Yeah, I agree ... its a great little pickup for exploring some different sonic possibilities with effects etc ... lots of fun and nuanced sounds to be made!! Thanks for checking it out and for your comments
The pickup is really cool and would be great for fingerstyle players. The guitar itself has a unique tone too, nearly like nylon strings. I was curious about that too.
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, the pickup is cool. I find it really useful and a welcome addition to that quirky guitar... its one I put together with all sorts of bits and pieces I had at the time (a bit of a Frankenstein really!)
Hi, I want to buy a Submarine Pro for my acoustic guitar. It is a Seagull model with a wide neck. The string spacing is 10mm, between the E and E string is 50mm. What is the distance between sensors or between marks on the Submarine Pro? Do you think it will work well on my guitar? thanks
The spacing is fine ... the Submarine Pro is exactly 10mm between individual pickup centres. Not sure how well it works with different sorts of acoustic strings though. I presume that a higher ferrous content will work best ... Perhaps you should get in touch directly with Pete to be sure of what strings they recommend
Its really very good compared to other pickups Ive tried. Of course theres a small level of bleed (I think it would be impossible not too with any magnetic pickup design) but in practise its low enough not to be a problem!
I just received my Submarine Pro and I want to try and send the bass strings to am octave pedal and the top strings to a chorus/tremolo but... I don't know how 😅 Can you help me? I've got a stereo jack to go from the pickup to one of the pedals but how do I send the output in different directions?
You need either a stereo ‘Y’ cable (splitting to 2 mono outputs) or else a simple breakout box (or equivalent device) where the stereo trs input gets split to individual mono output jacks.
Hi there! The submarine pro has a stereo TRS jack ... its just a matter of inserting a stereo Y-cable then you have the L and R outputs going to a separate mono plug. The small selector switches on the submarine pro are used to send the signal from each string to the L or R output.
@@Dragonflytap I've thought about using this just to add a bass tone to my guitar, but in the following manner... The 6th and 5th strings would go to separate outputs, both going to a bass sound. However, playing the 6th string would automatically duck the 5th string. This way, you could have a single bass bite while playing chords, but still have access to 5th string bass notes as needed.
@@XChristianNoirX You´d probably be better off going with the simpler (and cheaper!) Submarine pickup for that ... I'm not 100% sure it has stereo out tho
1:45 in and I’m sold. Thanks!
That's so cool, this perfect for solo experimental artists. Your playing style is beautiful too, really sweet fingerpicking

The tune has a cool Sting, Shape Of My Heart vibe to it.
Heaven of sound.
this is rad!

Excelente Mark!!
Viste Ale! ... esta bastante copado poder manejar el sonido de la viola asi!
NICE!
Soo good!!!
Sounds good! Let me ask you a question, what did you use for a guitar synth bow FX? EHX Pod2 or ?
Hi there! The synth bow effect used is from the Boss VF-1 multiFX unit
@@Dragonflytap thx :)

How well does this pickup isolate each string? Do you get any bleed from the other strings next to that one?

@Dragonflytap I wonder if closer to the strings would help? Great use of the P.O.G. 2!!! I love mine!!!!
@@DragonflytapI get a lot of Mars Volta/ Omar Rodriguez-Lopez vibes from your playing style as well man, well done!
VS-880(ex)? Been a while! Lol
Hehe! ... A relic from lasr century
I have 100+ songs backed up on those proprietary files/CDRWs but no way to retrieve unless I find an old 1880🤷♂️🤦♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️

@@Dragonflytap That does make sense.. Thank you!
Can you please make a video on how to hook up the submarine pro
