Thank you for the information sir! I’m going to be building a similar set up with the new 2.4 GPM predator pressure washer, just need it to rinse off ATVs this was definitely helpful. Saves me money on needing a transfer pump!
I have spoken with the technical department at AR pumps. They say that you should not run your pressure washer in this way. He told me to either use a 12 V booster pump, or to go with a gearbox. He actually recommended a different model pump and unloader build. He recommended Water Cannon to source the parts
Just bought one a few hours ago nothing but great reviews about this machine. Let's face it the 420cc motor outperforms the Honda GX390 all day everyday and is less than half the price usually. I even ordered a gearbox reduction that I'm going to place on mine. I'll make a video and be sure to tag you once I add the gear reduction🤘🏾
WAHOO!! Great news! This video is a total gem. Thank you! How long has your pred 4.2 been in service? Any issues? Going strong? I have one and am about to run it hard for three days in a row
@@rickovsky980 I ran my predator job after job with no major issues. I sold it when I upgraded to a 10gpm but found out fast that I missed my 4gpm. So I built a 4gpm very similar to the predator. It was just a little cheaper to build instead of buying another one. The 4 gpm is so much easier to downstream. I use the 10gpm for driveways and larger jobs but I use the 4gpm way more. The predator is a great choice in my opinion just don't overheat the pump or it will need replacing. Look into an external unloader valve if you haven't already. Good luck buddy!
@@MyPressureWashingBusiness Awesome mayn! Thats even more good news. I like my 4.2 but... it's the only one I've got! Atm. Trying to be as tender as possible with the ol gal so she keeps working
Thank for this but I have a question. I bought a buffer tank and tried this, but the water coming out real slow, why is that? The garden hose I used was pretty long, could that have been the issue?
yhanks for the fast replay man, a quick question, i have a 3600 psi 2.5 gpm dewalt pw with a aaa triplex pump, direct driven… i can use a buffer tank for that one too right? cause ive read that direct driven pumps do not suck water like the belt driven ones
Hi, This is the exact hose I bought Fevone Garden Hose 3 ft x 5/8", Hose Reel Leader Hose, Hose Reel Connecting Hose, Water Hose Connector, 3 Foot Hose Extension, Lead In Hose for Garden Hose Reel, Solid Brass Fittings - No Leak a.co/d/gvpSrT6
Here is the bulkhead fitting that is at the bottom of my 55 gal drum2 Pack Brass Hose Bulkhead Fitting with Plugs, EEEKit 1/2" Female NPT 3/4" Male GHT Garden Hose Threaded, Solid Brass Water Tank Connector for Rain Barrels, Aquariums, Water Tanks, Pools, Tubs a.co/d/2D6cet5
I'm glad to get conformation from your video. I have a 4200psi 4gpm. Great to know if the customer’s water source runs slow the gravity fed buffer tank will help keep it running smooth thanks again
Good question. Not everyone needs a buffer tank with a small machine but I live in a town where everyone has well water and some of the homes I washed I only got 3gpm out of the hose. My Buffer tank allows me to get the 4gpm my machine needs.

Bro this is the setup I am making thank u for proving my point
Glad to help! I actually just made an updated video explaining more about installing the external unloader valve.

what is a gearbox in this scenario?
@@jjrobb1125 a gear box driven pump.

Where can I find the water shout of for the garden hose
Can you put a pump on the buffer tank if you don’t want to do gravity fed? If so what size would you need?

No I never do
How many ft of hose is the predator able to run
I run 200 no problem

If you already have to run the garden hose and that all your specific washer needs then why bother with that 50 gallon buffer tank???
