Quit skateboarding because it’s incredibly foolish to throw yourself down huge flights of stairs, getting injured, and not being able to pay bills.
It’s called growing up. Life does’nt give us the luxery of pretending to be young every day.
As an adult, we have responsibilities to take care of.

Amazing. My father is 72, he has acted and spoken like he was old and beat up since his 50's. He now seems like he is 82. Never moved body, never got himself into hobbies, and never wanted to learn something new. What a shame. So happy for you and your father. I hope to be the same way when I get up there.

My grandfather is turning 87 next week. Last summer, without telling anyone, he grabbed a ladder and his tools, stripped the roof off his barn, and re-shingled it. A body in motion stays in motion. He also always went water skiing directly off the dock so his hair wouldn’t get wet. He did that until my grandmother made him stop at 81. You’re only as old as your limiting beliefs

I just turned 71. A young woman at the lake last week told me I didn’t look a day over 40. I keep myself the best I can but I do think young. I’m with this study. It matters how you think. As for those of you chattering on about skateboarding; I used to rock climb with my late husband. I’m overweight now and I had a brain tumor removed. He said we were done climbing. We rode bicycles, hiked, swam and THOUGHT YOUNG

@gorhamcj1 For sure you can do this! I've recovered from a massive brain stroke and a massive head injury (not at the same time 😊 or in that order). After the head injury my first
[ex] neurologist said I would remain exactly as I was (basically just a drooling lump) whereas my next neurologist ended up wanting to shake my hand for being the first known TBI patient to survive past 5 years after a complete and total loss of connection to my past (I had no idea who I was, who my family was, what the number 5, hell what a number was!) But here I am, many decades later: retired after a wonderful career as a Systems Integration Engineer, a couple of college degrees, and even saving a queen from an assassination attempt. Just never quit trusting that image of a healed, better you. Yeah, somedays you'll fall down, but then there's the next day. Just envision the healed you, not how you'll get there. The Creator, Source, the Universe or The Great Father - whatever you believe in, even if it's just yourself - that will take care of getting you to that end that you envision. There is 'something' that exists beyond this life. I know. I have met that Being. I have died twice already. Yet here I am. Life is a trip, a beautiful, stunning trip - if you let it.

I’m always eighteen. I knew that it was the apotheosis of my beauty and energy. So I made a pledge to be eighteen forever and amazingly, it’s worked! I am much older, healthy, fully enjoying life, still attractive and never frumpy and complaining. I remain pretty much a kid, having fun every day. Laughter was always my go-to “medicine.” And I cry readily, as well, because tears are cleansing. But I never allow myself to sink into a sad state for long. Enjoy your life. That’s a form of daily gratitude that really pays off.

Don't look at others, see them age, crumble down and think: that's what'll happen to me one day. Always act as though you have not aged a day since your absolute prime. It is with our minds that we make our reality.
I was the newest and oldest member of a muaythai training session at a "youth club" last night. At 47 and countless injuries in life, I outdid everyone in cardio and combo practice and fought an absolute tank of 120kg (I'm 90kg) that everyone avoided. The trainees weren't All warm and welcoming at the start. But by the end they were coming to say hello and shake my hand.
I am 47. Do not have crutches, meaning that I've always believed I'm so young that All my injuries heal and am as good as new (my spine has been fractured 3 times. my knees damaged 3-4 times ....). I feel as though I am 20. And my body behaves like a 20 year old. It is not our body that let's us down. It is our mind and hearts if we allow them to.

Closing in on the big 80 and I don’t take any meds as I don’t need them. Walk at least a mile, do my own lawn and take care of whatever needs to be done. Never smoked, drank or did drugs. I was inspired by a 77 year old neighbor who walked 3 miles in 45/50 minutes. She wasn’t able to after her doctor’s busybody nurse told her to stop eating all the cakes and cookies she baked. In athletics that’s called carbo loading and when that nurse told her to stop, she couldn’t walk that far anymore. So yes, if it is working for you, shut out the naysayers and people who think you should or shouldn’t be doing. You do you.

I'm 64 years old, but have never felt my age. My hair has never turned gray, I have minimal wrinkles and physically feel the same. I didn't realize that I was doing this, but apparently it's working. I'll never stop believing that I'm young. ♥️

@@claudiastokes6485 It's not really based on a study and there is some approximations and errors.
First of all it's bases on a book, "Mindfulness and mindlessness" where Ellen Langer, a pshychologist ,talk about a ''study'' she did in 1979. the results of the study are no where to be found (i saw that some scientific reserchers asked her and she said that they were lost)
      the protocol was also questionable, there was no control group, just two groups, one with a "clockwise" situation, with photos and news papers, and the second one where people keep remembering the participants on some events of 1957. Both groups showed improvements;
There is the first error Joe made, they were immersed in 1959, so 20AGO not their 20years old . in 1959 most participants were between 55yo and 60yo.
A second study was held in 2019 .
the protocol is detailed in a paper :
Ageing as a mindset: a study protocol to rejuvenate older adults with a counterclockwise psychological intervention
the potocole respects modern scientific practice; with a 3rd control group,
however the results were not released.
finally E Langer is in fact a renewed psychologist and a professor at harvard, however, this study was her first one after her PhD back in the 70's , and i think that some poeple are branding this story it like some einshtein or ghandi citation.
ps: the book looks interesting, the 2019 paper is definitly great, hope we'll see a publication soon.

I actually had a contact with a person who found the way to stay young for as long as 100 years. Yes those people exist but they rarely ever stay in one place… not to bring too much attention to themselves it is doable but not easy. There are some techniques and lifestyle changes. Without sacrifices nothing good can happen

Funny thing... before watching this short a few times, I was listening to a binaural track that said I may feel tingling in my body. Binaural beats are great, but this particular beat didn't resonate with me. This short clip caused that tingling. Pretty cool!!! 🎶

I was 7-8 years old when I learned swimming by myself, no parent or instructor help with just an imagination. I used to think every night that I can swim and also I was thinking what style I was swimming. I was doing it unconsciously as a kid that was really eager to be able to swim and one summer I went to the beach with my parents and felt like I have been swimming all my life. Now, listening to this reminded me of that situation and makes me believe that I can achieve anything by thinking of it constantly.

there was a “ Twilight Zone” episode they came out around 1960 or so that’s Hudson this very same thing of course in the episode they physically became younger too but it’s amazing how long we’ve known this and how much negative programming talks us into aging, but I am 65. I healed from condition will say I had all my life, I’ve got enough medication in the best health of my life you are the placebo…
