If it were me , under the phone mount where you have it resting on the dash i would go to lowes or Home depot and get those 3M felt pads that you can stick to the arm so the felt pad is resting on the dash to protect the dash from damage from vibration , which im sure after a little while will damage your dash because of the vibration. Just a idea , to protect your investment..
Question guys: Do any airbags come out of the dash area(s)? Will any of these devices become projectiles into your or your passengers' faces where you have mounted them? (Unlike the Takata airbags that had projectiles inside them, but were recalled years ago, but those are hopefully corrected and long gone.)
Anything that comes with stickers in the box is 👍 haha. I’m sorry but while you were installing the mounting balls on the rail my eyes were drifting through your windshield to the Vette 😂. I can’t wait to see more mods on the new toy and getting it out to the trails. Take care Casey!
How well does your iPad hold up when hitting the trail? Does the 67 Design backet hold up nice and tight or does it constantly come loose and falls off?
Casey are wires in the rt kick panel part of (are they switched)? Or just there with the switches controlling under hood? I’m about to look for them and do the same setup you put in yours to clean up wiring...
Wires under the dash are 4 switched wires that match what's under the hood, 1 keyed power wire and one constant power. The 2 extras are only found under the dash.
@@Casey250 I've not looked into GAIA, so I'm not really sure how that works . . . I'm just asking the question. The built-in 8.4" screen is a nice display and I'd rather not clutter up the dash space with more devices unless I had to.

I WORKED AT A DEALER AND you have to warm up the diesel every single time you start it. If you don’t let it get hot every time it will plug up the injectors and cost you $600 Her injector. This is what happens on all diesels but most people don’t let them warm up and then they create huge problems because of that This is an amazing diesel but has no way to burn off that fuel unless it gets to operating temperature and your fuel will just sit in there
@@Casey250 thank you!!! How did the wiring go for the charger? How long of a USB cord did you need? Did you need a specific cable or just a regular one?
6 foot usb extension cables, tucked between dash and glass, down passenger side and behind glove box to the usb ports wired into the aux wire. I have two usb plugs from the extensions now sitting under the 67 designs rail, that have full lots of wattage for charging.
I have 2 of the 67 design phone mounts but would like to replace one with the Joby for a ipad mini. Do you have more information on the 1/4 in adapter you used with the Joby mount
It was mentioned that maybe gaia maps can be used with android auto, going to look into that. But the stock maps isn't good enough and i like to sync gaia across multiple devices too.
67 Designs has lots of choices on their website - tons of options. Can you share what length arms you bought, and if you started with a kit &if so, which one & what you added? Thanks.
The JL Trail Rail kit, with 2 short arms, and then added the pieces on in the video for the wireless charger, go pro, and camera adaptor to ad the Joby mount.
@@Casey250 Running it behind the the dash was what I was thinking; knowing the port is there in the dash means that everything is there behind it to make the connections. Either way, a USB hub by the rail would be pretty bad-ass.
Ive smashed the roof a few too many times and it leaks if I let it sit. I need to take it off and adjust it, just haven't had time. That and it sits under trees that drop stuff on it
Definitely. I keep the tablet off the mount 99% of the time and when I am using it, it much more centered and out of the way. Although some have said gaia maps works with apple car play and I am wondering if it will come to android auto. Then I think id redo this all together. Maybe hang it off an overhead rack for my daughter in the back and mirror it to the center screen 🤔🤔🤔
No need to mount a tablet anymore with Gaia, it works with apple car play ;) help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042742234-Gaia-GPS-and-Apple-Carplay Keep up the great diesel content! Would love to see any kind of side by side tests showing acceleration, passing at various speeds etc compared to a stock v6 gas jl too if you are able too.
Im already seeing this as a problem. Going to install dedicated usbs for these. Also my tablet keeps wanting to connect to android auto which is annoying.

Thx foe the tip!
I wish they had a reseller in Canada. The currency conversion rate with the shipping fee would make one mount+arm close to $200 CAD.
Nice set-up. Can't wait to see the 3.0 on the trail. Cheers!
Took it out yesterday. Vlog soon.
Great setup. I'm going to have to look into them for a better camera mount for my diesel Rubicon.

Very nice mounts. Looks a bit cramped though

You need more distractions on your dash!😂💜💕🚙

Can you drop your parts list with wireless charger? Also, did you make a video about the cable install?
The wirelss charger isnt available anymore unfortunately on amazon.
Since Gaia GPS can be linked to Apple play now are you still going to keep your tablet?
I dont use apple but i dont like android auto as I don't like plugging my phone in. I use a larger phone now for all my mapping

You sure have a lot of toys and vehicles. Must be nice.
I am very grateful.
Need a 90 degree adapter to use a drill on that.
Good GOD! Non-Millennial, “Why are there so many screens in here?” Millennials, “Lame, there’s only three screens and one camera in here!”
So, why can't you get the GAIA mapping app to display on the 8.4"? That tablet really seems to get in the way IMHO.
Ill have to look into that. I assume you mean with Android auto?

Nope didn't look at it. This I can also put back to stock and youd never know the holes where there.

Small. I think they are linked below in the description. 67 Designs customer service is great if you want to check with them, they will know for sure.
