Obviously there are a lot of crinkly off white things around the headquarters. Add to that those riveting three hands rotating smoothly around in a circle which is just mesmerizing. Pair that with a uninspiring same as it ever was light bracelet or strap and boom you have the three pillars of the GS brand.
they wont, its in their blood and culture to always evolve and innovate, not like this other brand i know whose sole value today is because they made it seem like theyre products are "limited". Grand Seiko might lead the market in the future, they are ahead in watchmaking aspects, they are gaining popularity as a brand, they dont just release things to stay relevant, they release things to show their levels.
This channel is just delivering interesting content, video after video. Over the course of two years my love for watches has grown so much, because of this channel. Thanks Teddy.
I just picked up my first GS today in Ginza, Tokyo. The photos and videos do not do their watches justice they are just breathtaking I ended up buying the beautiful snowflake. What set them apart was the pride of craftsmanship and service I got in the store they even have a nearby museum they walked me over to. Just an incredible brand with people who have a passion for watches and treat their customers rightly so. Unlike my shit experience at the nearby Rolex AD with 8 staff who couldn’t be bothered with you because they “don’t” have inventory (unless you bribe them or buy 5 watches at a time)
@@chiguy750 I've gone gone trough the Seiko Ananta and GS phase damn nearly a decade ago. His enthusiasm and clear depth of knowledge for each piece he talks about is evident and makes his interviews seem so much more authentic. these are the most beautiful timepieces i have ever seen! really appreciate these videos explaining the lovely details of each watch! im a new fan and a big fan!
Thank you for making this comprehensive video. I was always a GS admirer. But now with a better understanding of every small detail and the significance that goes into each unique design, I now have a greater admiration for these stunning time pieces.
Yo Teddy is a bad ass professional, he allows the spokesman to take him through the catalog of timepieces without so much as a whimper or misstimed interjection. Truly high class interview. The love and appreciation for these watches comes through in the way they handle and discuss the horology of these amazing bits of engineering. Truly the succinct and subtle nuances of the conversation easily reflect the understated and classy demeanor of Grand Seiko ! Well done Lads !! I am a sucker for that white birch My Oh My ...
The more I see, the more I fall in love with Grand Seiko! The quality and craftsmanship are AMAZING! The same can be said for this channel Teddy! I've been a subscriber for quite a few years and you have stepped up your game. BEST WATCH CHANNEL ON UA-cam!
It’s always a pleasant surprise for me when a “sales & mktg” guy intimately knows his stuff, as Joe obviously does! (As a car guy from way back, I heard “you know so much, you should sell cars,” to which I had to reply “they want salesmen who can sell ice to Eskimos, not product experts knowing stuff”)
Personally, realllyyy digging the tokyo lion. The sharp angles really give the watch some unique identity, and the dial is amazing as expected. I love how thin the bezel looks too
I have my GS Snowflake that I wore over Christmas Holidays. Love the watch. People ask me about it. I don't wear it everyday, I like to keep it like new.
Hi Teddy, GS Snowflake was my first Grand Seiko and it remains one of my very favourite watches. It’s the one I would grab in a fire, leaving my 5 Omegas and 1 Rolex behind. However, intrigued by the technology I’ve recently bought a Seiko Astron Solar GPS SSJ005J1. Mightily impressed, it certainly has a GS feel to the construction and love the Solar charge and GPS timekeeping. Worth a look. Keep up the great work. Would love you to do a visit to GS in Japan. Best Wishes, Peter
Your coverage of watches and wonders is the best out there that I’ve seen or found. Well done I love the lake suwa. Simple but so elegant and quite sporty at the same time. With a knock out movement. Just great Thanks Teddy
Thank you Teddy for showcasing all of the new watches in 2023 Watches & Wonders you have done a brilliant job! These watches are absolutely fantastic, it is clear that the watch market is starting to become extremely diverse and monololies are beginning to vanish.
Funny, I was just re-watching introduction to Grand Seiko video from last year and I get the notification for this one, I've been a huge fan of Seiko for some time but picked up my first GS recently and have been getting more and more fascinated with their offerings, what a treat this video was, thanks Teddy!
Teddy, You introduced me to Grams Seiko. Thank you. Hands down in my humble opinion, technologically the most impressive brands in the industry. WOW!!!
The beauty of GS is the fact that there's always a lot of thought, design, and engineering involved in every watch they make. You have to do your research (or watch a Teddy & Joe video) to really appreciate the process that GS really go through when making their watches. After which, you can't help but appreciate the brand and the watches they release. I was initially not too excited with what was showcased in W&W this year but upon watching this video, I can now say that GS is still one of my favourite brands.
Love, love, love the rose gold Grand Seiko SBGY026. The play of the dial design against the rose gold case is beautiful. I appreciate the lack of the power display and the calendar. Simplicity of design means that there are no extraneous items on the dial face to detract from the overall beauty of the watch!
Grand Seiko just does it the right way. Their brand is solidified now and stands unique amongst others which I love. I will say that as much as I love their marketing it’s really once I got one on my wrist that I truly understood the quality and beauty of them. Each one is just feels incredibly special on the wrist. I have Rolex, Zenith and Omega and Grand Seiko easily holds its own in that company for me.
Thanks for all your impute about the watches from your point of view but I think that it is worth it having 1 myself in the very near future and expecting it 4 myself and I would like to thank all of comment's Thank-you so much good buy.
I own a GS and worked hard to be able to afford it, if i won the lottery i would buy the tentagraph straight away, for me, no other brand makes watches like Grand Seiko does , the quality, the style the innovation! Amazing
Great interview! I am so impressed with Grand Seiko, and Joe Kirk is a a fabulous spokesman for the brand. The first watch shown, the green GMT, is my favorite. Truly stunning, as all GS pieces are.
16:35 Its amazing when Joe describes how the Japanese treat the metals of the watch, it just shows how advanced in metallurgy Japan is, and how that is translated to their watches.
The attention to detail and performance of GS I would choose over a Rolex any day of the week. I think if they made a GH version of the reverso with birch case and dial on one side and snowflake on the other would sell like no other...
I love the fact Japanese culture has always taken inspiration from their natural surroundings. So all the disrespect aside, Grand Seiko will always have plenty of new ideas and inspiration, because their culture and their geography is so diverse, and their artisans are some of the best in the world.
Great video as always Teddy!!! @Joe Kirk, I just looooove what you guys do at Grand Seiko. Big fan!!! I'd like to see more alternative models for women/smaller wrists that are at an entry level in your catalogue outside of the snowflake, like the SBJP or SBGX lines (I know SBGX is 37mm, but it's still too big), so really looking forward for such releases in order to get one!!
Grand Seiko , my favorite is the hi beat 36000 , but all this years models are really a watch connoisseur pieces even if you are not a spring drive guy . Thank you for the presentation.
The White birch might be my favorite watch out right now... and then the Majestic White Birch came out and I was like (drool). At least the majjestic I know i'll never own... original White birch is still the top of my list!
Same! I’ve tried it in and it absolutely moved me to have it on my wrist unlike many other nice watches I’ve tried on. Hard to explain why but it’s just very special.
Yo Teddy, I appreciate you reigniting my passion for traditional timepieces! I like smartwatches, but it's hard to deny the art and craft of a beautifully crafted dial and bezel! Interesting that rather than fixing known issues with the 9SA5 movement, they decide to continue to release additional watches that use that movement. My green birch has now been with Grand Seiko twice as long as it has been on my wrist.
Mr Kirk does a most excellent job! A first class representative. Some absolutely beautiful watches - the Evo 9 Suwa is certainly on my short list. Nonetheless, I think GS's sports watches still lag their (lower tier!) Swiss competition: their dimensions are still too large and the legibility of the various hands is only so-so (especially the lume). That they still struggle to deliver a great diver, with all their Seiko heritage, I find ironic. I'd also like GS to look beyond dial pattern as their go-to. Some of their earlier designs were more subtle and abundance detracts.
MVMT … if that got teddy’s attention that’s how I got into watches (and John Mayer 😅) Thank you for this video .. oris is to be my next purchase but this gentleman makes me want to buy SEIKO !
I've only been following this channel for a few weeks but it has revolutionised my knowledge of watches and rekindled my long dormant interest in watch ownership. Then we have a powerhouse combo of GS, Joe Kirk, and Teddy. One day I would love to hear about the history of Joe Kirk in GS. He is incredibly passionate about the brand and watches.
You can see Joe's passion for Grand Seiko, which goes beyond his day-to-day work. One of my favourite guests on the channel.
Agreed! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate
I was also very impressed, Sounds like a nice guy with a lot of knowledge
it's part of the brand. you can feel the motive being pushed down the chain of commandment. true leadership in a company stands behind their ethics
I’m thinking the whole time, this guy could have his own channel. So much knowledge.
I love Grand Seiko, love Joe!! He’s the perfect brand representative
agree! and I feel like he has improved as a brand ambassador. I didn't enjoy him the first time Teddy had him on, but this time very much so!
Totally agree!!! So passionate about the brand, and for good reason!!!
Yeah, he really transfers the passion for GS. Gets you hyped about these movements even though I'm normally not that into them.
Would you buy one? I ve never seen people with a GS on their wrist. Of course they sell but really? 10K?
I often wonder if I’ll still be alive when Grand Seiko eventually run out of things outside the office window to inspire their watches
I can see it now “this newest dial was inspired by a piece of gum on the sidewalk outside of the grand seiko office.”

GS never cease to amaze. The green GMT and blue diver totally got me.
Best part is they double as dinner plates!
I recently bought the green GMT. More beautiful in person & stunning in natural sunlight. I highly recommend it for your collection.
just say u got a bitch wrist.
Agree! The green GMT is my favorite. So beautiful.
Grand Seko deserves so much appreciation in the watching community. The craftsmanship of their watches are 10x better than most Swiss watches
Maybe on par and a little bit extra for the price, but let's not go over the hill here.
