Hate the comedy in Millionaires Express, love the fight scenes. You may remember the Japanese actress in it, she is Yukari Oshima AKA Cynthia Luster, she is phenomenal and you should check her films out Jeff. Start with Angel Terminators 2 (amazing film) Moon Lee is another great who you should look out for. Roadhouse is an all time favourite of mine, great edition 👍
Hi Jeff, You know my thoughts on "Keoma" fine late spaghetti western but i won"t say much on the soundtrack ! Glad you enjoyed "Requiescant" "Death Sentence" & "The Five man army" all top 50 efforts in my listing, but out of these three "Requiescant" would be my preferred one i too missed out pn the VS 4K collectors edition of "Roadhouse" so this German media book release might be the next best way to go, nice edition, fine update buddy.
Very nice pickups there Jeff, I enjoy these updates a lot. The instrumentals for Keoma aren't too bad actually, it's that gawed awful song by Sybil & Guy that takes you out of the power of the film. I thought it was a little slow in places, but overall a very well made Western. Mark Damon steals the show in Requiesant I think, what a devilishly wicked and wonderful performance he gives. The film itself takes an odd turn at some point but is still very good. Pier Paolo Pasolini in a Western is ultra surreal to me, how he talked his way into the film we'll never know. I still need to pick up Death Sentence actually, looking forward to checking it out. I read it's more of a vignette style film with Robin Clarke going from place to place looking for revenge which sounds quite well done honestly. I have a fair understanding of Italian from having seen so many films in that language over the years thankfully, so I can watch the film without subtitles. The Five Man Army I haven't seen in its entirety actually, still need to, and have heard good things about it. Millionaire's Express aka Shanghai Express was released by Eureka! Entertainment in the UK and Arrow Video in the US I believe, both stellar releases from what I've heard. The film itself seems OK, Sammo Hung tends to get silly in his stye at times, but he's very creative. Road House is certainly an 80's classic, and one of Swayze's finest hours as a tough guy hero. Sam Elliot is one of my many favorite character actors, a cool voice and fascinating face and mustache. Take care my friend, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
