- Another Kingdom Hearts edit i made for "fun"
Before the KHIII/2.8 (etc) official soundtrack was announced I always imagined that the version of Wave of Darkness on it would have a seamless transition from part I to II, something like the soundtrack version of Darkness of the Unknown... The soundtrack is out now, and we know this is not the case. Since there was no answer from Square for my desire to be realized, I tried to take matters into my own hands and do something like how I imagined it, this definitely proved to be more difficult than i anticipated, mostly because of the radical differences in the style of each arrangement, and overall I'm not exactly satisfied with how this turned out, I find the transition from Shimomura to Schwartz pretty jarring, but I put a lot of time into it so I though I should share it nonetheless. Hopefully you can enjoy a little.
Music composed by Yoko Shimomura
Part I arranged by Yoko Shomomura
Part II arranged by Sebastian Schwartz
Sometimes its hard to think that a game about disney characters and anime has this type of music
@Memes Within Memes Awaits You oh shit ur right lol
ROAR OF DEDEDE
Who says kiddy cartoons can't be epic
King Mickey: Did someone say the Door to Darkness?
Says the guy who has a pfp of a cute kid friendly creature but is actually stronger than goku
Me and Everybody(including Nomura): THIS MUSIC BANGS!!!!
Square: DEMON TOWER IS THE BEST IDEA WE EVER MADE!!!!! LETS PUT EVERWHERE IN KH3!!!!
ME: Did we.. made a mistake?
Hey, it’s not the first time we’ve had to fight the same boss one too many times in a game. I mean in Chain of Memories we had to fight Replica Riku about six times total.
@@joegreen3802 its not the awfull.boss, I mean the music is amazing!
And sadly it only happens when you encounter Demon Tower
Demon tower can be a fun boss when it's more aggressive because that also means it leaves itself open for more hits and it keeps a great flow.
Making it defensive to much is the problem that i think only exists outside of critical mode
@@lShadow426l the boss itself is good enough but is just a hord of shadows(THE MOST BASIC ENEMY OF THE GAME! AND IT IS JUST A BUNCH OF THEM MESCLED HORRIFYING TOGETHER) and is reused many times, which makes the music pops and ALL OF US KNOWS HOW IT POPS! And Square/Disney thiught... hmmmm... they love this song, why not spam this boss into these.two games and maybe for EVERY NEW GAME AFTER???
We: we made a mistake... BUT THE SING WILL THERE!!!! HORRAY(?)!
@@joegreen3802 i don't mind Riku replica as its a developing narrative. Whereas tornado of heartless loses impact after the 2nd time.
Ahhh yes, the Barbershop theme! Love it!
what!!!!!!
@@matiasgomez8651 Demon tower because it gave Riku a haircut
@@H6Heroes Thats a weird name for a barber shop
@rovad55 only edgy teens go there I suppose XD but it would be a pretty cool name for a tattoo or something similar store XD
@@H6HeroesBut this is the theme for the Demon Tide…
The theme of literal _death and despair_ incoming.
...vanitas is proud of yoko
This is one of the rare cases where I didn't mind a recycled boss being over-spammed.
Demon Tide was a relentless bastard in 0.2 and KH3 made it even scarier.
The scene where it starts sucking up all the Heartless and becomes a massive twister was terrifying.
0:00 to 2:50: Master Giant, Master Beast, Master Edges, and Master Shadow
2:50 onwards: Master Fortress
this song is one of my top 5 in the series. it has the mix of hype/pressure of an intense situation. it becomes even more dark when u realize the wave of darkness is just a wave of bodies of people without their hearts.
reminder sora was one of the wave of darkness heartless but was saved by kairi. no sora bever made it to the wave, but he would ve in there if not saved.
also make its so much better that sora being so close to become part of the wave, was also the only one to defeat it too
No one is mentioning much about when it plays. It plays against the heartless tornado in the world of darkness when you play as Riku. This also plays in the cutscene after Aqua talks about what happened and how she was abandoned. After the Replica shows up and Riku is given back his keyblade, this theme plays. I love that moment
I figured it was just the Demon Tide's theme
That freakin piano man! Those violins! So EPIC!
I wish Shimomura composed more songs with drums like in Part 1 here (and in the latter half of Part 2). It adds a special *oomf* not present in most of her music.
the percussion gives it a heavier, more “final fantasy” vibe and im all for it
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Takeharu Ishimoto's Influence was the explanation for the percussion.
@@SkippytWalrus
Nah if it were Ishimoto we'd have 30 second drones throughout the track
Tell me some final fantasy tracks similar to that of video , I wanna hear them bangers
Love this!
I can picture the band playing behind sora and Kairi while it’s a peaceful moment with the two and they just look behind them confused
I for one, feel like you did pretty well with integrating the two soundtracks
This plays when i face the demon tide inside my heart
Aqua now!
wow finally this video has commentary
Damn sora thick in that picture
based
It's the pants.
Sounds great. That's all I'm going to say.
It does. Will be the theme of 2022
@@Kennedys_Korner ngl it absolutely is so far.
Clean edit.
First half of part one reminds me of Pokémon for some reason.
Imagine this boss showing up in other games like Pokemon or Digimon
Organization XIII Member wants to battle!
reminds me of the Hoenn battle theme for some reason
@@tastyanthoneyHumming to the background beat, I can definitely hear it. They're practically the same!
This sounds like a mix between Kingdom Hearts and a Final Fantasy 7.
Funny how i came here from “final fantasy 9 battle theme”
Interesting, I've much more often heard it compared to Final Fantasy XV; something like Veiled in Black which has very similar instrumentation and stylistic choices, but I guess I could see some similarities with this and something like Those Who Fight Further or Birth of a God
...How?
Incredible edit!
The moment teh tornado showed up🫣
...wait it carrying a- im kidding lol
Awesome remix to this song alright!
Best battle theme in kh3
Over 100k views, this is epic
Everytime i hear this song it feels like i am really fight for my life lol
Nomura : Alright team where are you on the heartless boss design ?
Team : Well we have something but it's not that great
Nomura : No come on say it
Team : Well it's just a bunch of regular heartless that moving together to form some sort of tower
Nomura : Oh my GOD
Team : I know it's a pretty bad and lazy idea
Nomura : Put them EVERYWHERE !
Team : What ?
Nomura : EVERYWHERE !!!
Also RIP to the original seamless OST version of dive to the heart -destati-
It was most certainly not seamless in the hd 1.5 ost
It's hard to replicate that seamlessness when you move from midi to audio files, unfortunately, especially when it comes to the in-game transitions
