@Xaoxdive Allow me to interate on how subtitles don't count, as someone will no doubt dispute it sometime next year. . . The spoken word in a Japanese language video with subtitles does not usually correspond to the written one, because the Japanese structure their sentences differently. The first spoken word could be the third subtitled word. Or maybe there is no English equivlilant, so the translator (who may or may not be a professional) will rewrite the entire phrase to compensate.
Well i personally like the dubbing of this game. At most of the animes and games the original voices are far superior, but for some reason i did not feel that in this case. Of course there are some parts where the dubbin isn't that good, but actually it is a very professional job for this game and the voice actors really made me feel that they are the voices of the characters because the dubbing did gave back the feeling when they was sad or happy. Especially Yukari and Jumpei and Akihiko
@Xaoxdive Therefore you don't know what words are being emphasized or emoted. You don't know which word caused them to become enraged, or start sobbing. You can only guess by what the subtitle says and make the connection using your understanding of the English language and American/British/'wherever you hail from' cultural norms for speech and emotion. It might as well be gibberish, non-existent language with subtitles. What you read may have been completely different then what the actor said.

+Luccas Magalhaes That thing is still a gun. In persona 3 it is technically possible to summon your persona without the use of the evoker gun because what actually causes their persona to come out is intense mental stress. The gun simulates that intense stress. Yukari has probably only summoned her persona once at this point and does not know a lot about the evoker. She is scared that the gun may kill her.
Evokers prove to be traumatizing and tiring, as the Evoker still retains the shape of a gun, and using an Evoker resembles the act of committing suicide. The Evoker is a symbol of death, accepting death and knowledge of mortality, which often arise during the teenage years. It also acts as a reminder of how the members of SEES are aware that they can die while fighting Shadows. This is why Yukari Takeba has difficulty using her Evoker: she is afraid of death, and comments that the predicament is like "losing innocence." This is also why the protagonist has no difficulties using it: he does not view death as scary.
This scene is so much better in japanese. The english version sucks compared to this. I like the way the focus the personas in this series.
