In this video I talk a little about gain staging in Ableton Live 10. Although the process of gain staging / gain structuring can be carried over to any daw very easily!

May I ask how you show your plugin in session view @5:40? I'm really new in Ableton and my session view isn't showing what plugins I'm using unless I click on the track.

That’s a “secret” option you can switch on. Have a google search for Ableton secret options 🙂 it just requires you to create a text file with a line of text in it. It then gives you an option to switch it on and off. I am noticing after using it for a bit that sometimes the names of the plugins don’t show, I think this is why it’s not an option that is already switched on, maybe a beta option or something. 🙂

Why and how do you have that vertical view of the effect chain on Live screen? Im a legal user and dont have this option

There’s nothing illegal about it, search for hidden option for Live. You just have to create a text file to switch the option on.
