Thanks for the vid. I don't always twist or braid my for before I go to sleep because sometimes so dislike the tension from braids or tense and just want my scalp to feel completely relaxed when I sleep but I do always moisturize my hair before bed and wear a satin wrap or sometimes a plastic cap to keep my hair hydrated. I really don't mind shrinkage at all as long as it's soft and fluffy. I'm an older woman so I rocked my fro back in the 70's as a teenager and I'm so glad people are enjoying them and wearing them more now.
Man thank you so much for this. I grew up as the only black person in my family so nobody taught me how to take care of my hair/scalp, and as a result I’ve had a buzz cut for almost ten years now. Finally decided to try and look it up and my fro is coming in so nice, thanks for the tips on moisturizing! Makes a world of difference.

Either way, learning to take care of my hair is such a soul searching, spirit reviving experience! I'm learning that taking time to nurture my hair, is a part of Self Love that echo through out other parts of my life as well! Kudos to you for sharing tips on how to traverse such a journey successfully! Peace Love Harmony and Good Vibes to you and All your endeavors! 🙏😊
When i first went natural i kept my hair in afros or twists and now i do just twists because my hair longer now but i can still do my afros if i want to.😘 They are beautiful and i always think of the 70s eventhough im a 90s baby literally 1993 were yall at.
girl ive been protective styling with wigs for the past 2.5 months. i told myself that ima try this thing for three months straight so my fro can rest cuz i be playing with my hair too much and needed some self-control lol only two more weeks to go and im proud of myself! but u sure r making me miss my fro lol im lowkey tired of putting on these wigs😂
I definitely feel you on that lol, there's no satisfying me. I'll get braids, and instantly miss my fro, but I'm always tired of having to deal with my hair when I do have a fro lol
This fro is life😍I actually do this i part every time i deep condition and i do prepoo with coconut oil or coconut milk based protien serum helps my hair tremendously. The one day to not be lazy is wash day any time i am or i don't feel good good and i try to be quick about it my wash day is trash.Than i go the next time take my time instant revival i do use sulfate or clarifying shampoos maybe once or twice a month because i use heavy butters and creams I keep my hair up for the most part lol i am just lazy.I'm still new at this i am learning but i see some length i see something happening but i still have a ways to go but it is pretty simple not as hard as i tried to make it out to be a year ago when i gave up and went back to heat training.I'm not giving up this time though.
Love the video & also you ❤️. This was my first video Ive watched of you and you know i had to look at em all. Your melanin really shows youre humble n most definitely down to earth. Definitely subscribed. Im tuned in. Gone head girl watcha bad self.
im glad I came across this video..Had love for 12 yrs.and now I'm struggling with this natural hair care. I'm clueless.just don't wanna do wash and go every morning.
You look amazing. ♥ I'm very, very white and nowhere near afro hair or anything, but... I just really like this video. Also, lots of useful tips and information in general! I've watched this video a few times by now. ♥ Keep going, you're doing great!

Gorgeous and informative.. with a touch of real deal homor! love it! I want to rock my natural...but i live in Maine and it gets SUPER dry and cold up here for 9-10 months. Do you offer any deep hydration/conditioning routines for climates like mine? I also color my grays dark...thoughts?
Thank you! I'm working on a deep conditioning routine, currently trying one out because it's dry all year where I am as well. I've been deep conditioning with heat and the Orange Rosemary Conditioner for a couple of weeks now. I'll definitely do a tutorial with the results once I'm finished. I know what has kept my hair hydrated to this point has been Jovi Shai Beauty products.
Nice Video on Keeping An Afro . Been natural 4 15yrs. Thanks for the edges, ends tips. Because of the CORONA Deal : I'm DOING my own hair . Best VIDEO for AFRIKKAN Hair . BTW : Is your hair product for all AFRIKKAN Hair type? Just wondering . I use Black soak, tea tree oil w/peppermint oil . Then use she A moisture for deep conditioner .
I really enjoyed this video your a beautiful nubian queen. You are the essence of the 70's. I like your style. Your hair is so beautiful you can tell you take darn care of your hair. Stay beautiful, stay proud✊
Hello Sis, I am new to your channel and firstly I would like to say how beautiful you are and your hair is also as divine! I have been growing my hair for 11 months and now the top of my head my hair is about 4 inches whereas the sides are 2.5 inches and the lower back of my hair is barely an inch, it’s very disproportionate, I was wondering if you had any tips or any advice on how to promote growth in those areas because it’s almost like it has stopped growing. Much love and respect.
Do you know any solutions before I get a protective style again? I had braids in my hair for 3 weeks to a month but before I used a moisturizer and oils and I took them out and it became really hard to manage after ....
Thank you! And what I would suggest is a deep conditioning. Depending on how your ends feel, you may want to cut them. If they're really dry and damaged especially. But a deep condition should help. That's what I would do.
thank you so much,i really love all you said, but i want to ask.how can i get the same product, you used,i love your style, just keep doing you, well your hair is so soft, how can i make mine so soft like yours thank you so much/......
I wash my hair once a week normally. I'm sure you can moisturize it without sectioning it, but for me personally, I feel it's more thorough and effective to section my hair.
Hi there! I just purchased Jovi Shai Value Set for me and the Beard Conditioner for my husband. I'm so excited! Just curious, what do you use to deep condition your hair? And how often do you deep condition?
Yay!!! Thanks for your support! I use the co-wash to deep condition. I leave it on for an hour with a shower cap on, then rinse it out. I do that maybe once a month.
Perfect! Thanks for responding (so quickly :)). One last question, I know the products should be refrigerated. About how long does each product last before expiring? And how long do you normally have a product before you use it all?
Sorry, I'm just now seeing this. It last roughly three months if kept refrigerated. I normally go through the co-wash in a around two months (I wash weekly), and the body conditioner takes me close to three months.
Matia Ortiz for me, no. I used a lot of different products before I started making my own. But it's up to you. Weigh your options and see what you think is best for your hair
Omg! You are so beautiful.... black women look their best in their natural hair, seriously!!!😍

Hi! How I could get that product?
How often do you wash your hair, and can you moisturize your hair without putting it into sections?
I wash my hair once a week normally. I'm sure you can moisturize it without sectioning it, but for me personally, I feel it's more thorough and effective to section my hair.
Hi there! I just purchased Jovi Shai Value Set for me and the Beard Conditioner for my husband. I'm so excited! Just curious, what do you use to deep condition your hair? And how often do you deep condition?
Yay!!! Thanks for your support! I use the co-wash to deep condition. I leave it on for an hour with a shower cap on, then rinse it out. I do that maybe once a month.
+ericaleshai No problem at all! Sounds like a good idea. What about styling? The twist out is a staple for me. What product would you suggest?
For twistouts, braidouts, and my afro, I use the Shea Coconut Body Conditioner. It gives a really nice shine and great definition.
