For a 1k setup I have gone with BC coils in the past and was impressed. Did camber kit and plates which helped but had no noise or issues with plenty of driving on them. Have moved on from that set up but when I was running it for that price was impressed.
The KW H.A.S kit is definitely one of your best bang for your buck if you don't want to splurge on a set of coilovers. Keep the content rolling 💯

Good info Thic, especially the downsides to springs only. I fitted the MSS HAS kit on my M2, and am happy with them. 0-30mm adjustment and better traction out of familiar corners. No bounce that I've experienced on straight lowered springs. I will be going for Ohlins when the funds allow, or see how Evolve do with their matched MSS / Bilstein coilover kit.

So not specific to the M2, but curious what your thoughts might be on the KW V1 kit... it's an affordable coil over kit for ~$1500 but not as adjustable as the V3's. Asking because I'm going to be doing these very soon on my E91 (they're also one of the very few companies that make a kit specific for the E91). A penny for your thoughts... Or anyone else for that matter 😁
Kw in general is one of the best in the business. I think the v1s are great if you don’t need all of that adjustability. For some, the dampening and camber adjustability is overkill. Especially if you aren’t tracking

Not a huge fan of springs, they drive fine and all but most are shorter than OEM which makes me a little concerned on OEM struts that weren’t made fo the shorter springs.
Maybe I’m over thinking?
If you lower the car on oem shocks they will inevitably wear faster, that’s the truth

Hey Thic. Yeah you are so right when it comes to price point. Just had a fk coil spring break on my VW Polo. Not sure if you guys get VW Polos in the US. But yeah you get what you pay for some times. PS when you taking your car to kies dyno?
and in the 2 years since this video was posted...a HAS setup will now run you $1,500 to $1,800 and coilovers are now $3k to $4k...good god!

No real concerns honestly. I’ll be running track wheels from apex, R888r tires and hawk pads. I have an h&r sway bar I need to install before then as well

For my F80 I’m definitely doing Eibach and possibly a camber adjustment kit. It’s a family car, so it doesn’t need to be too low. I appreciate this HAS review vid.

I've been in the market for a M2c, but after watching your vids, I feel like I need the M2(N55). Would you recommend yours over the M2C?
It’s a tough call man. If you can afford the m2c, the s55 makes crazy power very easily. If you’re not worried about straight line races and high power numbers, then the N55b is plenty fine. At the end of the day, this isn’t a drag car it’s a track car that’s how I see it. I prefer the sound of the N55b, I just wish we got the m2c seats! Lol
@@ThicWhips I definitely won't be drag racing my M2, however, I need something that won't get absolutely obliterated by a Porsche Turbo S on the straight aways at the track lol. So I guess the m2c would fit my needs more. Thanks for the help!
