@@didifixthat7910 The Curt hitch receiver appears to hang a little lower than the stock one. Did you have to modify the trim piece to get it to fit? Can you attach a pic of yours as installed?
Sure did. Looks fine. The only issue is that my car is a nightfall and the cover is”raw” plastic finish not painted gloss black. Actually the nightfall edition with hitch also has a “raw” plastic finish. Kia does not sell a glass black hitch panel. Really think they should for the nightfall edition but they don’t.

I know you did this months ago, but do you remember having to use a lot of force to remove the cover after taking the screws out? Yours seemed to just fall off after removing the screws, but did it come off that easily when you did it before filming? Mine's stuck on there pretty good.
Yes it comes off easily but there are some tabs that you have to pull or pry on a bit to get it off, if memory serves me correctly. Double check that all the screws are out. From underside of car you can kind of see the tabs that I’m referring to.
Haven’t put on a wiring harness yet as I installed this for a bike rack. If I’m not mistaken, there is an aftermarket plug and play harness available. The factor one is stupid expensive for what it is. Guys at the dealership said it would cause electrical issues, of course they would say aftermarket would cause issues. They couldn’t tell me exactly what type of electrical issues it would cause but it would cause issues in their words. I think the aftermarket harness is made by curt.
No. This hitch is a direct bolt in. Only thing you need to modify is the rear bumper trim piece. I actually bought a new trim piece from the factory that is already cut out for the hitch. I think it was around $50.
@@didifixthat7910 yes, thanks for answering my questions, the oem cover also have the space for the wire, with the Curt hitch only, will have the extra empty space.
@@dachta1 if I understand your question correctly, there is a rectangular area to the left of where the hitch protrudes thru the plastic trim piece. This is used for the wiring harness/trailer lights plug. I haven’t purchased the wiring harness as I got the hitch for a bike rack and really don’t plan on towing with the vehicle. I think there is an aftermarket plug and play wiring harness or you could go factory but the factory harness is crazy expensive.

good grief just cut the existing one with a pair of tin snips or a Dremel lol why spend nearly 60$ on junk. Rather buy the tools if i didnt have them and have them for future projects...

There are three muffler holders. You only need to remove the rear and mid.

I cut mine with a box cutter. Can’t even tell it was modified. Curt instructions show where to cut.
