Best free instructional video on downstream/maintenance ever!
+Bradley Fulbright thank you Bradley
@@AllAboutPressureWashing What is the difference between softwashing and downstream? Is it the same? Where a downstream injector is just the process of how to softwash?
Best channel to learn all things pressure and soft washing. Zero experience when I first started in 2018 and because of videos and guys like this I love been able to learn an extraordinary amount of surface cleaning and now stay booked out 1-2 months busy as all get up!!
Thank you
Thank you for providing a clear, concise, easy-to-understand explanation focusing on the essential points.
It was easy to understand, and I greatly appreciated it.
Definitely helped with further insight…. I had to take it apart yesterday and learned how they worked I have a ceramic ball in my injector…
This might just be the best "how to" video on UA-cam. Great work!
Glad you think so!
I have a Greenworks 2300. Soap doesn’t come out of the wand but soap is going thru the tubing. Now I’m going to check the injector. Thanks for the info.👍🏻
Glad for this video. I'm starting this month and have decided not to soft wash and only downstream, you've confirmed my thinking. Cheers!
That's awesome and good luck - check out the How to Wash training course - lots of great info in there
Thanks man I just got a new pressure washer to start a business and all you’re videos helped me to get to this point
Thank you for this video! Pure information no fluff, much appreciated!
Best explantion I've seen yet! Love your videos

Excellent video
+Aaron's Lean & Mean Academy Thank you brother
Thanks Mike!! I’ve been so confused which one I needed and they’re all basically the same thing running on a Venturi system.
I’ve actually got chemical injection system on my machine. Really appreciate your help and knowledge.

My pleasure.
Thanks for the video! This video was very helpful to me to get my valve cleaned out and the soap flowing again.
What's going on? I'm new to the whole power washing business starting my own company called before and after pro wash. Been investing a lot of money into equipment, LLC's insurance, business cards, door hangers, advertisement. I do work full-time but I'm trying to turn this into something full-time as we all want in life lol. Just wanted to say I appreciate all the knowledge that you and forever self-employed give me for free and I watch you guys on a daily basis keep doing what you guys are doing. You guys are awesome and go make that money baby
Thank you and good luck
We appreciate your expertise on this subject Mike! God bless you and your family in Jesus Christ name!

Super video especially for just starting out in this business.
+John Wilson thanks John
Starting with a pump but first thing I will do is upgrade to a down stream!! You made me obsessed with getting the right one for me!!
This was so helpful answered every question I had

What the heck! Thanks man, this video literally gave me everything I needed.
Love to hear it
Which injector did you use ? Thank you very much
Great, info!! This is the only channel my playback speed is .75 😄
My downstream inyector only work if I do use 50 ft hose. When I switch to 150 ft hose it stop working . What should I do to make it work with my long hose . Thanks 🙏
Great video str8 and to the point!! Thank u
👊🏻
Good info. Thanks!
+Todd Bailey you got it Todd
How do I find out the ratio my injector pulls chemical?
This video was extremely helpful and put me back on production. Thank you
Another great vid. Nice and simple
Thanks Gerald
Thank u very much I couldn’t figure out what was wrong until I seen this video the little ball from my injector fell out when I was changing it and I didn’t notice thank u very much appreciate ur videos
What’d you do when you noticed there wasn’t a ball in it? Just bought a pressure washer and the downstream injector that came with it wasn’t working so I took it off and found out there’s not a ball in it..
@@loganweber693 hi I order a new one on Amazon it came in a 2 pack worked perfect after that
Pedro has been consistently putting out fantastic information for years now. 👏
🤣
2:50 and 3:10 great tips, thanks
Thanks
Awesome video, quick and informational. Thank you!
Thank you, would 200ft of high pressure hose be to long for downstream washing?
+Delroy Chambers Yes
Have a good labor day Mike,
+Rick Washek you too Rick
Simple and straight to the point. Thanks
Hey, is there a way to use longer hose and still get ample sh injection?
Longer than 150ft
Brand, new hose, high flow injector, a few restrictions in line as possible, like Hose reels, 90° bends, etc.
Hey Mike! Quick question…I am starting a pressure washing business and have been learning a ton from your videos. I def will get your instructional once I get everything together. Question: You mention rinsing with the ball valve (02:16). What exactly is that? I know what a ball valve is, but what are you relating to? Thank in advance!
if you hook a ball valve up to the end of you’re hose you can you use it to rinse with. so if say you apply chemicals you can just use the ball valve to rinse it off with
Very good info! Thanks.
I purchased the downstream injector however this one that I got from Amazon is adjustable and has a metering valve. Was this a bad idea? I'm guessing I would have to open the valve all the way up to get the max amount of chemical right?
Yes - it’s just a preference thing, we like fixed because it’s less moving parts, which means less opportunity for failure.
What are the best tips to use while downstreaming ? And if I'm rinsing with an M5twist, it won't be pulling Chem correct? :)
Benjamin, the tips are dependent completely upon your machine, the psi in the GPM. You can consult with the manufacture of your machine to determine what would be best. I have never used an M5 twist, I'm not a fan of X jetting for multiple reasons but it is my understanding that if you use it just as a tip, that will prevent the flow of chemical with a simple twist.
I used the X-jet with the twist nozzle for 2 jobs and went back to down streaming. The x twisted either way will still pull detergent. I installed a 1/4 turn back valve about a foot and a half below the xjet to turn off the detergent. I went back to down streaming using a j-rod and haven't looked back.
Quick question Micheal, if I am doing a driveway, can I go with the black tip for the entire process??
No
Thanks for the advice. Good and thorough
I have lost the spring . what spring I can use. And how can I make the downstream injector which is attached with the pump working ?
+Mohamed mahir call Ray
Thanks for the great info. If I have a downstream injector connected at the washer right after a ball valve, then will my surface cleaner and wand get enough water flow? I ask because if the injector constricts the amount of water that can pass through it, then would it also result in less pressure at the gun? Thanks again!
Thank you! Simple and to the point.
I'm trying to use high pressure with soap for washing dirt bikes. How would I get high pressure soap dispensing? Other than a foam cannon.
You can't - apply soap at low pressure - rinse with high
@@AllAboutPressureWashing dang it :)
Elevate your soap tank a couple ft above your pressure washer, spray soap at high pressure all day.. 👌
@@Liimpy hmm... You mean the gravity feed from the height drop gets you what you need?
@@lkjhgfdsa-o6h yup, give it a try
Does this injector reduce the flow, if it does, any idea how much on a 3gpm/3000 psi unit.
Not enough to worry about it
Thank you for the video! I am only able to get soap with the injector when using the black soap tip not my j-rod. I've just purchased a new pw machine it came with the injector kit the arrow is pointing towards the wand away from the pump. I've put it on the machine like in your video and on the hose closest to the wand. What am I doing wrong? Oh and I have a 2.5 GPM and 4 GPM machine with about 100 feet of pw hose and injector hose about 5 feet same issue on both machines. Thx for any recommendations
Hey Mike, what percentage SH or solution do you get from the downstream injector?
2% max
@@AllAboutPressureWashing Do you mean that the draw rate is 2% or if you're drawing from a container with 12% SH the output is 2% SH?
I’m curious as well as I’m about to wash my house. If I fill a 5 gallon bucket with nothing but 10% Walmart pool SH, what % solution is it once it goes through the downstream injector ?
My machine has one like built into it with the arrow facing away from the machine, is it still required to plug one of these in ?
nvm looks liek my has a male thread and it screws off to replace is needed
+Cross Exterior Cleaning LLC If you have one, you do not need to put another one on.
+Cross Exterior Cleaning LLC Perfect, just saw this.
Finally someone who doesnt talk slow. Time is precious
Hi, i have this “downstream injector” directly on my machine. Is that okay? I have Wassper W3100VA.
It’s fine as long as it works. But as soon as it doesn’t work, I would bypass it.
So it is better to connect it directly to the hose?
With a 4gpm and comit pump can I run a 6 foot hose from my Chem tank to the downstream injector and it pull
Do you know were I can get the valve with the spring and ball bearing? Mine broke and can't find it
have you come across a downstream injector that can get you close to the ratio you need to clean a roof? I hear the suds sucker is a high draw injector.
+smitty4699 there are a couple that can get you a stronger mix but not really anything close to a roof mix.
Wont sh get into pump when overloader valve kicks in?
No, because the chemical doesn't go through the pump. And it is an unloader.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing it wont back siphon
my Simpson washer has an injector right at the end of the pump outlet built in. is it safe to use that or should I get a different one? I just worry sh could some how get sucked back into the pump if I was to use it
I just bought a Simpson 4200 PSI 4 GPM machine and I'm wondering the same thing.
Use it. I’ve used mine on my first 5 jobs!
Good video. I have a question for you and hopefully you can help me out with my pressure washer issue.
It won't turn on but when I put a little bit of Carb/Choke cleaner, it works but only for a few seconds (Husqvarna 3100).
Thanks a lot in advance sir!
your the man bro
New guy here thanks for the info
Thanks for the sub!
No problem 🫡
How much chemicals is bought into the mix for each 10 litres of water? - the standard on the Dewalts stock injector is 10%
Get the FREE mix calculator at MyQuoteIQ.com
Need help, added more hose and now i cant downstream. .. only with 50ft. Any more hose I can't pull suction suction. I've tried 2.3mm, 2.1mm & 1.8mm general pump injectors. Pump is canpump 4.7gpm, using jrod for 4gpm. Any help greatly appreciated
Hello, what if the pressure washer already comes with it’s own down stream injector? but paper work says to not use it for bleach only soap. Could I still run bleach through it or add a second down stream injector?
Great info! But this means you can only use a batch system where the percentage of chemicals is predetermined, am I right? Or is it possible to adapt a blender manifold to get a different mix?
Awesome video mate, up unfortunately can't fnd any one in NZ that can set this up for me
Can you get hotter mixes downstreaming then using an xjet?
Thanks for the video! I know, if using a separate pump, the SH mix should be 1:1, but what if using and injector straight from the pressure washer? Should the mix ratio be changed, and to what ratio? Thanks
Good to know I will let my pressure washer know
Hello from San Francisco CA
I use this connector Instead having sop out, my sop tank got full of water
On a 5 gpm pump do you use a 3to5 injector or the 5 to 8? Thanks
I'm from Brazil and I REALLY needed this type of valve or equipment but we don't have it here... I myself wanted to know the exact dimensions so I could have it made here because importing costs a fortune...
They are $18 - on amazon
@@AllAboutPressureWashing Send me the link? because what I have found here, adding up all the taxes, in the end I pay almost 800 reais (Brazilian currency)
What kind of connection do you use? The setup I figured out is spewing water out at the connections.
I know this is an old video but does the chemical injector have a set ratio or is it adjustable
Question my town don’t have the pool essentials 10% can I use hth chlorine it have the same I just never use that brand
+It’s a oliver’s World I have never bought either of those , we buy in bulk from a local supply house.
Great video! 2 cents to add because it drove me NUTS! Make sure your hose is 3/8! You cannot get a vacuum with 1/4 inch hose. Rebuilt the check valve 4 times before I realized that problem was the 1/4 inch hose.
Do they have a metering system on those? Is that check ball a meter of some sort so you don't get too much of a mix?
Can you run it on the end of the wand with a wide tip would that lower the pressure and work?
Great vid! Bad ass shirt !
Can I build a soft rush rig to work from the back of my 4 door sedan? I don't have a truck but I won't to get started. But all these videos from dudes that are setting up ACTUAL rigs. I need the starter version of this even if it's just me with a pump sprayer
Anything is possible
@@AllAboutPressureWashing ? Is their a build for downstreaming that could fit
Do you prefer gas or electric pumps when softwashing homes
Electric
Great Video! Thank you, God Wins!!!
Thx
I'm trying to use this type of valve attached to a broom normally used for washing under cars but it stops suctioning product when I attach any type of tip. Do you have any social media or email so you could help me?
Nope - it won’t work with high pressure - it’s the Venturi effect. It will only pull chemical at Low Pressure
@ So how do you use the venturi valve to throw the product with the high pressure washer? Should it be connected to the washer outlet and connected to the hose?
Hello hope you're still replying. Is there any way aside from leaving my water running (without just leaving the ballvalve open) to keep the pump from overheating? I heard thats a big probelm with pressure washers.
Run a bypass from the unloader
I have always been told the draw is 10:1. Do downstream injectors vary?
Will a DS work for a pretty bad metal roof or is it too weak.
+FLCOOLINGGUY It's going to be too weak
my machine has a down stream thing built into the pump. i don’t want to run bleach into it. I purchased a sown stream injector but it doesn’t work well
How does the high pressure not draw chemical from the downstream injector but lower pressure does?
Good advice
Glad it was helpful!
Hey mike question if I have a built in chemical injector on my 4gpm can I still use a downstream injector or would i have to cap the existing one?
I need to know if I can use one on my electric pressure washer. It's built way different from your regular one
No
Does it matter what thickness the hose is? You said 150 ft in length but can it be 150 ft of 1/4 inch?
