I suggest you don't do a hair transplant before turning 30 so you during your twenties you can understand the progression rate of your hair loss. I have waited until the age of 34 and now I am doing my first transplant and I am doing it a conservative one (preserving as much donor area as possible) even if it means I won't have a perfect 18-year old hairline.
My issue with many "hair specialists" these days is that they don't have the medical credentials to support the notion that they are experts in their fields. Many have no business administering what is a serious cosmetic procedure. They are no more trained to a hair transplant than your local hairdresser or uber driver.
No, because I was just a NW3-4 when I got my 1st one. Ideal scenario for my 1st transplant would have been either: 1. 2500-3000 grafts FUE with more conservative hairline instead of 3500 FUE I actually got...or...2. waiting for more years until I reach NW 5+ stage and get a big strip. But if you don´t want to wait with your hair transplant for 5-10 more years as a 20 year old guy, then small FUE with conservative hairline is almost always the answer. You can always do a strip later after you got your first FUE

Matt thanks for your video. I am thinking of getting another transplant at HLC in Ankara....for the same reason you did....the doctor does the extractions. I found your video very informative about the donor supply...this is a concern for me too. Thank you!
Kind of. But depends on your expectations and where you are at with your hair loss on the balding scale. With strip surgery you can always get some more doubles and triples even after previous FUE
Very helpful video thank you, my question is what is the total amount of hairs have been transplanted for you so far? and why do you think the two operations did not provided you with the requested density?
The density they provided is good but I need more coverage for the rest of my scalp if you look closely. I think it was somewhere between 7500 and 8000 hairs for the frontal hairline, temples, central region and small portion of my mid-scalp. Basically first half of my scalp is transplanted now (almost).
Matt, what I think you need is to go for FUT, to achieve higher survival rate. Your hair will probably serve well till the age of 40-45, and then you can simply go for the buzz cut. We know that transplanted hair lasts forever, and even if it eventually will thin out, it still will be covering a large portion of your scalp. Unfortunately, you won't be able to grow long hair, but it will look more than decent on you. Hope I explained my point well enough, good luck with the procedure!
I will be uploading a video soon from my FUT consultation. Stay tuned, and thanks for the comment! No interested in a 3rd HT for now, just informing myself and letting you know how things look along the way

i dont get why your planing to add more to the mid scalp if youv already had a 2nd transplant and you havnt seen the full results yet and why didnt you add 1000 grafts mixed with beard grafts for the mid scalp 2nd op? also wouldnt it be better to try and get full coverage in 2 hairtransplants rather then 3 as the more operations you have the more trauma you cause to existing hair follicles?

Interesting video Matt, HLC was also on my shortlist but decided to go with another surgeon. HLC prices are in the higher end, but the results they can show are amazing. Are you planning on having a 3rd hair transplant soon since you went all that way just for a consultation? Thanks!
I am just informing myself about the options I have. Next week I´m gonna post a vid about my FUT consultation with another doc. to show you what´s possible with FUE vs FUT after you have already done one or two FUE´s like me
for me it increased my strenght. Had problems with 80kg bench. I could do 6 reps and that was it. Now doing solid 10 reps with 80kg, 6 reps with 90kg and i can even lift 100kg 3 times.
You need Testosterone if you want to lift heavier, build more muscle and build it faster. That´s why many guys are taking T injections. There was never a guy in a whole bodybuilding history injecting DHT unless he had some CHRONICAL DHT defficiency. You don´t need DHT
@Air T Would you rather have a better result from FUT, ie a more significant graft yield that can result in better density, and more coverage, or with FUE a significant less graft yield and the possibility of grafts not surviving the extraction damage from the punch. FUT leaves a linear scar that can be camouflaged using SMP and leaving the hair grow a little longer at the back. FUE produces thousands of tiny scars at the back and sides of the head which are exposed if the hair is too short FUT done properly can be undetectable and leaves room for more procedures to be performed if necessary.
i don't have a ex tractable beard because it's too patchy already, and judging by my father i will have a much bigger bald area, like the deep crown area all the way to the back of crown and the top sides will be gone as well, what will i do?
Yeah, it has been planned for this week but I decided to split the video in 2 session because otherwise it would have been too overwhelming. Thanks for waiting. It should be out very soon!
Matt, also check out Dr. Kaan Pekiner. He was a former staff member at HLC and one of the best doctors and has now started his own clinic. I can definitely recommend him!:)
4500 grafts later there is still so much bald area in the mid-scalp. Why is that? 4500 seems like a harvest large enough to cover hairline and mid-scalp without any native hair at all. Pardon me if my question is ignorant, and I understand that this is a 3-year old video too.
@@alecgorton9953 Thank you. I had 2 surgery, my first one was fut and the graft survival was good but my second was fue and i could see graft survival was much lower than my fut. Is it true that sometimes after a while.... beard hairs that were implanted into the scalp can "turn into" normal head hairs? Like the texture and thickness starts to blend in on a cellular level because it recognizes where it is located. I've heard there here and there online for a while.
Maybe some adjustments happen to the beard hair after being implanted on the scalp but I think it remains coarse for the whole time after the implantation and may start also curling more after a while...So I think to an extent, it may adapt but not 100%
Do not do the FUT my bro if it start to thin too much you would never forgive your self fir adding the scar. I have done one FUT and the scar is horrible I wish I can buzz my head but I can’t. Don’t do it.
My hair specalists told me I can only have 2,000 grafts transplanted in one day safely and properly and that no professional would say they can transplant hair onto my mid-scalp where there is already hairs there. Also an update on my hair situation for those who read my last update comment. It's now been 6.5 Months since my 1800 FUE Hairline Transplant, 4 months being back on ReGaine and 7 months being back on Finasteride 2.5mg every Mon, Weds and Friday. My hair from Month 4-5 showed a huge difference in growth regarding all my hair, month 5-6 showed less growth than that previous month for my thinning hair. Now month 6.5 I'm starting to see a huge change again, its looking good in my opinion. However, like Matt, I'm having that issue where your transplant looks too good, and your thinning normal hairs look not as good. I always have my hair NOT styled and down so my plan is to try and get the hair from the top of my scalp to reach to my transplant and have the transplant only covering my hairline to look normal, with using Hair Fibres on my thinning hair to try and make the two blend together in thickness.
Divide I had 4200 FUT FUE combo in one go and now have a great head of hair could not be happier! Dr Path in Bangkok is an absolute artist for hair restoration
I read that you can lower your hairline as much as one likes ...but your website states you can't lower your hairline lower than your original hairline....iam confused which one is it?????
Theoretically you can do anything with your hairline but it´s not suggested to lower it further than where it once originally used to be positioned. Depends on many circumstances, age, further hair loss progression, your donor reserves etc. but generally it is not the purpose of a hair transplant to go beyond what had been naturally "given to you"

Chest grafts are obviously more softer and could help create feather like appearance when implanted on the temples even while beard grafts are more robust and shouldnt be implanted on the visible spots like temples or hairline. Beard grafts have longer haor growth cycle like up to 1 year while chest hair seems to have shorter cycle around 3-6 months or so.

Front is most important, fill out front and top with all reserves, then move body hair to refill donor area (arms/legs/chest/pits, etc?
Hi Matt thanks for your video, Do you recommend a hair transplantation at HLC?
Damnnnnn @4:09 It takes so much courage to share this with the world.
I suggest you don't do a hair transplant before turning 30 so you during your twenties you can understand the progression rate of your hair loss.
I have waited until the age of 34 and now I am doing my first transplant and I am doing it a conservative one (preserving as much donor area as possible) even if it means I won't have a perfect 18-year old hairline.
same here
Yeah I did my first FUE 33yo just before the pandemic and this summer at 36yo did my 2nd op. After 6640 grafts taken I am already overharvested.
My issue with many "hair specialists" these days is that they don't have the medical credentials to support the notion that they are experts in their fields. Many have no business administering what is a serious cosmetic procedure. They are no more trained to a hair transplant than your local hairdresser or uber driver.
Matt, considering what you know now.
Would you do a FUT for your first transplant if you could bring back the time?
No, because I was just a NW3-4 when I got my 1st one. Ideal scenario for my 1st transplant would have been either: 1. 2500-3000 grafts FUE with more conservative hairline instead of 3500 FUE I actually got...or...2. waiting for more years until I reach NW 5+ stage and get a big strip. But if you don´t want to wait with your hair transplant for 5-10 more years as a 20 year old guy, then small FUE with conservative hairline is almost always the answer. You can always do a strip later after you got your first FUE
@@letsgethair How would you predict what Norwood you might or "might Not" become? The Finasteride may halt the progression. It works in mysterious ways.
How about taking grafts from armpit or pubic hair? I think almost all men have lots of hair down there
It would be sad to see all that money go if at the end after a few years or in the future your hair just starts to fall off again
lets hope not 🤞
Ezequiel Coronel i made my first back in 2011. All hairs which were planted still alive.
@Mite Janev exactly, for thay reason is the medication
Thank you very much for sharing your experience in detail. And I heard that the transplanted hairs that come from beards (or other body parts) are thicker, but tend to become like an actual hair after some time.
thanks! Yes they also grow longer and may start curling more that´s why they need to be properly "mixed" with the scalp hair so it´s not too obvious. But yeah..
Is it also true 3/4 of the 10 hairs of body hair from beard, legs and chest will grow out. The others will mostly not grow out?
@@Sanntttt Leg and arm hairs don't keep growing.
@@Asiansxsymbol so for transplant only upper body en beard are possible. Arm en legs can easily fallout? And what about the 3/4 hairs out of 10 by example beard. Is that true?
this is a very bad clinc my brother did a surgery in order to increase the density of the hairs (more than 3500 grafts were used) the results after one year are so bad and the area before surgery is better than after surgery the transplant area becoming more thinner(damage the orginal hair).
when my borther return after one year the doctor says you didn’t tell me the results become thinner during steps of month(the step has been send evry month by month) Oky what is solutions now, answere there is no solution the doctor and assistant didn’t have solution.
the doctor says take medication (PrP,Mezzo therapy )to patient so what is the beneficial of doing the surgery if person still using not only additional medication but with (prp, mezo etc..). to stabilized bad resuits.
Hello Ahmed which Experince Do you habe IT? I want to make HT un HLC. Do you recommend? Thx
Just get a hair patch at change it every month, it's cheaper, no surgery required and it requires almost no maintenance other than that one day every month. If I go bald then that's what I'd do
Your fooling yourself then
Is it not possible for body hair i.e arm and leg hair to be used for hair transplants?
Oh shit! That’s where I did my hair transplant! They definitely didn’t treat me the same way as they treated you lol those UA-cam subs count. Now on my 83 day and haven’t had much of a shock loss. The directions and angles of my transplanted hair seems to be off and not on the same direction of my natural hair. Dr Ahmed did my surgery. The only reason I did it there although it’s very pricy is that I seen their results and they’re amazing so maybe it’s too early to tell so let’s just wait and hope. Good luck for you Matt.

I recently underwent 2nd hair transplant. My doctor strictly recommended me finesteride to maintain the thickness of natural as well as transplanted hair. I started with 0.5 mg daily after fourth day i felt constant mild pain in my left testicle. What should i do ?
That what scary , if ur not stablize u run out of hairs and now HT will help u cuz u might end ur donor zone.
After that you would have to shave and expsoe all ur scars. Pretty much nightmare
Why not use minoxidil and apply needling?
What's to stop the newly planted hair follicles from being attacked by DHT and falling out again?
Nothing is to stop but the lack of sensitivity to dht of the transplanted hairs keeps them alive.
I have had four hair transplant and my donor area is slightly over harvested. Looking at your donor area I would advise you don’t have any more hair transplants. I have used beard hair in two of my hair transplants and it worked great. Also two of my hair transplants were strip surgeries, you don’t want the complications that can occur with FUT scaring
thanks for sharing man! I still can have FUE but only from the upper portion of my donor. The mid-zone and lower part of it are already depleted enough.
MATTDOMINANCE I thought the same and now it looks really thin, I would mainly go for beard hair to thinking the areas you have already had surgery, I’ve had smp all over which has help create the illusion of thicker hair. Fut 1st would have been better before fue
Have you had smp in your fut scars I had one and want some advice please
Matt thanks for your video. I am thinking of getting another transplant at HLC in Ankara....for the same reason you did....the doctor does the extractions. I found your video very informative about the donor supply...this is a concern for me too. Thank you!
If I only have single grafts from previous transplant and no doubles, am I a bad candidate?

The grafts they take from your donor area cannot be grown back
Hey matt ive a question is it necessary to take fin after HT and what are the risks of Implanted hairs falling out
Yes, it is quite necessary Asif. Implanted hair can start looking thinner after some years as well, that´s why Finasteride is the way to go
Hi . Thanks for all the videos. In previous videos you said that you weren't on any medical therapy and sighted the negative side effects of such medicine. Now you say you are on finasteride. What made you change your mind?
i dont get why your planing to add more to the mid scalp if youv already had a 2nd transplant and you havnt seen the full results yet and why didnt you add 1000 grafts mixed with beard grafts for the mid scalp 2nd op? also wouldnt it be better to try and get full coverage in 2 hairtransplants rather then 3 as the more operations you have the more trauma you cause to existing hair follicles?
I was obviously just informing myself, not rushing into another transplant any time soon :)
Why didnt you complete these surgeries with your previous doctor Dr.Balwi ??? Isn’t he good enough???

I am just informing myself about the options I have. Next week I´m gonna post a vid about my FUT consultation with another doc. to show you what´s possible with FUE vs FUT after you have already done one or two FUE´s like me
May i know average cost per 1 graft?
Do u use oral finasteride? And do you think that finasteride affects muscle grow or performance in the gym?
for me it increased my strenght.
They do African American hair too?
Got a hairy back, you have a new donor area
HLC is very expensive. Can you recommend a good but affordable clinic?
HLC is a garbage clinic. Avoid is the best you can do. Bicer is a decent option in Turkey.
Should have gone to Hasson and Wong and got a strip of the bat and you would have a fuller head of hair and a normal looking donor
The artistry they perform is world class. Expensive but worth every cent for the results achieved.
income inequality. check this out.
Would have been a good choice for sure!
FUE produces thousands of tiny scars at the back and sides of the head which are exposed if the hair is too short
FUT done properly can be undetectable and leaves room for more procedures to be performed if necessary.
Mark Andrew *or Hattinghair in Zvicerland Wich are better then Hasson and wong*

Can you transplant shoulder hair or from other parts of the body?
Yes. There have been body hair transplants on to the scalp.
Why are you not taking Oral Finasteride? Obviously the topical finasteride isnt helping

Why are you using beard graft and not like hair from legs or upperbody?
proberend objectief told him many times on comments to go for an FUT
4500 grafts later there is still so much bald area in the mid-scalp. Why is that? 4500 seems like a harvest large enough to cover hairline and mid-scalp without any native hair at all. Pardon me if my question is ignorant, and I understand that this is a 3-year old video too.

Matt don’t do FUT. Your donor is not dense enough to cover the scars.
Thanks for the comment but I don't plan on doing anything for now. Only inform myself about what can/can't be achieved with both FUE and FUT in my case
Thanks for your insight! I am leaving the doors open for now. Leaning towards FUE so far
