand of car seat, this will give you a really good rundown of the steps and techniques for cleaning, and you can simply double check your user manual to ensure you are doing it the right way for your particular brand and model.

Not gonna lie...at 4:25 in the video, I was like, 'Hey! Move the banner!' because it blocked Riley for a few seconds. Peek a boo! :D And same...my baby is 21 and a senior in college. This channel just helped me totally transform my house, and those microfiber cloths are no joke (really worth every penny). It's not hard supporting small entrepreneurs when they feed your baby fix like this. Though, I might freak my husband out if he catches me watching videos on how to clean baby stuffs!

Thank you for doing your research and educating people to clean their seat according to manufacturer instructions . It’s so important not to compromise the integrity of your car seat since it’s purpose is to protect your child in a car accident.

Thank you thank you thank you for telling people to check the manual for their particular seats . There are so many videos out there spouting unsafe practices when it comes to cleaning safety equipment like the car seat.
I completely agree. I have 4 kids and never thought to look at the manual for cleaning tips. I’ve definitely ruined other car seats fabric by not washing correctly

I'm glad you stressed checking the manual. I had a Graco seat and they seriously said hand wash only! It was ridiculous. Now my shopping requirements after checking weight and height limits include washing instructions lol. 😆

My girls are out of baby car seats but I remember cleaning and stripping them well
Younger two 9yrs & 6yrs still have booster seats (uk law) and I do the same wash them regularly

I was really hoping the harness was somehow removable. I am curious as to why you didn’t remove/wash the canopy? This is my second or third time washing it, but first time removing the base material.

This is way of the subject, I follow all your cleaning tips, thank you. Do you have any nice smelly ideas for like a nice smelling dresser drawer or linen closet? I live in an old house and my towels don't smell good and same with dressers that are old
I'm so happy you are doing baby videos, I discovered your channel in my nesting phase but when I found out you were having a baby too, I wished you would have been ahead of me so I could watch baby cleaning tips. Example how do you remove explosions on onesies or what to do when baby eats pasta and even tho she has a bib it's all over the sleeves and if that's not bad when you take her out of the high chair haaaa it's all over her pants too!!!!

Be sure to be extra gentle to all the belts.
I dont know how it is in other parts of the world, but in europe it is important that if there are warning signs on the carseat, (even the ones on the fabric) they must be readable, or the carseat is not allowed to be used(legal reasons) so make sure they are intact. If not, Contact the company which makes the carseat.

What about removing the canopy? I have the exact same car seat. It looks like it is easily removed... if you can figure out how.

Haha. I can tell your baby is still little. Once the snacks and drinks start getting all over it, take out the straps, and hose that thing down outside! So much easier and faster.
That was my first thought. Then the second was finding the time. I turn it upside down to shake out all the crumbs and spot clean when needed.

Gurrrrl, just WAIT until you have a toddler in a seat with cup holders. There is NOTHING nastier than a toddler’s cup holder.

Patty Adams water only if possible. If not a very mild detergent with water. You don’t want to wash off the fireproof chemicals that are on the straps. Never machine wash the straps.
My question is - how do you get sunscreen stains off pram seat material?
I would like to know ,how to wash and care cloth diapers

Can you machine wash uppababy cruz?
So you can’t take the straps off?
Disappointed that I didn’t see the canopy cleaning included in the video as those tend to get dirty also.
