- Hi my Phan Club! I wanted to do a Christmas video today, but I have been under the weather. So here is some butter chicken and samosa! Hope you all have a happy holiday! Love you all! xoxo ;)

Is a cultural thing to eat with your hands when eating this food? I see many people eat with their hands when eating butter chicken but I don’t know why. Isn’t it dirty? I’m asking because I’m curious and want to know and don’t mean to offend anyone 😊
Dominic Avallone mostly all people in South Asia eat with their hands... it's more of regional thing than cultural. Like how people from east of Asia use chopsticks.

Dominic Avallone I think it’s traditionally eating with the hands. Of course clean hands but I also had comments before that it is okay to use utensils. I would suggest to do what is comfortable for you. It can get a bit messy since a lot of the foods are in a saucy base. I suppose if your raised or get the technique down it would be much cleaner. I’m just a beginner myself 😅
Guys! As an Indian we prefer eating rice with spoons rather than hands, Yes we do eat naan breads with hand and eating Indian food isn't that messy as we think

Reason why we(indians) eat with hands:-
When you eat with your hands, you are supposed to do so by joining all fingers together. This is believed to improve our consciousness of the taste of the food we eat. Not only are you feeding your body but also your mind and spirit. When you touch your food with your hands, you’re creating a physical and spiritual connection with it. You’re also much more present in the moment. When food is touched with the hands, there’s automatically more careful attention placed on it - what the temperature is, how much you can carry, how the hand must be held in order to keep the food in it.

I’m from Yemen and we eat with our hands for everything,maybe not soups but mostly soups are made with rice. We also put a large sheet or mat on the floor and place our food there then eat it, all together. When we eat we make like a bowl shape with our hand with no spaces and slurp it all up 😋 we don’t usually eat bread in our foods, almost never. And we always have bisbas on the side :)

i like the fact that you know the right combinations of food because in many videos when people eat indian food they mess up with everything and just eat anything

@@ASMRPhan it's easy. One cup coriander leaves or cilantro and one cup mint leaves, few cloves of garlic and an inch or two of ginger. Grind it with a little water oh and don't forget the salt! Lol. Done.

You did pretty good job 👍 even though your beginner you ate very well with your hands. People commenting that they eat rice with spoons and they are indian’s may be you people eat that way but we don’t it’s strict at our khandan that we have to eat with our hands there is no way that we could use spoons.
