Today is day three of their road trip and they travel from Amboise in the Loire Valley to Millau in Aveyron. @HobbyCaravan
Last night they stayed at Camping Municipal de I’ile d’Or in Amboise in the Loire Valley.
This morning, Slaw pops the drone up for some magnificent views of the chateau and the island.
The Slaw’s chat about the new Angles Morts stickers and sing out of tune as they drive along in their Hobby motorhome Helga.
Tonight’s campsite is Les Erables on the banks of the Tarn in Millau.
Time for a rest day and they decide to stay here for two nights.
Amboise is worth a visit. You can take the dogs into the grounds. It is the resting place of Leonardo da Vinci.
Feet off the dash please Mrs Slaw, it's very dangerous in an accident. Xx
And the drone footage looks professional.
Thanks Neil! Slaw loves his gadgets and really enjoys flying the drone and taking photos 👍🏻
Nice to see you wearing a Vancouver shirt on, living on Vancouver Island I never saw you on the island & missed a chance to win a mug.
Originally from County Durham!
Thanks Doug! Sadly we haven’t been to Canada. It was a present from family who went. Hopefully one day 👍🏻
Beautiful drone shots.
Thanks David!

It is 🥰
Thank you for allowing us to accompany you on your…..you make me smile. Great vlogs xx
Thanks Isobel!
🤣 loving the cheeky bum slaps! Great trip so far looking forward to more.
Thank you! He is a cheeky beggar 🤪
I think that the stickers you mention are for M\H's over 3500kgs. If I am wrong please correct me.
We like the A71/A75 as well as it is an easy and a beautiful run........oh, and free. We think that the reason for the non-charging of tolls is because there is not an alternative good road, ie: an RN, that follows that route. Again, please correct us if this is not the case. A quick one, on the toll route make sure that you are being charged as a Class 2 and not as a Class 3(which covers 6 wheels M\H's)
I think you’re right re the free motorways. Yes, we come up as Classe 2 on the peage 🤦🏻♀️
Another fun Video great.
Thanks Sean!
I really enjoyed your video. ⭐️
Thanks for Sharing! 💕
Greetings from Albania. 🇦🇱
Thank you!
Just managing to get into catching up with your French adventure properly and have to say I think it's fantastique! Great info as well which makes me feel confident to attempt France on my bob tod in the not too distant future. Cheers! 🍻 Sue x
Thanks Sue! It was a fab trip xx
what a lovely day with you again, everywhere in France looks so clean and litter free unlike the roads here. your filming of it all is wonderful Mr Slaw and very clever.Have a nice rest we look forward to the next stopover.
Thank you Margaret! It was a much needed day of rest x
Spending the morning on my back deck sewing whilst catching up on your vlogs….loving your trip 👍😀
Thanks Mandy!
Absolutely beautiful, enjoy. Very jealous
Thanks Barbara!
Feel like I’m in France with you guys. Looks amazing. 👍
You’re more than welcome on our holidays Jane!
Thats a long drive!!
It is indeed Stuart!
Your excellent vLogs remind us of our recent trip August and September. We were in Les Mures next to your chosen campsite Port Grimaud at the time of the forest fires and also enjoyed the bicycle rides on the excellent paths. We used tolls occasionally but did prefer local roads if we had time. At the tolls the missus pulled the wing mirror in so I could get close to the machine but she is only 5ft nothing so still got a cheeky pat on the bum although time was limited because she used a credit card and believed it was quicker than cash. I used Angles Morts signs in France because we are over 3.5 ton and driving through villages if a cyclists hit me or police stopped me I was covered. I used magnetic ones and were removed if transiting Spain, UK etc. You only need the 3.
Thanks Michael! It’s a lovely coastline isn’t it? We’ve stayed at Les Mures too. Well done for deciphering the rules for the Angles Morts stickers 👍🏻
another fantastic day, loved your journey so far. have a nice day off.
Thanks Bazza!
Apparently the stickers are required if the vehicle is over 3.5t Gross weight
It seems so Ian! No ones weighed us yet 👍🏻
Getting our van next month, and cant wait to start our journey into vanlife. We love watching your adventures, all the best Paul and Julie 👍
Thank you Paul and Julie! You’ll have a great time making memories in your van 🚍
Great video again, we are really enjoying travelling along with you. Picking up lots of tips
Thanks Steve and Jackie!
Another great video, you just keep them coming, its a pleasure to come along on your journey fab filming too xxx
Thanks Linda xx
Nice vlog, always enjoyable to watch, great drone shots
Thanks Doug!
Nice video guys keep them coming
Thanks John!
Hi guys
We are watching this from Haverig!
Another great video, very informative, your content is fabulous and just what we what to see .
Your choice of aire is superb .
Can’t wait to see the next one.
Lyndsey and Ian x
Thank you Lyndsey and Ian!
Hope all that driving is going ok, couldn’t do it personally, but looks like you are staying at some very pleasant places, stay safe👍
Thanks Peter! We love travelling, so the journey is part of our holiday 👍🏻
We get the impression that Slaw is purposely staying wide at the pay booth for his Oh là là shot.
He’s a cheeky beggar David!
Another great video
The blind spot stickers are only supposed to be fitted to all vehicles over 3.5t this includes motor homes
We didn’t fit them to ours but took them with us to fit is we needed too as ours is 4.1t
Very few motorhomes had them fitted
We drove down to sete in 2 days from Heathrow it was a Huge slog to drive and wouldn’t do it again
We came back in 3 days which was a little better but still having to do 250 miles per day
Did you ever do Sete when you could free camp all along the Basin de Thau? Such a shame they don’t allow it anymore 😥
@@mrsslaw9242 yes we did we always stay that side of southern France as it seems less touristy than the Cannes side
The A75 is an interesting driver in a motorhome that like your around 8m long
Hope you have a good trip and wait to see the next instalment
How do you get you dogs to be so still and quiet when you are on the road. We travel with two cats and they are up and down off the navigator's lap on a very regular basis
They are harnessed in to their Kurgo car seats. We stop at least every two hours for them to have a drink, leg stretch and wee. They’re both very used to travelling 👍🏻
Nice... Joli. Amongst other descriptive French words.
A 'Jolie vlog of your trip south with good info thrown in.
Poor Si left to do all the set up after driving for 6 hours and having to drink beer half a % less abv than he prefers.
Come on A, give the lad a break.
Mrs S must have a sore denier after all that bum slapping.
Crack on!
Ha ha Harry!
Blind spot stickers only if over 3.5 tonnes in urban areas. Fined if you don’t have them.
Thanks Graham! We should be okay then 👍🏻
I'm really enjoying all of your videos and this looks like a cracking campsite. We have ordered our first van for delivery next March and we are picking up lots of tips and places to go from you.
Thanks Dan! You’ll love it ❤️
Another fabulous update thank you both, the videos are so relaxing and enjoyable to watch! Good to see you both singing again and Mr Slaw seems to a bit more chatty too which is nice - loving the cheeky toll bum slaps 😂. Looking forward to the next one. Amy Paul & Ted 🐾
Ps Mrs Slaw…. Are you a teacher? X
Thank you Amy! He’s a cheeky beggar 🤪
Hi Guys ,thanks for shearing this blog it’s so beautiful the scenery stunning and patting Mrs on the bum very exciting lol if you can’t reach give me a call ,the dog is beautiful with have the same at home so loveable, love camp sites, the tolls how many did you have to pay to go through them I’m sorry I don’t know your wife’s name but it was fun watching her reach through the window to pay I saw her pay €30 Euros, well loved the blog so, till next time take care keep safe, John 🇬🇧🇬🇧👀🍷🌹😜😜
Thanks John! This section of the route from Amboise to Millau had two peage sections. 14eu40 and 30eu.
Love your videos but Mrs Slaw can hardly hear you when your in the van travelling . Is it possible you can use a little Mic?. Mr slaw enjoys the toll bridges lol
Thanks Sue! We’re trying to get the sound better 🤞🏻
Another great vlog! If you're taking music requests, can we have some more Willie Nelson please?
Ha ha! Well done for working it out from our singing 🤪
Great video, interesting to see the road down to Millau. Im keen to see the bridge but not go over it! Is the road down and back up the other side ok? we'll be towing an 8ft wide twin axle caravan?
Thank you! Yes, it’s a good road down and back up. At one time, that was the only route so it’s big enough for trucks 👍🏻
We are enjoying the videos of your trip through France and look forward to the next one. Can you tell us more about your experience with the tolls? What is the MTLP of your van and how classify it and decide what to charge you? We are planning a similar trip next May driving through France to the Cote D'Azur and onto the Italy and any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Eddie! We’re 3.5 tonne (approx). Our last van was 0.5 metre shorter but still about 3.5 tonne. The auto tolls have always picked us up as Classe 2. Many years ago I had (and lost) an argument with a toll booth operated who charged us a higher class!
the blind spot stickers are or the benefit of pedestrians and bike riders..not other drivers. any motorhome "capable" of being over 3.5T HAS to display the blind spot stickers - just not sure how enforced it is at the moment. Love the vids x
Thanks Leanne!
Have you done the A20? It was free the last time I was there
Hi Roger, we did part of L’Occitane (A20) a few years ago heading from Angouleme to Vias. This year we’ve come down Le Meridiennne and we’ll probably go back Route du Soleil.
Mrs Slaw, enjoying travelling the journey with you, great source of info.
However, I do wish you wouldn’t put your feet on the dash. One small bump and you would break both your legs. We don’t want to spoil Slaw’s fun of smacking your arse at each pay stop.
Keep them coming.
Thanks Nick! I know I shouldn’t do this, but on long journeys it’s nice to stretch them out occasionally. I don’t do it in built up traffic 👍🏻
Hi both we’ve just had our first motorhome and are following your trip in France 👍 . We would like to know how you fill your gas bottles up in France or do you fill up in uk before you go
Hi, we have refillable gas bottles. Safefill system. We carry an 11 and a 6 and have never run out yet, but we only manage 17 days max as we both still work full time 😥
You’ll struggle to refill uk bottles in France. French fittings are different on their bottles so no good unless you change the regulator. Argos used to sell a plastic refillable bottle with all the lpg fittings which is what we’re going to get when we’re back in the uk.
Hi really enjoying your France trip but it’s difficult to hear you sometimes which is a shame
Keep the videos coming
Thanks Joan! We are trying to improve the sound when we’re in the cab. But then again that is just another excuse for Slaw to buy another gadget 🤪
Did you consider getting a tag for the autoroutes? Being on my own, and a wheelchair user there is no way I can manage those pay booths so a tag is essential. And the annual fee is only about £8. Plus, of course, your tolls!
Tell me about tags what is it and how do you pay the tolls I’m also in a wheelchair with one leg so very interesting to see what you tell me ,thanks
We didn’t look into this - sorry.
@@johnallen148 give me your email address and I can let you know what it is and how it works and what you need to set up
my mini labradoodle knows on y va..lol
Multi-lingual dogs 👍🏻
La main au cul c'est un porte-bonheur ?
🤣🤣🤣
Great Vlog but would rather support business in Uk than France.
Hi Neil, in the last 12 months we’ve spent two weeks in Scotland doing the NC500, a week in North Yorkshire (Threshfield, Hawes, Leyburn and Cayton Bay), two weeks touring Haverigg, Southport, Chirk and Talybont in Wales, Devon, Cornwall , the Cotswolds and Buckinghamshire. We’ve had long weekends in Pickering, Castleton, Barmouth, British F1 Grand Prix in Northamptonshire, Leyburn in North Yorks, Twinwood in Bedfordshire, Holmfirth and Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire. And that was either side of the six month lockdown Oct to April. So, I think we are justified in spending two weeks out of the UK 👍🏻
@@mrsslaw9242 Fair statement that
Enjoying your adventures, but please mrs Slaw don’t travel with your feet on the dash, as if the airbag ever went off it would be catastrophic for you.
Thank you!
Loving your blogs just a question Why dont you use e movis tags when travelling on paid motorways. Save a lot of time and hassle. Keep the blogs coming me and wifey touring France from armchair with you. Cant go ourselves due to hospital appointments . 2022 target for us,
Hi Kevin, we don’t think it’s worth it for us as we’re out of season and hardly queuing at the booth. That’s Slaw’s excuse anyway. Looking at the vlog, I think he likes to see me struggling to get to the cash part of the machine 🤪
@@mrsslaw9242 On the contrary Mrs Shaw he likes to slap your bum so fair play, Keep up the good work.Stay safe.
