@@sayyanhmuong737 Here in Utah, we got Stradman, who has become a wreck of a person to meet in real life. I met him in public trying to film a car, and he told me that if I didn't leave, they were going to call the cops because it was a supposed private event in the public parking lot. This guy seems more genuine and real.
As a sailor who was stationed in Yokosuka and Sasebo it was the highlight of my year to attend the Salon, cruise Daikoku, Akihabara, Ropongi, the tunnels and freeways and in the south we ran the mountains and coast roads. I had an ‘88 Fairlady Z turbo (90-93)then upgraded to a ‘91 GT-R (94-97). It’s the people and culture I miss the most, now all these years later through coincidence my neighbors on both sides are Japanese and I couldn’t be more content.
Hi Larry, great video as always. The Martini Liveried car near the start is an Ultima. British designed car done by Lee Noble who went on to start Noble Cars. Fun fact. An Ultima was purchased and used as a test mule for the McLaren F1.
It's surprising how little known the Ultima GTR seems to be. I guess both Ultima and Radical are low volume niche UK manufacturers that although they produce road going cars, I guess those cars are pretty hardcore and more like track day weapons than for regular driving.
What's the GMA T50 got to do with this? Yes it's also from a low volume British manufacturer, but totally different company than Ultima and Radical, and the T50 is a very different sort of car. It's the Ultima GTR which can be seen in this video with the Martini livery.
All I can say is I am a sixty four year old man in california. You make me wanna go to japan. Your photography and your emotion for automotive industry especially gdm. Is the best there has ever been. You are the best that is ever been. Do you love cars so much? And you could tell by the way that you're involved. You are great to watch.
Do it Glenn!!! On my bucket list too. That and the Nurburgring. As long as you choose to stay on the very outskirts of Tokyo it isn't too expensive either. Also, being American you can get in fairly easily too. What's life if you don't explore what your heart yearns for, eh? Good luck n hope you get to make it happen. 🤘🏼
The GT40 is a real one, the owner is Takeshi Moroi, has a huge collection and Dino made a video on that, he also owns a 962 road legal and there's a great video about it on YT...
Hey Larry. Wonderful video. It a dream of mine to visit Daikoku PA. The Martini liveried car in the video is a British kit car called the Ultima GTR. It has a tubeframe chassis with Fibre glass body that is loosely based on the idea of a grp C or IMSA prototype. They can be built with a variety of engine configurations of one's choice. Very popular is to build them with a GM or Ford v8 but as I've mentioned anything goes as long as one can make it work, we even had a guy here in South Africa build 1 with an Alfa v6 twin turbo and then years later swop that out for a Lexus v8 if my memory serves me correctly . They were even available as a turnkey car from the Ultima factory in the UK. This example is an absolute stunner in the Martini livery. These Ultimas were really and are still really impressive so much so that they can give more prominent supercars a real whipping when raced. Anyway. I love your work. Keep it up. Mohammed (big fan of yours from south Africa)
Just got back from Tokyo and Osaka and made a Daikoku meet stop a big part of the trip. TOTALLY WORTH IT. Especially if you rent something a bit fun to drive 🏎️ 🔥 Thanks for sharing the culture Larry!
I visited a year ago on a Sunday morning. Went real early like you and had 4 hours or so. My head was spinning. Like you said, while you're trying to take it in, there's just more cars arriving and leaving. I saw the gt40 and also wondered if it was real. Also spotted the dark blue countach but it was alone. Had the best time ever.
What a great cat meet. Sheer volume of badass cars and diversity is extraordinary. The only meet i can think even comes close is Cars n Coffee OC. It has the diversity and its share of supercar, hypercars and custom cars. I think Daikoku is now a bucket list item. Very cool, thanks for sharing Larry.
Happy New Year Larry! Thank you very much for the video, the deduction and drive to give us the awesome content is always appreciated. But please dont push yourself too much. You looked like you had a bender the night before..lol
Some amazing cars for sure! Like how the next video YT lined up was cars doing donuts in intersections with people flying out or getting hit, crashing..
Started planning a trip to japan for culture The Daikoku scene, low rider scene, old Rugby boys playing at 70-80s year old game or two, some camera store walkabouts. Maybe next year
I remember having dinner with you & Dino maybe 10 years go in shibuya, ( barbacoa), keep up the great footage Larry & pleased you enjoying your 34 - from a 32,35&34 gtr owner - Matt
Awesome look into an amazing car culture. I love the legends parked next to the daily's The OG GTR seemed like a pretty special car just sitting on its own without much fanfare.
Your content is CULPIBLE! YES, I search myself to leave AUTOMOTIVE SHITE ALONE and yet, you still bring me back to my nature. Wanting to spend, spend, spend money to make my Automotive Dreams come true. YOU ARE A DEVEILISH CONTENDER for all of our Crazy Minds LOVING for CARZ! Thee JAPAN CAR CULTURE is DEVELISH and it feels GOOD!!!! CHEERS MISTER CHEN!!!!
I aspire to be as good as you some day, sadly I feel like my older gear just can not provide the quality I want to create. However, I live through your videos and can only dream. Keep up the great content, miss seeing the Hoonies on Twitch. RIP:KB43
Planning a trip in two weeks. My husband has a 1969 Roadster (Fair Lady) and he would love this. Would look at going Sunday morning. Can anyone please give tips on getting there via taxi? Is it that hard to get one to pick you up? Thanks!
Celebrity spotted at 27:43 ! That Martini car is an ultima ( or a derivation of) you get those in the US Larry ps, you need to practice you're rhd parking 😁
keep in mind it’s not always this crazy. This New Years meet is a notch special. Some days are just slow and underwhelming. Fridays and Saturdays are better than other days of the week but likely shut down between 8:30pm and 12am.
Best part of Larry hes been the same dude since the beginning. Youre a good soul brother !! Thanks for sharing your awesome footage.
100% agree
@@R34Sumo he’s the og of this kind content, legendary photographer as well

Aye da vibes ❤
The New Years meet is something special but it's still worth going there every Sunday morning for something similar!

The Ultima was also used for the GMA T50 test mule too. I figured Mclaren F1 is the really big hitter@@aftrnoon_ac

To own n drive the road legal 962 is absolutely badass! What a man!
I’m so amazed. Every single car there is CLEAN. The meet is so quiet and respectful. I have to come here one day
Japan = Respect
I'm convinced Larry Chen has a clone, because no normal human can pump out so much content in such a short space of time.
Awesome video😊
"Some kinda race car" is an Ultima, which was originally designed by none other than Lee Noble.
Yeah those Lotuses looked immaculate next to those CABBAGES 😂😂
I love how many times Larry says “it’s so good”. Great content Larry. I love what you do.
larry my man 16:44 that was the holy grail of all dodge challengers right there
I love Japanese car culture - the variety of cars, the level of passion and the inclusivity. I miss being there.
The respect they have to each other is admirable, guys with Lambos talking with guys with GTR's. Amazing.
Can't wait for your Tokyo Auto Salon content and more Japan content

Im always amazed at the amount of lotus europa s in videos about japan. They are so awsome and so under appreciated
Japan is unfadeable! Thanks for this coverage as I’d be the same breaking my neck trying to catch everything.
that black chevy tahoe and old van were def the rarest vehicles there
Was that gold Murcielago an SV😮!?! What a crazy meet-up even more than the usual daikoku craziness. Thanks larry for bringing us along for the ride
16:56 ultima GTR
Thank you for bringing us along to see it through your lens, dream location!

Wow. What a morning. ❤
7:14 It's an Ultima and they can be found in Australia as well road legal
Half of all of the v12 Lamborghini Diablo and Countach and Murcielago’s and Aventadors in the world are in Japan. What the hell…just absolutely insane
nope, its the US with 2k+ units, 2nd place is China with 1k+ units, japan is in 4th/5th place with 500-600 ish cars
Did you see effspot ?
Gotta love this scene
Don’t ever think this will ever get boring or old to see!!!
I just love how diverse the car scene is in Japan, I went earlier on last year and i was blown away by it.
So cool that you and Dino can go to the same show and give us different content !👌💪
love the vids, you gotta add more of these vlogs style fillers. that visit to the konbini made the video feel more cozy

Anyone else notice the lady in the Porsche throwing her arms in an X to block out her face🫣🤣
12:40 RS500 was surprising... Love those cars.
Japan's homogeneous population is why these events can happen without drama. I hope that never changes.
The most ECLECTIC car meet I've ever seen good job dude epic scenes 🤙
Filmed on my son's birthday!! God, I love Larry and Dino's car content!

The 40 wasn't a replica. According to Dino it was used in the movie Ford vs Ferrari. The martini covered car is a Ultima GTR.
8:51 Did the passenger cross her arms to say like "stop recording"?
Xtreme bro🙅♂️ Na but seriously tho it did look like she was tryna tell him to stop wth
@@mindjal19probably hiding her face. Lots don't like having their faces recorded in public.

totally didnt want to be filmed
It's the: "what the hell" at @7:09 for me 😅
Curious to know what's the final number of svJ allocated for Japan
Whoa. Thanks.
That convenience store looks way more healthy than the ones here in 🇺🇸
I wonder why.
All your American food is pumped full of chemicals to make sure you get diabetes to charge you to die.

凄い車ばっかり!
Cool
04:17 Is it 2 Lotus' or 2 Loti? 😅
Can you please tell me when the 2025 new years car meet will be? I am going to Tokyo next week and would love to go to the meet. Thank you!
